Chapter Text

Lumine hated waking up early, with a passion. She worked Friday Nights at Angel’s share downtown to get through Uni and so she didn’t see many Saturday mornings. However, when her new neighbor moved in, it was a constant battle with herself not to storm over there and punch him.

She had only met him in passing, downstairs getting her mail, but he didn’t seem very friendly. He was handsome, pale blue hair, and a sort of mysterious aura around him. Not the type of person she’d usually go for, but she’d admit he was definitely handsome. She shrugged her thoughts off as he left the building.

He didn’t seem like there type that sang. Especially not a pop song in the shower, but he did. And it was infuriating. Terribly Off-key, and a higher pitch that only dogs and Lumine could hear and the song changed every day. Today his choice of song was ‘Where have you been’ by Rihanna. Usually, she wouldn’t have minded thew song of the radio, hut her neighbor had butchered it.

She yanked her pillow over her head and groaned into it. She’d gotten home later than usual, and she was exhausted. And she was always grumpy when she woke up.
Instead of waiting for it to pass, she hopped out of bed, tugged her slippers on and stormed into the hallway, banging on his door with an iron fist. He didn’t answer at first but after another pounding on the door, she heard the water turn off.

“Do you know how early it is!” Lumine screamed, not even trying to hold back her anger, she headset even noticed he was only in a towel.

“Haha Sorry about that.” He apologized, with a lace of annoyance in his voice. “Didn’t know these walls were so thin.” He mumbled to himself, scratching the back of his head.

“Yeah, well they are! So please stop singing so early in the morning!” Lumine pouted.

“It’s not even early its past 10.” The blue haired man raised an eyebrow.

“Really?” Lumine furrowed her eyebrows, only just noticing he was shirtless.

“Look, I really got to get to work.” He sighed. “How about I take you out as an apology?”

“Fine.” Lumine pouted again, making him chuckle.

“I’m Dottore by the way.” He held out his hand for her too shake.

“Lumine.” She sighed, accepting the shake.

“And hey, I’d appreciate it of you could wear some more clothes before you come storming over to yell at me, its awfully distracting.” Leaning against the door, with an amused grin on his face.

“Ugh you Pervert!” Lumine’s face turned red in embarrassment, she’d been so angry she hadn’t even realized she came out in just a tank top and her underwear. Before she cold embarrass herself even more, she swiftly scurried back to her room, hearing his deep laugh as she did.

Lumine closed the door behind her heavier than she meant as her cat, Paimon, meowed at her, most likely expecting food.

“Yeah, yeah… I’m coming.” She sighed.

Lumine didn’t see, or hear, Dottore for the next few weeks. Hoping his little morning singalongs were finally over.

It was a Friday when Lumine had a night off from work. She spent the morning running errands, she managed to do all the laundry that had been pilling up for weeks, and the dishes that shed been putting off. She even bought Paimon the expensive pet food that she liked so much. That afternoon was spent catching up on her favorite shows with a tub of ice cream. In the evening, she took a shower, hoping to get the day off of her. She’d finished washing her hair when she first heard it, the sound of as bed frame creaking, followed by loud feminine moans. “

oh my gods.” Lumine groaned, slamming her head back against the tile wall in annoyance.

Instead of going over there, she packed a tote bag of clothes and headed to Aether’s apartment for the night, putting Paimon under one arm and her pillow under the other. She made she ti slam the door with extra effort in hopes they would hear her.

The next morning, when she finally headed back to her apartment, she spotted Dottore in the hallway, flicking through his mail.

“Oh hey, how was your night?” Dottore greeted.

“Hm fine. How was yours?” Lumine questioned, monotone.

“Meh, shit company.” He shrugged.

“Ew. Didn’t need to know that.” Lumine scrunched up her face, side-eyeing him.

“What? No my friends came over. Fucked in my bed then left. They’re all freaks, really.” He sighed.

Lumine blinked at him. “Ohhhh. That’s who I could hear.” She sighed with a small chuckle.

“You heard that? I thought you worked nights?” He questioned.

“Only on Fridays, but I had the night off. it was nice and peaceful until my shower was rudely interrupted. How’s your wall by the way?” She joked.

Dottore chuckled deeply. ”Ah then sorry about that. You free later? I’ll make it up to you?” He questioned.

“I start work at 9, but I’m free before that.” She told him.

“Great, ill pick you up at 5?” He questioned. “Wear something nice.” He winked.

“Sure.” She said with a smile, as her heart fluttered.

Early that evening, lumine put on a nice light purple satin dress, some slightly darker purple shoes, she put her favorite pair of earrings on and waited on the couch for Dottore, a little to excited than she’d like to admit, and ready half an hour earlier than she was supposed to be, but she didn’t plan on telling him that… ever.

When he did finally knock on her door, she practically squealed to herself quietly, scaring paimon in the process. She composed herself as she went too open the door, nonchalantly.

“Hey.” She greeted.

“Hey yourself.” He smirked.

He was dressed in some formal black pants and a white shirt and matching black blazer, with the top few buttons undone. He pulled out a small rose from behind his back, handing it to her. “Thank you.” She smiled.

Lumine turned around towards Paimon. “Don’t eat my slippers.” She told her, before turning back to walk out the door, closing it softly behind her and locking it.

“Shall we?” He questioned, holding out his arm for her. She smiled and took his arm.
