Chapter 1: chapter 1

Chapter Text

Two Time stepped onto the battlefield, firebrand in hand. The warm sun shone over their face as they looked up to their opponent. Telamon, the ultimate sparring master. They were starting to rethink their decision…NO!This phoenix had soared so far and they weren't going to give up now. So they stood their ground and glared at Telamon. Right in the eyes with a cocky smile spreading up their face. They were fueled by pure perseverance and determination. NOTHING was going to make them give up now.
“Oh! Confident are we?” Telamon whispered to himself. No one had ever been this excited to challenge him in a sword fight. Two Time took a deep breath and leaped as far as they could into the warm sky. “Oh mighty fire ring, please give me a sign my courage isn't for nothing…” they prayed silently. They raised the firebrand above their head and lunged toward Telamon. Their eyes burning with passion as Telamon’s illumina glistened in the sun. Two Time was soaring down like a missile, Their speed picking up every moment, until…they lost their aim and completely missed their target. Their eyes locked onto one another when it dawned on Telamon he had missed his chance to pwn Two Time. But in that moment, something sparked in both of them. Not disappointment that both their slashes had missed, not anger but rather…curiosity. That spark in both of their eyes…
Two Time was falling through the air faster than they’d expected. Telamon noticed the fear in their eyes and took action. He dashed down, aligning with two time’s fall rate, then let himself fall faster. Two Time closed their eyes. “I'm going to die. There's no objections about it. Even the fire ring can't save me this time.” they thought to themselves. When suddenly, after a harsh impact across their back, they…stopped midair. Two Time opened their eyes. Then looked up to see Telamon’s relieved face staring back at them. Then it occurred to them what had just happened. “Oh my fire ring…” They whispered under their breath. How had a sparring fight came to…this? Where they even fighting anymore? “hey. Are you OK?” Telamon asked. “...Yeah.” They replied. This feeling Two Time had for Telamon wasn't just felt by them alone. Telamon had also noticed his face reddening at the sight of Two Time, right as they stepped onto the grounds. Was this fate? A curse? Neither of them knew. Telamon drifted back to the ground and lowered Two Time. “Well…I think we should get going. It was…a pleasure fighting with you, Phoenix.” Telamon said with the slightest amount of tenderness in his voice. But Two Time was too stunned to speak. They desperately wanted to reply to Telamon, how much they wanted him, but none of the words could come out. Telamon simply looked back at Two Time before winking Softly, As he slowly began to disappear into the evening mist. “Wait..!” Two Time called out. “Maybe we could meet up tomorrow? If that's ok with you of course…” Telamon smiled. Not his usual sleek smile, a warm, tender, loving smile. The kind you see in romantic movies before the two characters kiss. “11:00 at the altar. Please don't delay, my dear.” He answered before his silhouette finally faded within the mist. That night Two Time set every single alarm they could. They're sleeping schedule was already out of place, and now they had to meet someone they loved in the morning?! They usually woke up at 15:00 so HOW were they supposed to be on time? Nevertheless Two Time ducked under the covers of their warm bed, their mind feeling like a ticking time bomb. The next morning Two Time hastily checked the clock. 7:00. They thought about going back to sleep. Surely 5 more minutes wouldn't hurt… But 5 minutes would turn into 5 hours, and this time? Two Time wasn't going to let their drowsiness get the better of them. Hesitantly they got out of bed, and started to get dressed. On the way to the altar, Two Time couldn't help but replay their encounter with Telamon. Was it just an encounter anymore? They couldn't be sure. When they finally arrived at the altar, the clock read 10:30. But now that they knew Telamon wouldn't be here for a while, they sat under the shade of a nearby tree, and let their drowsiness overcome them, letting them rest for a while. 20 minutes passed, and Telamon had arrived. He thought Two Time would be quite late, knowing their horrible sleep schedule. He looked around until he found them, their body positioned against the apple tree, next to the stone fountain covered in moss and vines. Telamon couldn't help but feel flustered. “They went through all the struggle of waking up when their body felt too heavy to move, just to see me? Perhaps I misunderstood just how much their adoration could reach.” Telmon sat down next to Two Time, resting their head on his shoulders. It felt like Time had stopped moving. But Telamon didn't mind, for the silence was peaceful. If only happy moments like this could last forever...
