You shot yourself two days ago. I don’t know where you got the gun, but it doesn’t matter, because the end result was the same. One bullet, in your chest, where most people think their heart is. You missed. You coded a bunch, I don’t know how many times, doesn’t matter, until you died yesterday. September 21, 10:47 in the morning, you died.
And isn’t it funny? You had so much going for you. Your job, your pets, you even had a girlfriend you loved. Somehow, Laura Lee and I wound up together, sobbing in a coffee shop, getting weird looks. She clutched the engagement ring on the silver chain around her neck. The love of my life, gone.
I was supposed to be the one killing myself. I have nothing going for me, I’m a burnout, I have no future. You didn’t bother leaving us anything. You didn’t even leave a note. That’s not true - Laura Lee is your next of kin. She has everything you ever owned. She has to sell it all or donate everything, even give your pets away, because she still lives with her parents and they never knew. Now they’ll never know. My parents will never know, either, not about the way my heart fluttered for you. Not even that you existed.
How does existing work for you now? Your body is still here - I doubt they’ve cremated you yet. But you’re gone.
