not everything was a spectacle when it came to solev’s control over fortsy. rather, there were times where it was almost intimate.
alone together in solev’s office, fortsy’s back was to solev as solev fastened a collar around fortsy’s neck. solev was slow with the action and deliberately so, taking painstakingly long to place the claim on fortsy’s neck; not like a lover would, yet it was still a similar level of intimacy being so close like this, being so quiet. the only noise in the room was solev's steady breathing, and fortsy's heartbeat in his own eardrums.
when the collar clicked securely in-place, solev dragged his fingers around both sides of fortsy’s neck, tracing over the collar’s material before his fingers met at the center of fortsy’s throat. the action made fortsy resist shivering under solev’s touch. it could’ve almost been seen as a sweet gesture if fortsy didn’t know what the collar was for, what it symbolized. that soft action, maybe the softest solev has ever treated him, had intentions full of malice behind it, and fortsy was sure of that. but for now, solev was slipping his fingers in the limited space between the collar and fortsy’s neck.
solev’s cool fingers contrasted with fortsy’s hot skin, simmering with concealed nerves he wouldn’t dare show. experimentally, solev used the fingers he had in-between fortsy’s collar and neck and tugged fortsy toward him. he used enough force in the pull that fortsy stumbled back a little bit, knocking into solev briefly. solev barked out a laugh, his fingers tightening around the collar and his knuckles digging into fortsy’s skin before letting go.
fortsy stood up straight, touching the foreign item around his neck. it was a sturdy and thick material. after they exchanged their customary goodbyes, fortsy heard solev warn, “better not remove that.” a twisted smile overtook solev’s features. “be a good dog and go back to the desert.” fortsy swallowed at that, feeling the collar more than ever with that small action; a persistent reminder of who he belonged to. "yes sir."
