Summary
A Cinderella-esque retelling of The Goblet of Fire.
All anyone at Hogwarts can talk about is the Masquerade Yule Ball. Though she won't admit it, Hermione is excited - she still can't believe Viktor Krum decided to ask her, of all witches. It's a shame she's been so focused on researching the Triwizard Tournament in a desperate attempt to keep Harry alive to really enjoy Krum's attention. Draco Malfoy, on the other hand, finds the entire event idiotic. He is content with not attending, thank you very much. Plus, he has more pressing matters to deal with, like finding out how Voldemort's Death Eaters are sneaking him secret notes into the castle.
When they inevitably cross paths at the ball, neither recognizes the other beneath their masks. The comfort of anonymity leads both to admit personal details they'd never share if unmasked. When midnight comes and they're forced to separate, Hermione vows to determine the identity of her new crush. Luckily, he left behind his wand - that should make things a bit easier, right?
