Work Text:

Love is a struggle.

Hamin remembered Eunho once saying that, back when Eunho was chasing after their senior, Bamby, like a crazy person. He fought against dozens of other men who were also after Bamby until the two finally became a couple.

But, it turned out, the struggle didn’t end there. These two best friends now found themselves facing the very same problem.

Hamin had a huge hopeless crush on Yejun since his freshman year. Although they were in the same friend group and getting along pretty well, Hamin never dared to confess. For him, Yejun was like his ultimate crush. Too beautiful, too angelic—too perfect!

Meanwhile, Eunho had been dating Bamby for a few months now. They were affectionate, but they hadn’t gone beyond that. Eunho didn’t want to rush. But he was also starting to lose his mind because Bamby was just too hot for his sanity sometimes.

So when the four of them planned a beach trip together, Eunho and Hamin made a serious deal, sitting side by side on the campus bench with bubble teas in hand and bags dumped at their feet.

“Okay. This is it. Beach vacation. Two nights. One mission,” Eunho declared while sipping his bubble tea.

“Two missions,” Hamin corrected. “You wanna get laid, I wanna confess.”

Eunho smirked and pointed at him, “Exactly! And we’re gonna help each other. Like bros.” Then he sat up straight like a monk giving a sermon. “You get alone time with Yejun hyung, I get to make Bamby hyung scream my name in a respectful, loving way.”

Hamin gave him a long stare. “That sounds unholy.”

“No, that sounds amazing.” Eunho’s grin widened.

Hamin sighed deeply, sipping his drink. “Why do I feel like we’re entering a warzone?”

“Because we are,” Eunho said with a grave tone. “You think love is gentle? No. Like I said, love is a struggle. And we… are out of ammo.”

Hamin squinted. “Did you stay up playing PUBG again?”

“A little…”

They sat in silence for a few seconds, deep in thought while sipping again.

Slurp.

Slurp.

Then Hamin glanced at him. “What’s your plan anyway? You're gonna seduce Bamby hyung with what? Pyongnaeng and sunset?”

Eunho’s face suddenly lit up. “Oh, that’s not bad!”

“Come on!”

“What? He likes pyongnaeng. And I look pretty cool and romantic under the sunset. I’ve run simulations in my head.”

Hamin sighed. “I regret asking.”

“You shouldn’t. Okay! ‘Take Hyung to Heaven’ mission is set.” He laughed, clearly way too proud of his cheap plan. “Now, what about you? You got a plan?”

Hamin looked dazed for a moment, staring up as if searching for the answer to that question.

“W-Well... I was thinking I’d pull Yejun-hyung aside during the beach walk and then… just say it.”

“That’s it? That’s your plan?” Eunho blinked.

“I’ll improvise!”

Eunho shook his head. “No. No, no, no. That’s how you end up crying at the beach. Don’t you wanna make it more… romantic?”

“I’m not you.”

“I’m a man of action!”

“You’re a man of delusion,” Hamin muttered.

“At least, I’m gonna get laid.” Eunho just had to emphasize the last word.

Hamin deadpanned. “Please don’t say that with eye contact.”

“I’m. Gonna. Get. Laid,” Eunho repeated, staring deeper.

“Stop it!” Hamin lightly bumped Eunho’s shoulder, making them burst out in laughter as they slouched back on the bench. They were silent for a moment, enjoying a cool breeze blowing under the hot summer sun, before Eunho turned more serious to the man next to him.

“…You really like him, huh?” he asked quietly.

Hamin’s expression softened. He nodded. “Yeah. I do. It’s stupid, but whenever Yejun hyung talks to me, I forget how to breathe.”

Eunho nodded solemnly. “Yeah. That’s love, bro.”

Hamin looked at him. “What about you?”

Eunho shrugged. “Whenever Bamby hyung laughs, my brain just shuts off. Like someone yanked the power cable.”

“Romantic.”

“It’s true.”

For a moment, they just sat there. They looked like two broke masterminds plotting a world takeover with nothing but wishful thinking and too much sugar in their systems. Both were caught between nervous anticipation and dumb excitement.

Eunho finally leaned back and grinned. “Okay. ‘Operation Confess and Smash’. Let’s do this!”

“Uhm… Can we not call it that? It sounds uncool.” Hamin protested.

“Too late,” Eunho stood up and raised a fist in the air like an anime protagonist, then shouted, “FOR LOVE AND FOR SIN!!!”

Hamin looked at him flatly.

“Please never say that at the beach later.”

*********

The van pulled up to the small beach house just past noon. The salty breeze hit them immediately as the car doors slid open, and sunlight streamed in while waves could be heard faintly in the background.

Yejun stepped out first, stretching his arms over his head and letting out a satisfied sigh.

“Finally. I thought my spine was gonna snap in that back seat,” he groaned, rolling his shoulders.

“We’re here!” Bamby followed, hopping out with a wide grin and a beach hat already in hand. “I call the room with the ocean view.”

“That’s not how it works,” Hamin said, already dragging two duffel bags out from the trunk. “We draw a lot for rooms.”

“Too late,” Bamby replied with a wink, sauntering up the porch steps like a smug prince. “I already called dibs.”

As soon as Bamby’s back was turned, Eunho leaned in toward Hamin as he whispered. “Just give it to him. I wanna have sex with the ocean view, too.”

Hamin gave him a deadpan look. “Very romantic.”

Eunho smirked. “See what I mean? He’s not even trying to be sexy, but with him wearing a sleeveless shirt like that—I’m already losing brain cells.”

“You’re really head over heels for him,” Hamin muttered as he slung a bag over his shoulder.

“I am,” Eunho admitted without hesitation, grinning wider.

“Don’t drool.”

“Ah, right.” Eunho quickly wiped his drooling mouth with his hand.

The house turned out to have only two bedrooms, a living room with wide windows, and a back patio that opened straight onto the sand. It was perfect! By lot, Eunho and Bamby ended up getting the bigger room with an ocean view. And that naturally made Hamin share a smaller room with Yejun.

Eunho fist-bumped Hamin discreetly as they carried their stuff in.

“Nice. Everything’s just falling into place,” Eunho whispered.

“Don’t get too excited or you’ll self-destruct before nightfall.”

As Hamin stepped into his room, he started overthinking everything. Hamin was sneaking glances at Yejun, who stripped off his shirt and changed into a plain white t-shirt and beach shorts. He could see Yejun’s smooth skin, his lean legs, and his damp hair slicked slightly to his forehead because of the sweat.

Hamin stared a second too long.

God help me.

“I’m going insane,” he mumbled to himself as he rummaged through his bag and pulled out a sunscreen.

“Hm?” Yejun looked over. “You say something?”

“NOPE. Just—uh… It’s hot in here,” Hamin blurted out.

Yejun nodded, “Yeah, still kinda warm even though I already turned on the AC.” He gave the mirror one last look before turning back. “Alright. I’ll be outside. You get changed and meet us at the beach?”

“Yeah,” Hamin said faintly, watching Yejun walk out of the room.

The door clicked shut. Hamin sank onto the bed, covered his face with both hands, and groaned.

I really am going INSANE.

Not long after, the four of them were already on the beach. Towels laid out, Bluetooth speaker playing upbeat summer songs, the cooler filled with cold drinks, and sunscreen smeared onto every visible inch of skin.

They started with swimming. Eunho chased Bamby into the waves while Bamby screamed and splashed in defense. Meanwhile, Hamin tried to act normal, floating in the water beside Yejun, who was casually adjusting his goggles. Then they played beach dodgeball.

After the games, the four of them cooled off with drinks in hand while watching the tide come in. Bamby wandered off a bit to sit on a ring buoy by the beach, taking selfies with the sparkling sea behind him. His hair was damp, glossy lips, and his shirt clung slightly from seawater.

Eunho sat a few meters away on the sand and watched.

Oh no. Oh no. This is dangerous. This is a violation of boyfriend rights. How is he real? Why does he look like a CF model who just committed a sexy crime?

Bamby tilted his head, trying to adjust the camera angle, and suddenly lifted his feet—and that’s when Eunho snapped. He stood up right away, marched towards Bamby like a possessed man, before throwing himself right on top of the pink hair.

“Wha—Eunho?!” Bamby yelped, startled.

“You were being too sexy,” Eunho said, dead serious.

“I was taking a selfie! What are you doing?!”

“Saving lives. Mine, specifically.”

Bamby flushed red, half-laughing and half-mad, trying to push him off. But Eunho just held him even closer.

“Eunho, you’re heavy,” Bamby complained.

“I’m not letting you flaunt that sexiness to Hamin and Yejun hyung.”

“You’re being ridiculous,” Bamby huffed with a laugh, but then he froze. Something hard pressed against him through Eunho’s pants, and he immediately knew what it was. His eyes widened. “Eunho… are you hard?”

Eunho stiffened, caught off guard. “Wha—” He scrambled up in a rush, covering the specific part of his pants. Oh God, he cleared his throat before leaning in and whispering with a low voice, “Seriously, hyung… we need to talk tonight.”

Bamby blinked at that, his heart stuttering.

Meanwhile, Hamin watched the couple being cutie-patooties from afar, sipping a canned drink and shaking his head. “So this is what cheesy looks like in physical form,” he murmured.

Yejun walked over with a towel slung around his neck. “You okay?”

Hamin startled slightly, quickly straightening his posture. “Y-Yeah! Great. Fantastic. Hydrated.”

Yejun raised a brow. “You look a little red.”

“Too much sun,” Hamin mumbled.

“It’s been cloudy for the last thirty minutes.”

“I’m just easily getting red from the sunburn.”

“I see,” Yejun smiled. “Want to walk for a bit? The tide’s going out.”

Hamin froze. Okay, this is it! The moment. The plan. His time!!!

“Sure,” he said, voice slightly too high. “Let’s… walk.”

Hamin glanced over his shoulder toward Eunho, who was still holding onto Bamby like a clingy sea otter. Then he saw Eunho silently give him a thumbs up behind Bamby’s back.

Hamin sighed.

Please let me survive.

*********

The two of them strolled side by side, the soft sand sinking under their steps as the waves crashed gently in the distance. The sky was painted with bright orange, the kind of view that should’ve been perfect for a confession.

“Wah… so pretty,” Yejun said, eyes fixed on the horizon.

“Yeah…” Hamin agreed, though he wasn’t looking at the sea. His heart was pounding so loud it almost drowned out by the sound of the waves.

“Smell that?” Yejun said, breathing the open air. “It’s refreshing. I always love the ocean.”

“Yeah, me too,” Hamin muttered. Focus. Confess. “Anyway, um… the weather’s nice.”

“Right,” Yejun replied. “It’s good. Feels… easy.” Then Yejun faced Hamin with his angelic smile. “Wouldn't it be nice if we could live by the beach?”

We? What does he mean by ‘we’? Does he want to live… with me?

Hamin flustered, nodding too hard. “Y-yes! It would be nice, I like it… a lot.”

Yejun glanced at him, amused. “What’s wrong with you? You look flustered since this afternoon.”

“No, I’m not,” Hamin lied, nearly tripping over a shell. “I’m just… excited.”

They walked a little more as the conversation continued. When they were in a comfortable silence, Yejun tipped his head back, watching seagulls wheel across the sky. But Hamin watched Yejun instead.

Okay, this is it. The light is perfect. The ocean is dramatic. The mood is nice. Say it. Say it now.

He inhaled, turning to face Yejun. “Hyung, I—”

Suddenly, a sharp pinch landed on his toe.

“—AACK!” Hamin’s face twisted in pain, instantly hopping on one foot. “Ow—ow—ow!”

“Ya! What happened?” Yejun grabbed his arm to steady him.

“Something bit me!” Hamin clutched his leg dramatically and immediately looked down. “A CRAB! THERE’S A— IT’S BITING ME!” Hamin yelped, flailing as a tiny crab latched onto his toe.

Yejun burst into laughter, though he tried very hard not to. “Okay, okay, don’t kick it. You’ll make it angrier.”

“This isn’t funny!” Hamin cried, flailing around. “I’m dying.”

YEAH I’M GONNA DIE FROM EMBARRASSMENT.

“You’re not dying. It’s smaller than my thumb!” Yejun said between gasps of laughter, crouching down to shoo the crab away. “Hey, little guy. Please release my friend.”

The crab stubbornly clung. Hamin felt his soul leave his body, cursing himself for ruining the perfect moment. Of all times… stupid crab!

“Hyung, if I don’t make it, tell my parents I loved them.”

“Don’t be so dramatic. You sound like Eunho now. You’ve been hanging out with him too much.”

“Yeah, blame Eunho for that.”

Yejun chuckled, then gently guided Hamin’s foot into the seawater. “Okay, on three. One… two…”

Right then, a gentle wave rolled in, lifting the crab off like a tiny boat, and it finally released Hamin’s toe. Hamin collapsed into Yejun’s arms with a groan of relief. “I hate crab.”

“No, you love crab,” Yejun chuckled, steadying him. “You just don’t love it when it bites you.”

They stayed like that for a moment, only the ocean wave was heard around them. Hamin’s heart pounded so loudly he swore Yejun could feel it through his shirt.

Yejun glanced down at Hamin’s toe. “No blood. Just… a little kiss mark from the crab.”

“Great.” Hamin covered his face as he muttered. “I was just trying to say something cool, you know.”

Yejun’s voice softened. “I know.”

Hamin peeked at him. “Huh?”

Yejun’s hand brushed the sand from Hamin’s skin. “I’m not going anywhere. So… try again when your toe feels a little less hurt. Okay?”

Hamin swallowed hard, then gave a small nod. “O-okay…”

Yejun’s eyes softened as he held out Hamin’s hand. “Come on. Let’s walk a bit more.”

Hamin squeezed his hand, cheeks blushing, heart thudding.

Okay. Not ruined. Just delayed. I’ll say it.

Soon.

*********

That night, the beach house smelled like grilled seafood and something slightly burnt—thanks to Eunho accidentally leaving the garlic bread in the oven too long. Bamby nagged him mercilessly while Hamin and Yejun saved the night by tossing together a quick pasta.

After dinner and some jokes, Eunho suggested drinks and Truth or Dare, because what’s a beach trip without a little fun game? So, they ended up sitting on the floor, a half-empty soju bottle rolling between them, cheeks pink from the alcohol and laughter.

“Hamin!” Eunho said, pointing, “Truth or dare?”

Hamin raised an eyebrow. “Dare.”

Yejun immediately leaned forward. “I dare you to do ten push-ups… while singing a trot song.”

“Easy,” Hamin smirked. He dropped down, steadying himself with one hand, and started singing. They were all laughing by the eighth push-up because Hamin’s voice was suddenly off-pitch. Even Bamby clutched Eunho’s arm to steady himself from how hard he was laughing.

Then it was Bamby’s turn.

“Truth,” he said smoothly.

Eunho narrowed his eyes, “So, do you think about me when you were jerkin—”

“EUNHO!” Bamby shrieked, red-faced. “Too far!”

Hamin practically choked on his drink when he heard the question, as Yejun only laughed his heart out seeing the couple’s banter.

“I’m just asking,” Eunho said innocently. “You said truth.”

“Yeah, but not that truth!” Bamby muttered, hitting Eunho’s thigh with an embarrassed pout.

Eventually, the game turned into chaos—drunken karaoke, random stories, and slurred nonsense that only made sense in their tipsy state. At some point, Hamin collapsed on the beanbag chair, completely passed out. And that left three of them still awake: Yejun idly scrolling on his phone, while Eunho and Bamby moved outside, sitting on the porch. The night air was warm, and above them the sky stretched wide, scattered with stars.

Bamby had his knees pulled up to his chest, a blanket draped around his shoulders. And Eunho sat next to him, leaning slightly on his boyfriend.

“You didn’t have to ask that question,” Bamby said quietly, though his voice showed no anger. “You embarrassed me.”

Eunho chuckled. “You’re cute when you’re embarrassed.”

Bamby gave him a sideways look. “You’re annoying when you’re drunk.”

“I’m barely drunk,” Eunho said, resting his head against the back of the chair. “Just a little braver than usual.”

They sat in silence for a bit, the distant sound of the waves soothing.

“So,” Eunho finally said. “I had a mission on this trip.”

“A mission?”

“Yeah.”

He turned slightly toward Bamby.

“I wanted us to finally have a real… night. You know.”

Bamby blinked. “A night?”

Eunho nodded. “Not just kissing. Something more.”

Bamby was silent for a second, then cooed, “Is that why you tackled me on the ring buoy earlier?”

“I was protecting your purity.”

“By getting hard and grinding on me in public?”

“Gently.”

Bamby laughed softly, amused by his boyfriend’s dumbness.

“I know we haven’t… done that yet,” Bamby said after a moment. “But it’s not because I don’t want to. I just... I don’t want it to be a thing we rush. I want it to feel like us. Not like some checkbox we’re supposed to tick.”

Eunho’s gaze softened. He reached out and took Bamby’s hand, threading their fingers together.

“I don’t care how long it takes,” Eunho said. “I just—God, I sound so cheesy—I just really like you. Like, to the point it makes my chest hurt sometimes.”

Bamby turned to him, eyes shimmering in the dark.

“That’s a weird symptom. You should get that checked out.”

“Shut up,” Eunho laughed, nudging him.

Bamby chuckled softly before he slowly leaned in closer and kissed Eunho on the lips. It wasn't a quick peck like usual. It was deeper, more intentional. Like a signal, wordless answer that Eunho had been waiting for.

When they pulled away, Eunho’s voice dropped.

“So… no pressure. But do you wanna… go inside?”

Bamby looked at him for a long moment, then stood up and held out his hand.

“Only if you keep the cheesy lines out of your mouth.”

Eunho grinned and took his hand.

“Too bad, I got a whole list of them.”

They disappeared inside, the porch light flickering behind them, leaving only the ocean, the stars, and the lingering echo of laughter in the night air.

*********

Hamin woke up, the ceiling fan spinning lazily above him. His head felt hazy, but not too dizzy. It was bearable. He shifted on the living room beanbag. To his right, Yejun was sitting cross-legged on the rug, back against the sofa, while scrolling his phone.

Yejun noticed the movement and looked over, smiling. “Oh, you awake?”

Hamin blinked, then nodded. “Mm.”

“Dizzy? Nausea?” Yejun asked, voice low, like he was afraid to startle him.

Hamin gave a small shake of his head. “I’m okay.”

“Good.” Yejun locked his phone and set it aside. “Eunho and Bamby are already in their room. You should sleep in our room too. It’s warmer, and you won’t catch a cold out here.”

Hamin almost said yes on instinct—but it hit him. Confession. He hadn’t done it. Again.

His stomach flipped. Idiot. You wasted the whole day—the crab, drunk nap, everything. Panicking at the thought of another missed chance, Hamin reached out and grabbed Yejun’s wrist.

Yejun’s brows lifted. “Hamin?”

Hamin swallowed hard. “Wait, hyung, I… there’s something I need to say.” He drew a breath, steadying his voice. “You know we’ve been friends for years. And I… I like you. But not in the way ‘I like you because you’re cool’ like. I… I…” He exhaled deeply, trying to formulate the words to sound romantic, but it was difficult when he had just woken up from being drunk.

Beside him, Yejun just stared at him. Stunned into silence for a heartbeat.

“I kept waiting for the perfect timing, but it never came, so…” Hamin began staring Yejun deeply into his eyes. He took a deep breath before continuing, “So, w-would you—”

“Aaaahhh…”

Both of them froze.

A loud moan suddenly cut through the moment. Muffled, coming from the other bedroom.

Hamin’s mouth stuttered as he still tried to push through, “I—I want…”

But another banging sound and moan followed. And ultimately, they heard Bamby’s voice so clearly, breathy and sinful, calling, “Eunho—Nggh… so good.”

Hamin’s soul tried to exit his body again, “You gotta be kidding me.”

Yejun’s face went red in one second. “Okay—nope.” He stood, grabbed Hamin’s hand, and pulled him to get up.

They hurried down the hallway and went into their room, closing the door with a hard shut. For a few seconds, they just stood there, facing each other by the door in silence.

Hamin finally croaked, “Our friends are… very healthy.”

“Mm,” Yejun said, voice thin. “Right.”

They both coughed, looked anywhere but at each other. Hamin’s cheeks burned like a steamed crab. Yejun wasn’t doing much better.

After a moment, Yejun cleared his throat and looked straight into Hamin’s eyes once again. “So… what were you saying before?” He asked.

Hamin opened his mouth. He wanted to say something, but suddenly his brain blanked. Every word he’d rehearsed had disappeared.

“I—uh—I was saying… Uh—I… Y-you…” he stuttered nervously.

Yejun bit back a smile. “You and I what?”

Hamin hid his face in his hands. “Give me… ten seconds to reboot.”

Yejun waited patiently until the world outside their door finally faded to a hush.

“I like you…” Hamin finally began. “I’m nervous to say anything. But… I really like you, hyung. So…” Hamin swallowed. “Would you… Would you be my boyfriend?”

Yejun blinked at him only for a second before closing the distance between them as his lips pressed gently against Hamin’s.

Hamin’s eyes went wide in shock, frozen in place. But the warmth of Yejun’s mouth against his own… it felt so right, like his entire chest would burst out like fireworks. Just like everything he had been waiting for all along. Yejun’s lips were soft, and Hamin thought he might actually faint again if his heart didn’t calm down.

When Yejun finally pulled back, Hamin could see the older’s face was completely red. Yejun stared down for a second nervously, trying to catch his breath.

“I… I’ve liked you for a long time, too,” Yejun admitted. “I just… couldn’t bring myself to say it. So I left hints here and there, but you…” He gave a weak laugh, “You’re really clueless, Hamin.”

Hamin’s jaw dropped. “Wait, what?”

“Yeah.” Yejun sighed, smiling sheepishly. “Honestly… I was planning to confess this afternoon. That’s why I asked you to walk with me. But then…” He gave Hamin a look, half-amused, half-exasperated. “The crab stole my timing.”

Hamin groaned, burying his face in his hands. “Stupid crab! I knew it!”

Yejun chuckled softly. “So I waited for another perfect moment. But then you passed out.” His eyes softened, but there was a little sparkle in them. “And just when I thought tonight was ruined again, you suddenly confessed. Honestly… I’m so happy right now I feel like I could pass out instead.”

For a moment, Hamin just stared at him in disbelief, brain still trying to catch up with what he was hearing. Then, without thinking, he threw his arms around Yejun, holding him tightly and pulling Yejun closer until there was no space left between them. He buried his face against Yejun’s shoulder, inhaling that clean scent he’d always secretly liked.

“Seriously, hyung…” Hamin’s voice was muffled with relief before pulling back just enough to look at Yejun again. “I really like you. So much. I could die in happiness right now.”

Yejun’s lips curved into the softest smile, his hands sliding up to hold Hamin’s back as if afraid to let go. “Me too,” he whispered. “I’ve been waiting to hear that for so long.”

Hamin’s chest tightened, and before he knew it, he quickly kissed Yejun again, a little firmer this time, pouring every ounce of feeling into it.

They stayed wrapped in each other’s arms for a long while, laughing quietly at how everything kept trying to ruin their moment. And yet, beneath the steady beat of their hearts and the quiet sighs that slipped between them.

For once, against all odds, they still found their way to each other.

*********

The scent of toasted bread and scrambled eggs drifted through the house. The morning light poured gently through the curtains, and the salty sea breeze came from the open windows.

Bamby walked out of the bedroom in Eunho’s oversized hoodie and messy bed hair. He rubbed his eyes, trying to ignore the slight ache in his back and the lingering heat under his skin after the night before.

He stopped at the kitchen entrance. Yejun was standing at the stove in pajama pants and a loose shirt, humming a song as he flipped pancakes. Hamin sat at the table, pretending to scroll on his phone, but his smile gave him away.

“Morning,” Bamby mumbled, walking over to grab a glass of water.

Yejun turned with a grin. “Sleep well?”

Before Bamby could answer, Eunho strolled in behind him, shirtless and annoyingly glowing, his hair tousled, which made it very obvious how his night went.

“I did,” Eunho said smugly, grabbing a slice of toast.

Bamby shoved him lightly in the stomach. “Stop it.”

Eunho only grinned wider, leaning down to press a soft peck to Bamby’s lips. Hamin choked on his drink.

“Okay, wow. Subtle,” Hamin muttered.

“Says the guy who went mysteriously missing for two hours and came back looking like a limp,” Eunho shot back.

Yejun smirked but didn’t say anything. He placed a plate of pancakes on the table and sat down beside Hamin. So close that their shoulders and knees brushed.

Bamby’s eyes flicked between them, then raised a knowing brow. “Oh?”

Hamin immediately went red again. “We… talked.”

“And?” Eunho asked, leaning forward with interest.

Yejun casually reached for the syrup, drizzling it over the pancakes like nothing was out of the ordinary. “He likes me,” Yejun said with a shrug.

“Hyung!” Hamin hissed.

Yejun turned to him with a soft smile. “And I like him back.”

Silence.

Then Bamby let out a delighted gasp and clapped. “Finally!”

Eunho laughed, shaking his head. “God, it took forever.”

“I tried!” Hamin groaned into his hands.

“You both did good,” Bamby said, nudging his foot against Eunho’s under the table. “Looks like this trip worked out for everyone.”

Their eyes met, and Eunho’s expression softened. “Yeah,” he murmured. “It really did.”

The four of them smiled and chuckled as if they knew what was on each other’s minds. Indeed, nice morning, with stolen glances and casual touches that brought new feelings. As the waves crashed softly in the distance and the sun rose higher, the four of them sat at the same table, no longer carrying secret feelings and missions. Only new beginnings.
