They say, a man never moves on from his first love. As much as Yeonjun wanted to prove it wrong, he couldn't.
He remembered her brown eyes perfectly. The chestnut color that turned almost golden in sunlight.
Her jet black hair that looked brown whenever light hit. Her pale skin that glistened.
He couldn't forget her. Yuna and Yeonjun both knew they wouldn't last, not with their family's history with each other.
But, that didn't stop their love, not for a while. Their families found out and separated them.
Not a day goes without him thinking about her. Her face is stamped to his brain.
One question lingers in his mind all the time, "Does she ever think of me?"
He doesn't know, she thinks of him way more. She tried forgetting him, tried liking other guys, but she couldn't.
He was the one for her, the only one she ever wanted and ever could want.
They're much older now. No longer teenagers desperately in love, sneaking out to the nearby riverbank at midnight, laying under the starry skies, dreaming about their future.
Yet, even decades later, they'd throw away everything for each other.
Sometimes, Yeonjun visits that river, just to look at the stars, just to remember her. For a second, it feels like they're back at it again.
"Yeonjun! Hurry up, we'll get caught!" Yuna chuckled at the Yeonjun who was out of breath.
"I'M TRYING!!" He frowned as a joke, how could he ever be mad at her?
"TRY HARDER!" She stuck her tongue out and continued running along the shore.
The waves were loud. Paired with the beautiful cloudy sky, it was very refreshing.
But really, he only paid attention to her. There was no better sight than her.
They didn't know this was the last time they'd be together.
The next day their parents found out. She was immediately sent away.
Although she tried to fight back, nothing worked.
He missed her more than anything, and the only thing he could do is go to the river again.
It was snowy day, the river was frozen, it looked so pretty. It wasn't as pretty as her though.
That day was different. He heard a voice, a very familiar one.
"Yeonjun?"
He immediately recognized it.
"Yuna?"
The only light was the moon's, yet they could still see each other.
Time felt like it froze.
"Y-you're here?" She stepped closer, cupping his face in her hands, she couldn't quite believe he was real, that he was in front of her.
"Yuna... I missed you so bad" He didn't want to cry, he was still trying to act tough, like he did years ago.
But, a tear slipped, its okay though, Yuna didn't notice, too busy wiping her own tears.
They hugged and suddenly it felt like time had turned back to when they were 15 again.
Except now, there was no one to stop them from falling in love. They were finally free.
They could do all they wanted without fear now.
They talked hours after hours after hours, until the sun peaked in.
"We could never make up the years we lost, but we can't lose the years to come either can we?" Yuna said. Yeonjun just agreed.
"And that's how I met your mother." Yeonjun told their daughter, who couldn't quite understand yet.
Yuna looked at her now husband and daughter who looked exactly like him.
The same hair and eyes she once fell in love with.
She smiled at her happy family, exactly like they had planned years ago under the stars...
