Work Text:

Shoyo knew it was a bad idea.

Like, really bad. The baddest. He envisioned the half-finished Japanese essay he had yet to finish in an ill-forgotten document, his almost-finished part on a group presentation about "the ways in which athletes perpetuate career-ending injuries and how to prevent them", and two more major assessments the day after on physical science and a Portuguese elective. Yet still.

"Shoyo, this is a bad idea." Tsukishima succinctly deadpanned in the face of his desperation.

"But come onnnn, Kei!" Shoyo whined, dragging his whole upper body down against Tsukishima's abdomen. "I really, really want to watch our potentially new kouhais at tryouts! And don't deny not wanting the same thing!"

"Hng," Tsukishima narrowed his eyes and shrugged off his overdramatic partner off his body as if he was an annoying little worm bothering his afternoon, which, all in all, he kinda is.

"You already know that I have just as much work to do as you do, Shoyo, what makes you think I'd be willing to drop everything to watch freshman gremlins try to breeze past tonight's tryouts... eugh." Tsukishima shivered as Shoyo pouted, but then broke into a wide, mischievous grin.

"That's exactly why you're gonna go with me! You can't resist watching any of them maybe-fail under Ushijima-san's and great king's eyes!" Shoyo giggled merrily under his boyfriend's indignant glare, and because he's a little shit, busted out his ever-adoring eyes at him. "Pleaaase?"

Tsukishima, with all the pain he could muster, let out a long-suffering sigh, then grabbed one of Shoyo's arms to drag him towards the familiar direction of the gym's locker rooms. Shoyo cackled triumphantly behind him.

"You are so going to make up for this."

Shoyo simply hummed, "Sure,"

"Convince Kuroo to take Kenma-san out on an amusement park date then." Shoyo gasped loudly. "You monster! You know that Kenma isn't a big fan of crowds like that!"

Tsukishima glanced at him with a smile that could kill his heart. Maybe he already has. "Not. My. Problem, love~" He sing-songed before kissing Shoyo on the cheek, abandoning him to be a sputtering, flustered mess.
