I hate you, so why do I miss you?

Summary:

Crescent huffed.

'..Y-you..insufferable..bastard!'
He hissed at the man stood before him.

The side of the man's lips curled into a cruel smile.

'You've only brought this upon yourself, Have you not?' The man's words were laced with venom.
Gripping the half-smashed bottle tighter.

Crescent stared at the floor he was kneeling on for a small moment, before an amused chuckle emitted from his throat.

'You think..you can just do that..And get away with it?' Crescent panted.
Crescent look up, the crimson liquid now visibly dripping from his head into a small pool underneath him.

'..I'll make sure..That you never feel safe..EVER..AGAIN. INFERIOR FILTH!'
Crescent's chest heaved with sharp intakes of breath, a grin forming on their face as the uncontrollable, raw laughter got louder and louder, soon filling the room before unconsciousness clawed at him.

Chapter Text

Crescent huffed.

'..Y-you..insufferable..bastard!'
He hissed at the man stood before him.

The side of the man's lips curled into a cruel smile.

'You've only brought this upon yourself, Have you not?' The man's words were laced with venom.
Gripped the half-smashed bottle tighter.

INFERIOR FILTH!!'
Crescent's chest heaved with sharp intakes of breath, a grin forming on their face as the uncontrollable, raw laughter got louder and louder, soon filling the room before unconsciousness clawed at him.

Crescent soon stirred awake, blinding white lights offering an unwelcoming greeting as he slipped out of his dream.
Those filthy memories constantly torment his sleep.

'Still here...' He mutters, sitting up as he observes his surroundings of the familiar hospital room.
He leans back into the uncomfortable bed, his chest rising and falling as he breathes in the floral scent with a hint of chlorine that crept in the air.
He stares at the ceiling for a long while, the sound of the clock's obnoxious ticking irritating him.

Suddenly, the door clicks. Swinging wide open as a man in a white uniform entered the desolate room, watching Crescent's absent expression as his mind was preoccupied.

'..Crescent?'

Crescent snapped out of his thoughts, an uninterested look on his face as his head turned toward the sound.

'..You're being discharged today.'

Crescent was silent for a moment, before speaking with a tone filled to the brim with sarcasm.

'Great.'

He sighs before returning his gaze toward the ceiling once more.

[time skip cuz im too lazy 4 allat also changing to 1st person]

The breeze is cold, brushing against my skin. Yet it would barely even faze me, my body already cold. I walk down the icy path, stepping over cracks as if i were still a child, my eyes dazed and glossy as i stare at the dead blue sky, lost in thoughts.

No matter how hard i tried to forget, or how much i distracted myself. My thoughts always went in a painful loop, always circling back to HIM.
I cant get him out of my thoughts, my dreams, his scent still lingers throughout my apartment.

It hurts to think about, although i still look for him. He was unfortunately the only one who saw through me, the only one who knew whenever something was wrong, the only one who truly cared.

I hate you, so why do I miss you?

I continue my careless trodding, Him tormenting my thoughts.. But why? I don't need him. I never did. He was merely just an inferior follower, one that I let get close, one that I got close to, one that knows me too well, one that i let myself get vulnerable around, one that always got my favourite order from simple cafes, such..useless, and small actions that i took dearly to heart. And I hate that i did. I hate HIM. I hate how I miss him. But, there's no use dwelling in such useless patterns of thoughts for someone who's already gone. Well, not really. I was grieving over someone who's still alive, it feels like hes dead, though. Gone. Just a pathetic memory i miss.

Consumed in my thoughts, i lose my balance, causing me to fall over,
Yet, before i hit the floor, someone catches me.

'..Thank you.' I sigh.

'Anytime.' The awfully soothing voice responds.

I look up, trying to catch a glimpse of their face as they lift me onto my feet. Their face..Scarred, Stoic yet with a slight smile.

'...'

'Something wrong?' The voice says, noticing my silence and obnoxious staring.
Yet i feel his eyes scan over my features, as if taking them in.

'Sorry, I zoned out.' I mumble before looking off to the side awkwardly.

'Ah, I see..' He replied.

'...' I stay quiet without realising again, the growing awkward silence loud.

'I should get going.' I murmur, My hand staying a moment longer than necessary on his..rough, scarred yet gentle hand.
I sort my posture, running a shaky hand through my hair as i take a sharp intake of the bitter cold air.

I wanted to act normal, seem brave and confident, someone most would look up to. Yet I had ran like a nervous wimp. Why am I acting this way? It was just a simple action. I deserve to be treated well anyway.

..Why did he treat me as such a equal?! Does he not know who I am?!

I am..!..

...

...

Who am I?

I..

Whatever. Those thoughts aren't worth my time.

I reach home late, the sky a charcoal blue. My apartment looked as if it had been frozen in time. The empty beer bottles still littered on the counter, piles of unclean clothes, empty fridge, unmade bed.
..I've never been good at cleaning, or even basic hygiene. With no one to remind me like him-
...
I need to stop thinking about him.

I find some pyjamas, hoping they were clean. I stand in front of the mirror as i change, observing how my ribs slightly showed, my legs still scarred.
...
I don't want to look at my body anymore, its just useless anyway.

Yet, I stare at my face. Suddenly, the thought of the stranger whom had caught me from falling earlier. The way his eyes inspected my features.
I feel across the face I call mine, my hand dragging across the dry skin, before i reach the scar.
Caressing the stitched spot, The last i have of him.

To think, this is the last thing he gave me before we parted ways.

A terrible patch of stitches and rough healing.

I giggle, the giggling slowly spiralling into laughing. Raw, uncontrollable laughter.
How amusing this was. I hate him. I hate how I miss him. I hate how I crave him.

I hate everything about HIM.

My thoughts continue its dark theme, before a knock interrupts it. Awfully relieved that it did, I shove on the rest of my pyjamas, rushing to the door.

I answer, the stranger from earlier stood nervously.

'I uh, saw that you dropped something and before i could tell you, you had already ran off.' The stranger seemed to find it humorous how i had cowardly ran.

I'm so stupid..Why would i run??!..

I was silent with my thoughts berating me. Obviously, The stranger noticed.

'Hello?' The stranger chuckled, waving slightly in my face, the way he did it seemed as if he was forcing being friendly, seeming as if he'd never done it before. Maybe hes not the type to socialise? He didn't do it too close to me, maybe trying to respect me as he tried to catch my attention, off course he'd want to respect me.. i deserve everyone's respect!-

I realised i had stayed silent still.

'Ah, sorry!' I answer. Giggling, but more tame instead of insane.
'..Would you like to come in?' I say, trying to avoid awkwardness and the cold breeze sneaking its way through my door, already forgetting what he had said.

'..Sure.' He responds, the slight smile on his face once again.

As i remember the mess in my apartment, its already too late since i had already stepped out of the way to make space for him.

'S-sorry about the mess.' I nervously laughed, my face burning red with embarrassment.

'..I don't mind..' He reassured.

I let out a discreet sigh of relief.

I watch his eyes scan my apartment, taking it all in the same way as my features.

Yet, I realise.
Why?
Why does he make sure to memorise it?
It's strange, but I dismiss the thought.
Again, not worth my time.

I get lost in thought again, yet snapped out of it when asked a question.

'So, Whats your name?'

How dare he think he's worthy of my name!..
...
Well..
I guess he caught me..So I GUESS its only fair..

'Crescent!' The words sounding nervous and not any of the confidence i tried to force..Ugh!

'..Nice to meet you, Crescent.' His voice sounding more tender and soft..

Why??! I'm not someone who needs softness! I need respect!!

'Nice to meet you too.' I purr, giggling slightly.

What the?! Why am I acting like this!!

'You can call me..' He paused, as if he was thinking of a name..Whatever maybe he just forgot his name!
'Jasper.' He said.

'...'

I think of something to say, deciding to offer him a coffee.

'Would you like a coffee?' I ask, waiting patiently for an answer.

'Sure, I'll have one and leave you to sleep, as i see you already was prepared to.' He chuckled awfully sweet.

I swear, his chuckles were addicting like..sweet honey?

...

EW!! Why am I thinking of this?! I hate honey!! Why am i being-
...
Vulnerable.
For someone who is below me.

...

I make him the coffee, we talk about ourselves for a few minutes before he finishes his coffee and finally prepares to leave.

'Nice having some company for once.' I giggle as I watch him leave out the door.

'Stay safe.' He responds.

Was that a threat?

...

I hope not.

Later on in the night, I climb into the cold embrace of the bed. Letting myself drift to sleep, of course not without him haunting my thoughts before actually letting me sleep..

Although, I do manage to drift off...Hopefully not dreams torment me tonight.
