Chapter Text

“Miss?” A woman called into the drawing room.

“Yes?” the woman replied, turning ever so slightly, the Ruby necklace reflecting the light around her.

“There’s a letter from Dr Black for you.”

“Let me see.” the woman said, out stretching her hand as the other woman placed the letter in.

“A dinner party?” she asked, “When is this?”

“Tomorrow evening ma’am.” the older woman replied.

“Thank you, Susan. You may take tomorrow off.”

“Of course ma’am.” Susan responds, closing the door behind her.

[12 Hours Later]

The woman arrives at the house with her invitation in hand.

Stones crunch underneath her feet as she walks to the front door, rings the doorbell and the door opens.

“Welcome, Miss Scarlett.” a voice announces as she steps through.

“Thank you for having me, where are the hosts?” Scarlett asks, walking to the library.

“They shall be down soon, for now you may call on me for anything, just shout.” they smiled.

“What do I call you?” she asked.

“Morticia.”

Chapter Text

“Letter for you sir.” A young man announced as he enters the room and places the letter on the desk.

“Oh? Uh thank you.” The other man replied, reaching over to the desk to pick it up.

“A dinner party? Tonight?” He said to himself.

Immediately after finishing reading, his eyes darted to the phone and reached out towards it.

“Helen, dear?” He began, “I’ve been invited to a dinner at Dr Black’s house, unfortunately I can’t bring a plus one.”

“When is this, Reggie?” She replied over the phone.

“Tonight, I’ll be home tomorrow evening, my dear.” He replied, scanning over the letter again.

“Stay safe and don’t forget I love you.” She said before ending the call and leaving him to bask in the silence of his office.

However, without wasting a minute, he begin to pack up all his work and leave everything for the following day and immediately rushed to his car.

“Where is this place?” He said to himself.

After what felt like hours of driving, he noticed another car at what seems to be a mansion.

“Is this the place? I’ll go ask anyways.” He mumbled.

DING DONG

“Ah,” A woman’s voice echoed from inside, “One second!”

He waited, taking in the surroundings as footsteps echoed and scrambled to the door.

“Good evening,” the woman began, “How may i help you tonight?”

“Oh hello,” He replied, “I’m wondering where this address is?”
He held out the invitation towards the woman, who nodded in acceptance.

“Well, sir,” She replied, “It seems you’re in the right place.”

“Really? Oh I thought I had the wrong place.” He laughed.

“Not at all,” She replied with a smile, “You may call me Morticia.”

“Wonderful to meet you, Morticia” He smiled.

“Wonderful to meet you too, Mr Slate-Grey.”

Chapter Text

The phone began to ring through the office, a fire illuminating the room as someone answered the noise source.

“Hello?”

“Hello sir, a letter has arrived addressed to a “Dr Orchid”, would you like me to return it to the sender?” a young woman asked, presumably from the other side of the door.

“Oh?” They answered, “Send it through, I’d like to look at it. I’ve been expecting a letter for an alias, this might be it.”

“Of course, Sir.”

Right at that moment, the woman clicked open the door, her shadow illuminating behind her as her footsteps were muffled by the large carpeted floor below her.

“Ah,” They began, “Rose! How are you? How is your uncle?”

“He’s doing great,” She laughed, “So am I, here’s your letter.”

“Thank you! Now, you go and enjoy your evening and day off tomorrow, okay?” They smiled whilst taking the letter out of her hands.

“Of course,” Rose replied as she turned to walk out the door, “Have a wonderful evening!”

“Well,” They sighed, standing from their desk, “I best be on my way towards the estate.”

A Few Hours Later..

“Is this the place? It’s very dull.” They mumbled, stepping up to the porch and ringing the doorbell.

The door clicked open a minute later, revealing a young woman, smiling brightly as she stood in the doorway.

“Hello Sir,” She began, “How may I help you this evening?”

“I received a letter today,” They replied, “This being the address listed onto the paper.”

“May I please see this letter?” She asked, outstretching her hand for the letter.

They placed it into her hands as she meticulously scanned over and nodded to herself.

“Good evening, Dr Orchid,” She replied, “My name is Morticia, please follow me if you don’t mind.”

She opened the door further as they stepped into the estate’s building, she offered to take their coat.

“Please follow me.” She said, walking ahead to the drawing room.

The door clicked open and revealed a pair of people talking by the window, holding drinks as they turned to stare at the pair by the door.

“Miss Scarlett, Mr Slate-Grey,” She said, “Please meet Dr Orchid. If you need anything between the three of you, please call out.”

“Wait!” The now know Dr Orchid called out, “What’s your name? You never told me.”

“Please call me, Morticia.” She smiled, closing the door behind her.

“How many are here now?” A man called out from the balcony above.

“Three.” Morticia replied, “Scarlett, Slate-Grey and Orchid. Three left to arrive.”

“Good, let us know when they arrive.”

“Of course, Agent Gray.”
