Work Text:
Xander was shocked, to say the least. He had gone downstairs to get a a snack and had found his younger sister Riley crying while pouring cereal in a bowl. He approached her cautiously as not to startle her. “Hey, Ril-.” I start, but I’m quickly cut off as she turns around and hugs me. She starts crying harder than before and is hugging me with a death grip. Like she is afraid I’m going to disappear. I decide to pick her up and take her to her room. It would be easier to comfort her in her room instead of mine seeing as I don’t have a bed
The walk to her room is short and I quickly sit down on her bed with her still in my arms. “Okay, first question why are you crying?” I ask calmly. “Nightmare” was her quiet reply. Which doesn’t make sense since she is 16 and most people her age don’t cry like this after a nightmare. “Ri, Why you crying like this over a nightmare?” I ask not judging her in the slightest. She didn’t answer so I turned to Google. I searched up why is my sister acting like a child? The first thing I got was something called Age regression, which seems like it could be a good answer. So I asked “ Ri, how old are you?” Hoping I was right. She held up 3 fingers “Ok, so you are 3 right now?” She nods. “Alright let’s get you to bed.” I lay her down and get in on the other side and pull her to my chest. As I’m falling asleep I hear a good night night, Xan.
