Chapter 1: My Daughter is a Cheating Bitch

Chapter Text

~Athena's Perspective:

"...hmm I haven't read H. G. Well's The Time Machine in a long time. Albert Kanter was a genius when he started the Great Illustrated Classics series. He made it easy for children to read and get into reading books and classics." I grabbed the Great Illustrated Classics version of H.G. Well's The Time Machine. I walked to the Study and take a seat and start reading.

(Author's note: If you have Dyslexia, the Great Illustrated Classics series is perfect for you. I should know as I do have a more severe form of Dyslexia and the Great Illustrated Classics books are really easy to read)

~A few hours later...

The Time Traveler started down the well. He lit a torch and star... a knocking startled me out of reading. I put my bookmark in and walked to the door.

I opened the door and I saw Perseus Jackson holding in his arms a three headed Rottweiler. He spoke up with, "And this is Cerberus. I'm pretty sure that was Heracles' last Labor." I look at him with indifference as I say, "Perseus, you have completed your challenge. I now give you my permission to marry my daughter Annabeth Chase."

His eyes sparkled with excitement. He bowed still holding Cerberus. "Thank you my lady." He started for the elevator down to Manhattan. Not only had he earned my permission. He's also earned a little bit of my respect. Also, I don't know why he holds such distain for Heracles. That's something I might look into in the future.

~Three Hours(and several books) Later...

I was once again, interrupted by someone knocking on my door. Which was strange because I hadn't expected anyone. Actually, it's probably Percy and Annabeth sharing the news. So I put a bookmark back into my current book and walk to my door.

When I got there, however, it was only Percy, and his eyes told a story that his face was not displaying. His face looked indifferent. But his eyes looked soulless. As if he was dead. What in the pit happening to him? I've seen how he processes losing people before, but I've never seen him borderline soulless. I spoke softly and cautiously, "What happened?"

He reach forward, grabbed my hand and placed a small box in it. I could feel that the box had a felt coding. I could also feel a distinct ridge, indicating that there was a hinge. Come on even Ares could put together that this was a box for an engagement ring. Heck Dionysus could've done it drunk. Wait a... no.

He spoke, "Your daughter doesn't want it. So I figured you would be able to actually, appreciate it. After all, I don't need that reminder with me at all times."

I open the box to see a platinum ring, with a Atlantean steel triton, and a celestial bronze owl. The ring was beautifully made, and clearly meant for the love of his life. I couldn't believe that my daughter would reject him.

"Percy.... Why don't you come inside, just for a bit?" He nodded slowly before finally following me into my library.

~Three Months later-
~Olympus Throne Room-
~Third Person:

Poseidon was deafly quiet. Ever since Percy disappeared, he's been silent. No one has been able to find him. Artemis and her hunters had basically concluded that, either he was jumping around the United States or dead. Hades had confirmed that Percy was alive because his soul definitely wasn't in the underworld.

The only clues that Percy was alive, were the literal letters being delivered by Iris. It was the only reason why Poseidon wasn't in a worse condition. Was him getting letters from Percy. Just telling him that he was all right and that he's just trying to figure things out.

Nico, Thalia and Sally/Paul Blofisk were similarly comforted by the letters being delivered by Lady Iris from Percy.

Athena had also been unusually quiet during the past three months. Everyone just thought that she was disappointed in her daughter and embarrassed that she would push away one of the greatest heroes of this generation. The only one who picked up on anything more was Aphrodite, who could sense that something else was going on. She couldn't quite tell what, but she knew that Athena wasn't speaking, because she knew that in the presence of the god of truth, and the god of lies, they would know that she was lying.

Although one, very interesting, anomaly that it appeared since Jackson disappeared. A man and a dark cloak was delivering have blood children to Camp Half-Blood, Camp Jupiter, and Artemis' Hunt. The only thing that stayed consistent for the description of the man was his dark cloak and bronze sword. But any features were always either non-observed, or inconsistent.
