   Summary:

   Carlotta, overwhelmed by despair and humiliation caused by the mysterious events that occurred at the Palais Garnier after the second performance of Faust, plunges into a state of true paranoid hysteria, coming to doubt everyone around her.
   Everything changes, however, when she receives an unexpected and most unwelcome visit from Death itself, come to claim her life and get rid of La Carlotta once and for all. But he will propose to her a singular form of mercy: will she be willing to save herself by paying a price? In money, certainly. Or by prostituting herself to him as a form of total submission, until the complete extinction of her debt.
