Jett walked into Neon's room and dropped her mission bag before collapsing on the Filipino's bed. Neon wasn't back from training at the moment but Jett knew she wouldn't care and it would be a pleasant surprise. She pulled out her phone and sent her girlfriend a text, "In ur room imma take a shower" before getting up to do such. She was getting dressed when she heard Neon get back.
When Jett left the bathroom, Neon was at her desk with her laptop open. She was focused on whoever she was talking to and didn't notice Jett sneak up behind her. The Korean wrapped her arms around the younger agent's shoulders and planted a kiss on her cheek. Neon froze.
"Babe what's wrong" she asked
"Umm, could you please not right now" she responded stiffly
It was at that point that she finally looked at the screen. The shocked faces of Neon's parents looked back at them. Sunwoo's face immediately dropped and she turned bright red.
"Uhh, oh my gosh, I am so sorry" she said, extremely embarrassed
"Honey, why didn't you tell us" Neon's mom said while her dad stood stoically on the right side of the room
"I-uh-I just didn't want you to be mad, and I didn't know how to tell you or when, and-" the lightning agent was cut off by her mom
"That doesn't matter, both of us will always love you for who you are"
"Then why does Dad look like that?"
"He's just can't that our little girl is growing up"
"Mom I'm 19" Neon said, blushing harder
"I know, anyway get your girlfriend back here, I want to know who my child is sleeping with"
"Mom!"
Her retort was followed by laughter from both Neon’s mom Sunwoo, who was over in the corner of the room and her mom.
"Hi Mrs. Valdez" she said coming back into frame
"Hello dear, what's your name?"
"I'm Han Sunwoo"
"Nice to meet you"
"So, how did you two meet?"
"We both met when Tala came to the base, and we often have to work together."
"What do you like to do for fun?"
"I like to cook and play pretty much any sport."
"Mom, Sunwoo just got back from a really long day and so I'm sure she would love to take a shower and then crash for the rest of the night."
"Okay sweetie, we need to schedule another call so I can get to know your girlfriend better."
"Okay, bye mom love you."
"I love you too, right Nathaniel" she said elbowing her husband in the ribs, he grunted in response
Neon waved goodbye and ended the call while her mom gave her dad a look like he was about to get yelled at
"Okay, you didn't tell me you weren't out to your parents yet. Your Dad looked like he almost died of a heart attack." Jett blurted as soon as it was over
"I know, it's just.. well you understand."
"Yeah I get it, I'm sorry for yelling at you and sneaking up on you."
"It's alright, you did me a favor, I needed the little push."
"Get over here." the Korean said holding out her arms to cuddle
Neon happily sat on her lap and wrapper her limbs around her girlfriend's muscular body. She gave a content sigh as she buried her face into Sunwoo's neck and felt arms wrap around her in return.
"Y'know usually I would pass that off as a 'prank' on my 'best friend’" Jett murmured
"I think my parents would've taken even that seriously"
"Eh, from what you've told me, that seems a little exaggerated."
Neon sighed and pulled back a little, "Just wait, they're gonna make me bring you to every family gathering now, because in their minds we are already married and every little get together is just practice for the big celebration. Also I hope you don't have any deep dark secrets because my mom has some incredible and questionable interrogation tactics and will grill you at every possible moment."
"I'm going to choose not to respond to any of that."
The smaller agent giggled and pushed the wind radiant down on the bed before promptly laying on top of her.
"I love you, Tala."
"I love you too, Sun"
After that they both fell asleep for the rest of the night.
