Chapter Text
“I hate it here, I feel…empty”
It a common thought for the Dark Prince, Rui Kamishiro, I mean could you blame him, he was always isolated from the outside world, the fear from his aunt, always worrying something bad would happen to him, because he wasn’t her own.
Back 15 years ago, when the prince was only 3, his parents drowned due to a flood, sweeping them away, reducing them to just another thing the people here would talk about. It made his blood boil. How could people talk so lowly upon one’s parents, what if it were their parents, would they talk so casually upon that?
“I hate them all”
Rui often thought why he didn’t die, why didn’t he, was there something God had prepared for him, waiting for him at the end of this dark, pathetic life. His aunt took him in because she wanted to give him a new chance at life, she hated her sister though, his mother. That’s why his parents didn’t live with her, due to this, she often feels at fault for what happened to his parents.
However, Rui never hated her, never yelled, never talked back, never had a glare full with hatred, only an empty, emotionless look.
He was tired, he hated this life.
“…I’m tired…”
He decided to go to bed, though it was quite early.
“Give me a dream, a dream where I am happy…please”
A quiet thought, before he drifted into a deep slumber.
He suddenly woke up in a flower patch, if you could call it that, there was only one type of flower being grown here, the white lily. Rui had never been in a flower patch though, he was always inside watching the others have a life he never will have, but he still was confused. Why was he suddenly in a flower bed, although, the aroma was a strong, almost delicate scent, reminiscent of purity. He sat up, and admired the beautiful scenery. His eyes were twinkling with awe. Then something caught his attention, someone walking up behind him.
“Oh no…”
He thought, they were going to think he was trespassing upon their land, quietly waited for a punishment.
“Ah, hello there!”
Hmm…? What a strong voice.
“Ah! Oh uh…hi”
So strong it startled him. Such power caught his attention.
“Well I’m glad you found my garden, because I worked quite hard on it!”
His voice beaming with pride. Rui looked around, noticing how beautiful each and every flower was, even the ones that seemed miles away, he could tell they were all handled with care. He looked up again, noticing a boy, around the same age as him, with blond hair with peachy tips tied into a side ponytail, and a warm gaze from beaming amber eyes. He was in awe again for how a human could be this beautiful, making his heart slightly flutter. Then, a gentle breeze came through, making his hair dance in the wind.
“Pretty…”
Only a thought to himself though, he wouldn’t dare say this to another man.
“Ah I must say I’ve never seen you before, may I ask for your name?”
“Oh, it’s Rui Kamishiro”
“Oh! I’ve heard of you aren’t you the Dark Prince?”
Heard of? Was he a myth to people? He suddenly got slightly annoyed.
“So? Why would you care?” A sentence coated with irritation.
It startled him, he never had tone to his words before.
“Ah! I’m sorry.” He held his head down in shame, although, he rarely had felt emotion.
Then the bright boy knelt down next to him. He had tilted Rui’s head up to face him. The warmth from his hand had made his heart flutter more ever so slightly. Then his expression changed to a softer one.
“No I’m sorry, I’d be mad if I was reduced to nothing but a myth.”
How…caring.
Then he picked a flower from the flower garden and gave it to him.
“Here! An apology gift from yours truly!”
Yours truly? Rui thought it was just something he said to seem more friendly to him, but he couldn’t help but feel all the more…flattered. Then he placed the gift within his hands, the warm graze from his hands made his heart beat increase. What is this feeling, Rui had never experienced such feelings before. He looked up to face the boy.
“Before I forget, what’s your name?”
The blond boy looked up and said with a smile
“Tsukasa Tenma”
That was the Light Prince.
Rui woke up from the slumber, wondering had just happened, he still felt empty, but he noticed some on his nightstand
A white lily.
