Work Text:

It was a late day at the bar… restaurant…thing… where ever the fuck machine girl takes place. Miller was lazily cleaning the drink station up. Aiden was laying her head down on the counter with several shots of vodka around her. Either extremely drunk or had a shit ton of tolerance and had a headache.

“... Aid. Are you done?” Miller asks ruffling Aiden's hair teasingly

“Yeah yeah… I'm nearly done, elder cousin miller.” Aiden groans, pushing her body up looking at him with mild fondness before straightening out her hair.

“... Hey… Aiden. Can I ask you something…?” Miller asks putting the glass he's cleaning down on the counter

“... Shoot your shot, cousin miller.” Aiden puts her hands on her lap waiting for his question

“... Aiden. Cousin. Oh cousin… do… Do you believe there is something more than what you see of me?” Miller puts his hand over the hunters, his calloused hand mildly irritating the raw scars on her hand.

Aiden blinks in mild shock before going back to her blank emotion “... If you want me to truly believe that somewhere there is a way better person within you. Then you have to start acting like it… and to stop using your own cockyness and angriness as a mask for your flaws, cousin miller.” Aiden says gently, pushing his hand off of hers. "If you do want to make yourself a better person. You have to work on yourself. It won't happen immediately like people say. If you do… I believe in you. You know me and the triangle will always always believe in you. And so will the rest of the children of the triangle.” Aiden says while pushing her shot glasses onto his side of the counter.

“... I see. I… I really don't believe that… Will…Ever… Ever… happen… but… i… I don't even know any more… No matter what I do, jokes on me! All I do will always be wrong.” Miller says solemnly grabbing her shot glasses to clean them

“I know you want to see heaven soon. I won't let that happen. It's better to be hurt than to hurt others, you keep telling yourself. You wonder if you're a coward, don't you? I want you to get better. I want you here. I want you alive. Youve made me so fucking happy. I don't care if you don't think so. I wont let you fucking die on me, Miller.” Aiden slams her hand onto the counter staring right down Miller's soul.

“... Wh… ah… alright… I see… you… really do care about me and want me to get better… thank God…” Miller laughs weakly “... Well…You better get back to your dog and that weird freak you're with… right?”

“... I guess. You have my number. Call me if you need anything or feel like that again. Please. I'd rather not have you do something stupid.” Aiden pushes herself up grabbing her bag “... God… good bye, cousin Miller.”

“... Bye Aiden… Love you.” Miller sighs before closing up the bar
