Work Text:
I have to help Bonnie. Vaughn stabbed her, and now we’re fighting. I’m strong, but he’s so much stronger. I can’t block every strike, and the ones that land hurt—badly.
Bonnie’s on the ground, bleeding out… all I want is to get to her, check the wound, save her.
“You can’t give the cure to Silas.”
He’s already given him his blood. God, I hope that’s not enough. I need to take Vaughn down and grab the cure before Silas wakes.
“It’s meant for him!”
With a swift move, Vaughn slams me to the floor, pain ripping through my back. I can’t move.
“Who did you think you’d give it to? Your friends? Your sister?” He picks up the knife he used on Bonnie. “Sorry, kid. It’s not for them.”
He leans over me, and I already know what’s coming.
“Nothing personal.”
Suddenly, someone yanks him off me. Elena! She flashes her fangs, ready to attack, but I stop her immediately.
“The Hunter’s curse!” I gasp, and she freezes, leaving Vaughn sprawled on the ground.
She helps me up.
“You okay?”
“I’m fine, but Bonnie’s been stabbed. You need to give her your blood.”
Elena shakes her head, eyes on the cure just steps away. She says we need to focus on that instead. How can she not be worried about Bonnie?
“I’m done being nice.”
She grabs me, slashes open my wrist, and presses it against Silas’s mouth.
“Katherine.”
How the hell is she here? How did she know, how did she beat us?
She sinks her teeth into my neck, forcing the blood to flow into Silas. She says something I can’t make out; the pain is sharp, my head spinning too fast to think.
Then Silas moves, his hand clamping onto my face. Katherine snatches the cure and runs.
I try to fight him off, but I can’t. Bonnie… how is Bonnie?
I’m scared. Elena…
It takes just a second. One small movement.
And then… nothing.
