Chapter Text
“President?”
Damn it. He couldn’t stop looking at his stupid, pretty face. He would never acknowledge it himself, but Aoi Akane was a very pretty boy. He had freckles, light, long eyelashes, ginger, slightly messy hair, bright, amber eyes.. He was beautiful.
“Ah. Sorry, I spaced out.”
Aoi didn’t pick up on it, but Teru had everything but work on his mind. No, not just that— he had him on his mind. Teru’s eyes would shift constantly. The wall, the clock, the papers, then the beautiful boy sitting next to him. How was he supposed to focus? His energy was practically drained. Classwork, talking to people that he didn’t know.. It was tiring. Of course, he wasn’t at his limit— but he just needed to wind down, you know?
“Thought so. Finish your work, alright?”
He adjusted his glasses, then continued reading the student council documents in front of him. His eyes were beautiful. He really did look perfect. The color of his hair and eyes complimented his warm skin tone. Teru’s never seen anybody prettier. He himself had often gotten compliments for his beauty, but he never thought he was all that. Sure, he recognizes he’s conventionally attractive, but not what the girls tell him. That he’s the ‘most handsome guy they’ve ever seen,’ or that he looks like ‘a prince.’
“Yes. My bad.”
He looks down, picking up a pen to start calculating costs of.. he doesn’t care what right now. Was he really that pretty? Prettier than the boy sitting next to him? He didn’t think so. Oh, and don’t even get him started on his voice. Aoi Akane has the most soothing voice he had ever heard. Well, maybe not when he was yelling at him, but still! Thinking about it, Teru loves everything about that guy. More people need to appreciate the boy sitting next to him.
Enough of that, though. He needs to focus. What is he doing? Right, that’s right. Calculating the costs of the spring dance. Decorations, food, souvenirs and such. The school dance that the majority of the student body had been looking forward to. The school dance that everybody asks their crush to. Yes, that school dance.
He had always hated these dances, actually. Too many girls he didn’t know asking him to it, too much stress around planning, too much assigning work to people who may or may not do their job. It was pretty annoying. This time of year, the student council works with the gardening club to have school-grown flowers be part of the decorations. This year, Aoi is in charge of communicating with the gardening club. Small problem; one of the students in that club is Akane Aoi. The girl he has a massive crush on.
Every time Aoi sees her, his eyes light up. Every time Akane sees him, she smiles. Akane is very pretty, actually. She’s one of the most popular girls in the school. She’s very nice. Well, on the outside, at least.
How was Aoi supposed to focus when the girl he’s been chasing since he was a kid is there? Everyone knows that she’s his favorite person in the whole world. There isn’t a single thing that Aoi Akane loves more than Akane Aoi.
There are a few things that Teru loves. He loves his little sister Tiara, his little brother Kou, and his vice president Aoi. He doesn’t think he can pick a favorite. Categorize, probably. But not rank.
“When’s your next meeting with the gardening club?”
Aoi glances up for a moment at him, then back down to his paper.
“Thursday. Why?”
Teru writes down a few numbers in a few boxes
“Just curious. We need the flowers by Friday next week, alright?”
Aoi rolls his eyes at that. Which, without realizing it, drives Teru crazy. Anger? No. Teru is—typically—a calm person. Aoi has an attitude quite often, Teru knows that. But, Jesus, he can hardly keep himself composed sometimes. When Aoi messes with his hair, when he rolls his eyes, when he’s sarcastic, when he cleans his lenses.. Teru just can’t think straight. Literally.
“Yeah, yeah. I’ll have the arrangements ready by then.”
“Good. Hey, and actually focus this time, alright? We need this meeting to be as productive as possible.”
Aoi nodded, half blocking him out while he worked.
