“Do you remember when I died and you were sad, working too much and neglecting your interpersonal relationships just because I left to save the world?”
“Chloe, be quiet and let's go to sleep.” He complained. “It's 3 in the morning!”
“Good night, my love.” She gave a kiss to Raven, that was the nickname Heksvile had given him.
Happy, she settled into bed and hugged her partner. Tomorrow will be a rather long day —Twilight had told them in the morning about a stolen embargo in Jirga Para Lhao— and they need to be at their best. She felt Yuri get out of bed. He went to check on Dusty and Xii, she thought to herself, didn't give it much importance, and fell fast asleep on the mattress.

Chloe from Heksvile, Yuri of the Ark. Those are their names, their identities. Neither of them knew who they were when they arrived at Heksville. Both of them fell like an apple fell from its tree.
Yuri was the first to arrive, along with Xii, his crow and loyal friend; he was the terror of the floating city for a time. His sole objective was to find the Ark of the lost orphans —hence his name—. At first, he and Chloe hated each other; they had many fights… but as they say, there's a fine line between love and hate. Back then, Heksvile was dirty, disorganized, chaotic, with delicious food and people to meet, and it was waiting for its future heroine.
For Yuri, being a shifter is a power granted by his faithful friend Xii, his crow with a stellar body, to be used to fulfill his promises.
For Chloe, being a shifter means the freedom to explore and the strength of her spirit. Dusty, her cat with a cosmic body, is her faithful companion.
Chloe, like Yuri, fell like an apple to Heksvile. She woke up not knowing who she was or even her name, but Dusty was by her side. At first, everything was strange and new; she only knew she had to trust her friend and the abilities he granted her.
After so many disagreements, Yuri and she managed to form an alliance to face a common enemy: the Nevi. Grotesque creatures with black bodies and bulging red eyes.

After a long day, there was nothing better than flying home at maximum speed. Her translucent body radiated a light the same color as her hair —burgundy—. While she was pulled towards the direction of her home an idea crossed her mind.
“Let's stop at the industrial zone!” she instructed the man.
They stopped at the top of the tallest building, the one with a large bell. The sky is a violet color, accompanied by distant stars. She sat on the edge, and Raven followed her example. Neither said a word, as there was no need; they are one soul that was split by fate and forced to be two different people
From that height, they could see the gaps between the zones that make up Heksvile. The void beneath the zones is overwhelming. Floating cars travel in the distance. Technology and development have taken mankind far.
“What are you thinking about Gravity Queen?” he teased her.
Gravity Queen was the nickname she received from Heksvile; it fills her with tenderness and makes her laugh sometimes. When she arrived, she was insecure about using the abilities Dusty gave her; she was clumsy, disastrous, and had a hard time adapting —unlike Yuri. When she met him, he had already mastered his powers— but she never gave up. She fights for the people of Heksvile, for the beautiful life that exists on this planet and this dimension.
“Are you still thinking about Eto?”
Chloe shook her head. “Then what's going on?” he asked. Nothing in particular was in her mind; she just wanted to enjoy a quiet moment after patrol, she wished to play a little, to have fun.
She activated her powers, leaned back, ran, and jumped off the edge. She let herself fall letting the air embrace her body, using levitation to avoid crashing into the ground. She opened her eyes and noticed her boyfriend approaching her, his semi-transparent body radiating a red light as he levitated above her. They looked at each other for a few seconds. Chloe smiled and flew away from him.
Yuri understood the message. He flew towards her to catch her, but Chloe was elusive; now she is standing on the wall of a building. He followed her, and she slipped away from him again.
A game of catch-the-shifter. A smile appeared on his face. Now on the building's wall, he ran towards her.
The game lasted until the moon reached its highest point. Then they returned to their home to sleep.
