Jake turned to look at Tom, his face showing an expression of indignation as he pressed his hands into fists, coming closer and making the other man back away a little.
“You seriously not get it? Do I have to spell it out for you? Fine!” the intensity of the moment was clear in every word that came out of his mouth “I’m breaking up with you, I want to leave!”
Tom’s eyes widened as he opened his mouth a few times, it looked like his mind was unable to form any sentence as he took a moment to process his words.
“No…” he whispered finally, blinking quickly as tears started forming “Please, tell me you are not serious, please…” he pleaded, shaking his head.
“I’ve never been more serious in my life, I’m tired of this, all the lies, the manipulation, and the fighting…I’m fucking tired!” his voice took the whole place like a thunder.
“You can’t do this! Whatever is the problem we can find a way to fix it, right? I’m begging you, you know my life was empty before I met you,” he pleaded going to take his hands and kissing them “I love, I love you so much.”
“I love you too…” Jake admitted as his body language changed, becoming softer and for a moment it looked like he was really revaluating himself, but soon he pulled his hands away and turned around shaking his head “But that’s not enough! We can’t keep forcing this relationship to work just because we love each other.”
“Don’t ask me to let you go, I would rather die than live a life without you” Tom threw his arms around the man, trapping him in a desperate hug, hiding his face against his shoulder “You are my whole world.”
“That’s not normal! Can’t you see what this is doing to us? To you?” he moved to struggle against his grab but it only became stronger “You don’t want to hurt me but this relationship is destroying us, can’t you see?” his rage was slowly turning into sadness, helplessness.
Their sobs and cries were everything that could be heard in the room as the lights faded, leaving the place dark for a moment before the lights went back up.
“And cut!” a feminine voice said and both men let go of each other “That was amazing, guys!” Ally said coming closer, her smile radiant and proud.
“You really outdid yourself with that scene, it was even better than what I imagined” Lake followed her, she looked just as glad as Ally.
“Thank you” Jake smiled as Dan came closer, handing him a bottle of water, then gave one to Tom as well “We really wanted this to be perfect, it will be a killer season finale, Lake!”
“Fans are going to go crazy” Ashley agreed, she looked like she had cried a little bit too “You are such a mean writer, Lake!” she playfully pushed her.
“She loves to make people go crazy, remember when she made everyone believe my character had been killed?” Aiden said amused, crossing his arms.
“Can’t fight the truth, it is quite entertaining to get a reaction” she smiled shrugging “But I couldn’t do it without all of you and your great acting.”
“Agreed, now I think you two deserve a break, go rest” Ally patted their shoulders and turned around, going to review the footage.
“Yes director! See you in a moment, guys” Jake nodded and grabbed Tom’s arm.
Tom had been quiet since the scene ended, looking down absently while drinking his water, and he didn’t offer any resistance as the other man gently guided him into the privacy of his dressing room and closed the door.
“Hey, are you alright?” Jake asked touching his face, worried.
“I’m alright” he assured him quickly, smiling and looking at him, leaning on his soft and warm hand “That was amazing…you are incredible, babe.”
“You are also incredible” he smiled too, coming closer and kissing his lips “But if something is bothering you, you know you can tell me.”
“It’s something silly, I know we are actors and we are only doing our jobs, but sometimes it feels really painful to have to act the dramatic scenes with you” he admitted, going to sit on the nearest couch “Our characters are a real mess, I don’t understand how they let things get to this point.”
“Oh Tom…” Jake gave him a tender smile, sitting by his side and holding him.
“I told you it was silly” he said ashamed “But know that if you ever wanted to leave me, I would never stop you like that.”
“I don’t think it’s silly, I think you are a really sensitive and kind person” he kissed his face several times “I don’t want to leave you, the fact you are telling me this is the biggest proof that I’m with a good man, someone that would never hurt me not even in fiction.”
“Never! I love you so much” Tom placed his arms around him protective.
“I love you too, working with you is an honor, but dating you is the best thing that could have ever happened to me.”
“The best?” he smiled, glad to hear that.
“The very best, yes” he said cuddling against him.
“I feel the same” Tom kissed his head and slowly started leaving that uneasy feeling away, his boyfriend knew exactly what to do to make him feel reassured, he loved that about him.
