☆ the axe and the scythe (placeholder name) ~ Doors x Mieruko-Chan crossover ship....

Summary:

☆ Every universe represents a fandom, whether it is a TV show, game, novel, or movie. Every 3 decades, all of these universes collide, creating an event named The Joint Megaverse. For ~3 years, every fandom would live on the very same planet, thus causing new connections, new experiences and new opportunities. So, what happens when two entities from different universes happen to meet and have... WAY too much in common?

Notes:

Chapter 1: ☆ The Joint Megaverse

Chapter Text

Many universes existed.

A bunch of them.

Each one was different, in many ways.

Each universe had its own set of laws, morals, styles, goals, challenges and more.

Every three decades, more or less, all of these universes intertwine all at once, as they are always moving.

This event is referred to as the Great Joint Megaverse.

However, this also causes what is called a Temporary Black-out, where every universe's habitants falls in a deep sleep-like state, known as passing out, usually for a full day as the universes adapt to each other, so that when said habitants wake up, everything is perfect.

After waking up, most immediately realize what had happened. It's not rocket science.

The universes are now all one.

How the universes merge so perfectly is unknown. It just happens. As if it was always what it just became.

The Great Joint Megaverse usually lasts for around 3.5 years, it used to last for a full decade, though.

In a specific universe, everything was going fine.

An entity known as the Groundskeeper was casually gardening in.. Well, a garden, when suddenly everything went black.

He probably passed out.

When waking up, the Groundskeeper starting panicking slightly. Did he just pass out? The last thing he remembers is plucking out some annoying Mandrake from the ground below.

He quickly got up from his bed and practically ran over to his father, Grampy, who was still sound-asleep.

“D-dad??? He almost shouted. What.. What happened??”

The cause of his panic was because it all happened so... Fast. He was also worried his father could've gotten injured, somehow.

Grampy, groggy as ever, answered him half a reply, some gibberish, before going right back to sleep. He always did that.

Great.

That's exactly what he needed. Suree. It surely didn't ease his worries, but he just shrugged it off. Worst case scenario, he probably just blacked out while working.

“Hm. Maybe I do need a break from gardening...” he thought to himself.

And he went right back to bed.

The morning, Sonny almost forgot about it before bringing it up to his father while munching on a plain ass bowl of oatmeal❤️

(note : Sonny is Groundskeeper btw incase someone dk)

Grampy shrugged at first, not really knowing what had possibly happened. He zoned off a little then went "ohh"...

“Oh?.. asked Sonny. Oh what?”

His father gave him a slight look before explaining it to him.

“Have I never told ye ... Sorreʼ, son. Ya see, it's just.. How to explain it...”

After a bit, Grampy found the right words and clarified to him what probably happened : the Joint Megaverse. He also added that even though it might sound overwhelming, it'll be alright, nothing much would change.

For Grampy, it was normal. For Sonny, it felt a little weird. Such a big, worldwide- no, UNIVERSEwide event happened... Just like that. He was almost curious, but he knew better than randomly exploring new places. Who knew what these... otherworldly people were up to?

He was just about to pick up his scythe and get back to work before getting interrupted :

“Where ye goinʼ, Sonny? Yer coming with me.”

“... Huh? The Groundskeeper was a little confused. Going where exactly, dad?”

Grampy rolled his eyes.

“We're headin' to Ozaki Flower Park, obviouslehʼ. It's in a... A japan. Is one of the best places for everythin' plant. We could get some bugleweeds to get rid of 'em vine boogers, ye think?”

“I'm ... I'm not sure? You know that place?, asked Sonny.

“I constantly visited it last Joint Megaverse. Prepare yeself. We're headin' towards there soon. 'Cause I said so.”

Sonny didn't get a single second to argue with his father about it.

I mean, the same thought came to his mind again. Who knows what these otherworldly people are up to? Guess Grampy has an idea, but at the same time... He wasn't really reliable. Atleast on a few things. Especially these things.

It's whatever. The Groundskeeper took his scythe with him, despite the old man arguing that “that's not what they do out there”.

They eventually both left The Mill, and headed to... Whatever that... Park was.

Sonny pondered.

“Ozaki... Flower park. In.. Japan? Say... What even IS a Japan?”

Chapter 2: ☆ The 'schizophrenic' and an exhausted father with dreams

Summary:

☆ The Groundskeeper and Grampy get to a train station where Sonny encounters the Axeman and tried to 1v1 him but horribly fails, and they eventually get to Ozaki Flower Park.

Notes:

At last! Chapter two has been posted! I hope you enjoy this one, however it is a little bad because I'm not very good at writing scenes >_>

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Even though Grampy's memory was slowly deteriorating, he always remembered where these... 'parks' were. He even kept a map, just in case, for 'these places are the gems of gardening in the Megaverse'. Sonny thought they were doing fine without these fancy and special Megaverse stuff, but hey, the elder always knew more, right?

Since the joint Megaverse, all the (non-Megaverse) maps are now inaccurate. Japan, where Ozaki Flower park was, is now practically closer than it's ever been. What would've turned into a long flight just to get to is now barely a few hours away.

Eventually, the Doorsians (LMAO?) made it to a train station, which took way longer than expected.
“Dad. You said it would barely take 30 minutes to get here,” grunted Sonny, slightly glaring at his father. “Not 3 hours.”
Grampy adjusted his hat and the lavender he's been gnawing on for said 3 hours.
“So what? Tis' basically the same thang ... Yer really gettin' lazy these days.”
The Groundskeeper rolled his eyes and looked around the station. It's not like anything he's seen before. But what's more weird is the new people in there... So much was going on.
Too much, even. So many strange faces...
A man wearing a business suit slapping an unfortunate looking one?
A purple haired maniac shouting robotic slurs at a white-haired robot?
A blue jester taunting a... priest?
A humanoid apple promoting an apple farm?
An angel beating up a man in a suit?

It was all so strange, and it made Sonny's grip on his scythe a little tighter. At that time, his father was buying train tickets, and gave one to his son. They soon made their way to the train matching the tickets.

The train was... Pretty trainy. It surprisingly wasn't packed, maybe because no one's going to a flower park during the joint Megaverse.

Most usually go to loved ones that weren't from the same universe as them and decided to stay in their universe. Yeah, you could stay in another universe if you wanted to, though adapting is a little difficult. You'll change to fit that universe.

Sonny and Grampy sat down on train seats, and the train started moving eventually.

Everything was.. Well, normal at first. Nothing much was happening, except some children yelling and such, which was triggering the Groundskeeper's instincts to go shove the scythe blade in their heads. His fingers almost shook while holding his weapon next to him. Grampy also had to reassure him about basically anything, since everything deemed a threat.

At one point, the children stopped their tantrums, everything was at peace again. You could only hear the rumbling of the train and a cough every now and then.

It was peaceful enough to put the Groundskeeper to sleep, somehow. Maybe he needed some more rest. Grampy was knocked out aswell... As expected.

The train continued on moving on its tracks...

UUUUNTILLLL

The Groundskeeper suddenly woke up to a loud CLANG coming from the commands room of the train, only to see a long, dark figure walk out of it... But wait a minute, it just passed through the door?!

Sonny rubbed his eyes a little, he probably was imagining things. The same figure went up to a train passenger, which seemed normal at first, until the Groundskeeper noticed what was in its hands. An axe. A big one, atleast. Didn't Grampy say that 'that's not what people do out there'..??? Before he could react, the figure shoved their weapon in the passenger's head with great precision, then retrieving it a few seconds later. Strangely enough, NOTHING happened to the passenger, as if they couldn't even see whoever that was. That just blared alarms in Sonny's mind.
He was fast to wake his father up and ask about what that was. Maybe something Grampy knew about?

“Dad.. Dad.. Wake... Wake up.” Sonny nudged his father quickly while whispering.
Grampy woke up with a loud yawn. “Whatcha want, Sonny?”

The loud noises made the said figure abruptly turn, and it took big and quick steps towards Sonny and his father, axe still in hands and raised.

This instantly triggered Groundskeeper's reflexes yet again and he was quick to grab his scythe and get infront of Grampy, in a defending stand.

The figure stopped, stared at him slightly and titled its head.

Upon closer inspection, that figure was... Quite ugly. Its head was wrapped in bloody bandages, it didn't even have any lips... And it even had braces on its teeth as if that would save its appearance.

The smaller details weren't immediately noticed.

They stared at each other for a little, until a passenger suddenly got up to make a call.

The figure then rushed to it, completely ignoring its previous 'victims' (atleast to Sonny) and the Groundskeeper quickly followed to 'protect' that person and stood right behind them, almost bumping into them. Only then did Grampy fully wake up and notice whatever his son was doing. A mother's child started pointing at Sonny, asking things such as “what's he doing?”, and pretty much everybody was staring at him, and someone most likely was recording. The public...

As the Groundskeeper and the mysterious figure basically ran after each other for around 5 minutes while listening to Grampy telling his son to 'get back here', the figure finally managed to shove its axe in the Groundskeeper's head...

Nothing happened.

Right after that, it sighed and just went back to what it was doing first. Any of the Groundskeeper's attempts to stop it were in vain as it just ignored him.

A woman shouted, "you need to leave!" and the same kid from before was hiding behind his mother. Grampy FURIOUSLY pinched Sonny's ear and dragged him back to his seat.

Thankfully at that time, the train doors opened and everyone ran out the door. That saved some... Awkward stares that Sonny would've had to endure once back to hit seat.

Instead of leaving, however, Grampy kept his son sat and was almost yelling at him 💔.

“What is WRONG with yer, lad?! Goin' around acting like a maniac, scarin' everyone?!”

Sonny's gaze was fixed near an empty passenger seat, where the figure was seen standing and staring at him still.

“... Dad. Did... Do you not see him?!”

“See who?!, he rolled his eyes, the person you were fighting? Sure, son.”

“Dad, please. He was- right- right there. HE'S RIGHT THERE!”

Sonny kept pointing at his 'opponent', over and over, but Grampy wasn't buying it, and whispered to himself “my son is schizophrenic...”

Before the train doors closed, they exited the vehicle and Grampy pulled out a map that was quite old.

“Mmm... Should be here somewhere...”

He looked around, before spotting a fountain nearby.
“That looks like the one back home,” noticed Sonny.

Grampy nodded and started reciting to himself the directions to the flower park.

“Alright... So we need to, uh... Go to the fountain then 50 feet to the left at angle 67° then we take 25 half feet to the right with a cherry on top then we go there then that then here and there and then we do this and that and that and this and then we..........................

Sonny wasn't listening anymore and was fixated on the train again. What the flip did he just witness? Why couldn't anyone else see that thing? What is it even doing? Is it fulfilling some sick fantasy? Or maybe it lost a bet with its friends? Does it even HAVE friends? Not sure.
By the time he looked back at his father, he was already running to Ozaki Flower Park. Wherever that was. He quickly caught up to him.

The park was beautiful, very. Basically everything back 'home' but with ten times more stuff.

“Hey... Is there a flower that helps schizophrenic individuals?”, whispered Grampy to one of the workers.

“DAD!!!!”
