In the Hazbin Hotel fandom, Velvette is one of the popular character that is both loved and hated by many of its fans. Some fans love her character and how she stands her ground, a few even consider her to be a "girl boss" (for treating her workers like shit, mind you), others seem to dislike her for being straight out rude and bitchy. The way she is introduced in episode 2 already comes off as a bad start, and episode 3 just gives us more reasons to not like her. Personally, I believe that they changed her personality up completely, as she is supposed to represent the new generations, yet acts like a spoiled child rather than being a women who can be childish and ACTUALLY is up to date with the latest trends and fashion.
In the pilot, none of the Vees had any lines of dialog. They had Sinstagram accounts around 2020, which can tell you details about their personalities. Velvette was more of a "wolf in sheep's clothing" type of villain. She was childish, crazy, and was only a social media overlord back then. In the show, that seemed to fly out the window. Velvette was more rude, demanding, and doesn't seem to care much about her image, as she openly disrespected two of oldest Overlords.
She left a bad impression on me from the start, I think she can truly be better and liked more if Vivziepop just went on with the pilot Velvette. She is supposed to resemble a doll? Which I didn't know at first. Pilot Velvette actually fits the part of being one, because you can kind of tell. Which is why I bring you...

Velvette will still be a villain, but a very fun one. She is crazy, childish, and a little hyper. She's a wolf in sheep's clothing, and likes to keep people under the illusion that she's the "kindest" of the Vees, when that is not the actual case. While she *is* the nicest of the 3 Vees, she won't show her true colors unless it's to protect her image being ruined or when she's genuinely upset. She's killed demons over sweets, and eaten food from off the floor, she's actually pretty nice to be around when you're close with her.
Working for Velvette isn't too bad, but her souls know better than to upset her or put stress on the doll Overlord. She treats her employees well, and may lash out on them from time to time. She enjoys toying with her workers and teasing them, otherwise she treats them good overall. Velvette is confirmed to be lesbian in the show, which confused me. Personally, I think that this is represented horribly, with the treatment of her workers and how she comes off about women in general. She's still lesbian in my version, of course, and LOVES to see women of all looks and body types. She is not the creator of "Love Potion" and instead Val is.
The only reasons why she's apart of the Vees is because Val and Vox take her seriously and treat her well, on top of that seeing potential in what she could do. She thinks that with the power they all hold, they could rule over Hell one day and see every demon succumb to them...
