Chapter Text
Blood was pouring from Leonard’s chest.
It had all happened so suddenly. One minute, he was standing tall on the battlefield, only a few cuts and scratches ailing him. The next, he collapsed as pain overwhelmed him, a glowing blade removing itself from his chest and flying back to its owner.
Under his hazy vision, Leonard saw a man in a yellow and black cloak running towards him, but he couldn’t keep his eyes open any longer. The man knelt on the muddy ground, cradling his body, pleading to anybody who was listening.
But there was nobody to hear the man’s cries besides Leonard himself, until even that became too much for his body to endure.
One by one, Leonard’s senses dwindled, everything fading into darkness, until…
He woke up.
Leonard lurched up in bed, his heart pounding. His chest ached, as if he really had been stabbed. After a few minutes, when his breathing had steadied, Leonard stood, carefully removing the clothes he had worn to sleep.
The mirror reflected his well-defined body, littered with a few small scars, but his chest was spotless. There was no blade sticking out of his chest, no blood dripping down his legs, no scar.
“Fuck…” He quietly muttered, before busying himself with his extensive morning routine.
Walking throughout the streets of Tingen, many men and women looked in his direction, throwing flirtatious comments and winks his way. Normally, Leonard would play along, indulging in the attention brought to him by being the city’s most renowned knight.
But today, all he felt was irritation at these acts. That dream was still on his mind, never before had he had a nightmare like that.
For several years now, Leonard had dreamed of that man in the yellow and black cloak. They did everything together, chatting, laughing, going on adventures, and facing life and death together. Upon awakening, he could never remember the man’s name, or even a clear image of his face.
But even in the darkest of those dreams, he had never experienced such a tragedy, never experienced something so real.
Leonard snapped back to reality as a group of children rushed by him, one bumping into his leg. He couldn’t afford to be distracted today, not when the princess was going to be passing through the town today. All the knights had been gathered for this occasion, to make sure the princess stayed safe on her journey back to the capital city, Backlund.
Leonard took his post, assisting the other knights in setting up barricades and clearing the street of people. Lots of citizens had gathered to perhaps catch a glimpse of the princess, who was said to be the most beautiful person in the whole of Loen.
As if she would ever bother lifting the curtains, just to look at the common folk… Leonard thought idly. In fact, he had once seen a portrait of Princess Audrey. However Leonard had always found himself more interested in men, not even a beauty such as her could peak his interest.
The grand horse-drawn carriage turned the corner, its gold accents glimmering in the sunlight. Sure enough, the green curtains were drawn shut. The crowd’s whispers quickly turned from excited to disappointed, their interest dwindling. It was for the best, the princess would be much safer with less attention.
Just then, a man broke through the crowd, pushing people aside. He leapt over the barricade, drawing a short sword and throwing himself at the carriage. Immediately, he was tackled to the ground by Leonard and another knight. Gasps and screams erupted from the crowd, the carriage coming to a stop with the startled coachman.
“Don’t stop the carriage, keep going!” The other knight shouted.
“Strange…” Leonard muttered, his attention fixed on the man now in handcuffs. He was haggard and weak, heaving on the ground after such exertion. He was covered in soot and dirt, yet his sword seemed to be brand new, its silver blade glistening under the sun.
A click was heard from behind Leonard. The carriage window had been unlocked, and the glass slowly swung open. A gorgeous woman appeared from behind the curtain, with long, golden hair and jewel-like green eyes. She seemed to dazzle everyone in the vicinity, so much so that nobody noticed the arrow flying straight towards her.
Everyone but Leonard.
“Is everything alright—”
“Watch out!” Leonard threw himself in front of the princess, enduring the searing pain of the arrow piercing his shoulder.
Leonard stumbled forward, clutching his shoulder as the crowd became unbearably loud. The princess was pulled back into the carriage despite her protests, and another knight came to support Leonard. He had been injured much worse in the past, yet… he felt so tired, this time. He could feel the strength slipping from his body, and as he pulled the arrow out of his shoulder, he noticed it was coated in a strange, translucent substance…
Poison… He briefly thought, before losing consciousness.
Chapter Text
Tears rolled down the man’s cheeks, slightly obscured under his yellow and black hood. Standing in front of a gravestone, he wept alone under the grey sky.
Leonard stood behind him, his heart aching for the man. He reached out, intending to comfort him, but his hand went right through the trembling man’s shoulder. He tried calling out to him, embracing him, trying in any way possible to give the man some of his warmth.
But alas, his efforts failed. That man could not sense his presence, perhaps nobody could.
So Leonard simply watched the man collapse to the ground, as the sky began to cry with him, soaking his already shivering body. He wanted so badly to help, to do anything , but he was useless. He always was.
Perhaps, if he could find out who the man was crying for, he could do something…
So Leonard stepped forward, his footsteps silent in the endless rain, approaching the grave covered in flowers.
Leonard Mitchell
The bravest knight,
The most loving fiancé,
The brightest star.
Ah, Leonard smiled weakly, It all makes sense now.
He did not despair over his own death, strangely enough, but rather for the man who wept for him. He felt an overwhelming anguish for the man, who despite the chilling rain, remained by his gravestone into the night. He passed out from exhaustion at the grave’s side, as Leonard held him in his ghostly arms, a futile effort.
Just as the sun began to appear in the horizon once again, the man’s eyelashes fluttered under his cloak. Just as he was about to open his eyes…
Leonard awoke from his dream.
A dull pain echoed from his shoulder, which was now wrapped tightly in bandages. Looking around, he seemed to be in some sort of infirmary, alone. There was a small rope next to his bed, which if pulled, would call a nurse into the room, but he did not move.
Leonard simply stared at the ceiling, trying to remember every detail from his dream. Tears, rain, gravestone, his gravestone, ghost, couldn’t do anything to help. But he couldn’t remember the facial features veiled under that cloak, no matter how hard he tried.
“You’re awake.”
Leonard flinched, he hadn’t noticed the nurse entering the room.
“How do you feel?” She asked monotonely, motioning for him to sit up.
He sat up and watched as the nurse undid the bandages on his shoulder. She then applied a cold, blue liquid to the wound, a common healing potion.
“How long was I out for?” He asked as the woman wrapped fresh bandages around the wound.
“A little less than a day.”
“Did they catch the other assassin?”
“Yes.”
“What about the Princess, is she safe?”
“Yes.” She finished retying the bandages, “...Actually, she requested to speak with you when you woke up.”
Leonard froze. Nothing good could come from this…
…But he had no right to refuse. Three hours later, dressed in his knight uniform, he knelt before Princess Audrey.
“I am glad to see you unharmed, your Highness.”
“Please, no need to be so formal, please stand.” Her voice had a gentle tone uncommon amongst nobles and royals. Her warm, innocent smile seemed to light up the room. Perhaps she really was different from the other royals…
“I would like to sincerely thank you for protecting me yesterday. The medic said I would have died if that poison struck my face.” She approached the stiff Leonard, “To show my thanks, you shall be rewarded with a great wealth, and any favor you would like to ask shall be fulfilled to the best of my ability.”
“T-thank you for this privilege, your Highness…”
“Additionally, there is one request I have for you.” Request, she said. Not a demand, a favor. “If you are inclined to do so, would you become my personal guard?”
Leonard froze. Such a job was…
“Only if you’re willing, of course!”
“I…”
Only if you’re willing.
Three weeks later, Princess Audrey and her entourage arrived in the capital city Backlund, with Leonard in tow.
Chapter Text
In many ways, Backlund was similar to the familiar town of Tingen, yet also completely different. The architecture was incredibly similar, with pointed arches and tall pillars, but the stones and bricks looked like they had just been built, not at all like the old, historic feel of Leonard’s hometown. Looking around, he saw many people hanging festive, colorful banners and decorating their windowsills and doors with flowers.
The journey to Backlund had been no easy feat. Twice they were attacked by bandits, but luckily there were no more close calls like the arrow in Tingen. It was a surprisingly easy decision for him to leave Tingen. He loved the town, sure, but deep down, Leonard had always felt there was something missing, a void that nothing in that small town could fill. Perhaps it was related to his dreams, which had gone back to normal meetings and adventures with the cloaked man after leaving Tingen. He hoped that something, or someone, in Backlund, would be able to mend the empty feeling in his heart.
“Home sweet home!” Princess Audrey exclaimed as they entered the city.
“Is there some sort of celebration going on?” Three weeks ago, Leonard would have never dared to speak so casually to the princess. But over the long days of travelling, he had gotten to know her quite well. She wasn’t at all like the arrogant aristocrat he had first imagined, simply a curious and energetic girl. He would even go so far to say that they were now friends.
“Well yeah, the Day of Rest is right around the corner. Everyone is preparing!”
“Day of Rest?”
The princess looked at him with confusion for a moment, before seemingly having some sort of epiphany. “Oh, I completely forgot! It’s a local holiday, only really celebrated by Backlund and a few nearby areas.”
“I see,” Leonard smiled, “Mind telling a foreigner like me what is celebrated on this, ‘Day of Rest?’”
“Of course!” Princess Audrey cleared her throat, “A long, long time ago, an evil sorceress by the name of ‘The Celestial Worthy’ began to attack Backlund. Their overwhelming control over magic overpowered our forces, and eventually, the whole country was at risk.
“That was until the Prince of Yellow and Black, the Prince Who Wields Good Luck, Klein Moretti, took charge. He, a master of magic as well, was evenly matched with the sorceress. Their on-and-off battles went on for months, until finally, the prince cast a spell, sealing the Celestial Worthy away.
“However, just before the spell was complete, the sorceress struck back. They cast a spell on the prince, making him fall into an eternal sleep. The only way to break the spell was with a true love’s kiss, but just a week earlier, the Celestial Worthy had taken the life of Prince Klein’s fiancé. So the prince fell into slumber, and has not awakened to this day.
“The Day of Rest is the anniversary of when Prince Klein began to, well, rest. Back in the day, the king and queen would invite noblefolk and royals from other lands to try their luck at waking the prince on this day, but…” She paused. “Ever since my mother and father took charge, they no longer engage in this tradition. A decision which has no doubt been controversial… but personally, I think it’s for the best. It transformed the holiday from one of mourning to romantic celebrations between couples!”
“Ah, so it’s like Valentine’s Day?” Leonard smiled on the surface, but his mind was fixed on one detail: The Prince of Yellow and Black.
“Exactly!” She leaned over to the window, taking a peak outside the curtains.
“Your Highness, please be careful—”
“Look, Leonard!! It’s the palace!” The girl exclaimed, pulling him over to look at it with her.
The royal palace stood tall in the distance, its drab grey exterior and pointed towers painting an imposing figure, as if it was looming over the entire city. Yet there was a strange, familiar beauty in its formidable glow. After a short meeting with the king and queen, which Leonard was not allowed to attend, Princess Audrey began to give him a tour of the grand castle. It was strange, he seemed to instinctively know his way around the winding, endless hallways.
“Oh, look here!” Audrey paused during the tour, pointing towards a painting hung on the wall.
It was a portrait of a man with black hair, brown eyes, and features that others might call average-looking. But to Leonard, that face was extraordinarily beautiful. The man’s slight smile and gentle eyes made his heart flutter, the yellow and black cloak draped over his head making Leonard’s lips tremble.
“This is the prince from the story I told you about earlier, Prince Klein Moretti.”
But Leonard needed no explanation. He would recognize this man anywhere, under any circumstances. Klein Moretti, the man who once fell asleep next to his gravestone in sorrow, now sleeps somewhere within these very walls.

“Is everything alright?” The Princess’ voice woke Leonard from his shock.
“Yes, I just…” He paused. “You said that nobody is allowed… to try and wake him anymore, right?”
Princess Audrey giggled, “What, want to try it for yourself?”
“No! I-i, I just—” Leonard tried to explain, flustered. “I just think it’s such a shame, such a heroic man shouldn’t be doomed to a life of sleeping…”
“I think it’s what he would have wanted.” Audrey replied quietly, gazing at the portrait. “According to historians, the prince was inconsolable after his lover’s death. Some, well, really just my parents, believe that allowing others to kiss him every year is just… disrespectful. That he should be allowed to rest and relax, after spending his whole life fighting and losing his loved ones.”
“Perhaps, but…” You’re just abandoning him.
He didn’t say that last part aloud, allowing Princess Audrey to continue the tour. But his mind was still fixed on the prince, his feet simply following along with the girl in front of him, like he had walked these halls all his life.
That night, Leonard dreamt once more. Once again, he was in that ghost-like state, unable to interact with anything around him.
A man with gray eyes stood in front of a mahogany door, his brows furrowed. Standing before him was the man wearing a yellow and black cloak, Klein Moretti . He wore a calm expression, but no amount of false tranquility could hide the tiredness in his eyes.
“Sir Dunn, please move out of the way.” Prince Klein smiled.
“It’s too dangerous.” The gray-eyed man, Sir Dunn, replied.
“Perhaps, but it's the only way.”
“You’ll get yourself killed.”
“There are always some things that are more important than others.” Klein looked up at the other man, performing one last smile, before binding Sir Dunn with a magic-imbued rope.
“Klein, I’m serious.” Despite his protests, he did not struggle as the magical rope moved him away from the door.
“I know.” Klein said, exiting the room. “But if losing one life is enough to save thousands, I’ll gladly offer up my worthless existence.”
Klein shut the door behind him. He slowly walked through the halls of the castle, all alone with only a ghost at his side. Eventually, he entered the throne room.
What had once been a magnificent display of power and wealth had been destroyed by the Celestial Worthy. The king and queen had long since fled, knights and mages lay scattered across the floor, dead, or too injured to continue fighting. And slouched upon the throne was the Celestial Worthy themself, lazily playing with a small sphere of magic.
“How kind of you to finally show—” They were cut off by a bullet of magic flying towards their skull, easily cancelled out by the sphere in their hand. “Not in the mood to chat, I see.”
“You will die here.” Klein said shortly, before launching himself towards the throne, engaging in a fierce battle with his enemy.
Leonard watched this scene, barely able to keep up with the slew of spells being thrown around the room, none of them hitting their mark. The two seemed to move at the speed of light, only letting him catch an occasional glimpse of their figures.
After what felt like an eternity, the two retreated to opposite ends of the room, stalling for a brief moment. Klein was sweating, his breathing heavy, meanwhile the Celestial Worthy looked like they could go for another several hours, only a single wound on his cheek.
“Tired already, little prince?” They teased with an unsettling smirk. “It’s no fun if you die so easily.”
Klein didn’t reply, still trying to steady his breathing. He grit his teeth, before holding out his palm, stained with his enemy’s blood. The air swirled around him, almost glowing under the intense force of his magic.
“Oh? A new spell? Go ahead, try it out, I’m curious—” The Celestial Worthy tried to move, but found their body to be glued in place. Slowly, several dark purple circles began to form around their body, intricate symbols engraved in the rings. They furrowed their brows, such a spell was…
“You fool! You aren’t seriously about to use a black magic spell on me, are you?!” The sorceress laughed. “Could it be that you don’t know about the consequences of such a spell?”
“I… I know.” Klein spoke through shaky breaths, all his concentration focused on casting the spell. “In exchange for imprisoning you in the underworld, I will fall into an eternal sleep, only allowed to awaken at the world’s end.”
The Celestial Worthy laughed harder after hearing that, as if their impending torturous fate was just a prank. The rings of runes had almost finished forming, and they could feel a dark presence pulling them down, down deeper.
“Well then, Prince Klein Moretti,” Their image began to warp, fading into an inhuman realm. “I look forward to seeing you in hell.”
And just like that, it was over. The spell was a success, Klein could almost hear their fists knocking on the doors of hell. Years and years of endless fighting, studying to become stronger, and sacrifice, all for this moment.
Klein collapsed to the ground.
“Klein!!!” Sir Dunn rushed into the room, his binds having loosened when Klein cast the dark spell. He crouched beside Klein, cradling his head.
“It’s over.” Klein said weakly, with a faint smile.
“Just be quiet, I know how to save you.”
“Don’t, you’ll only hurt yourself…”
Sir Dunn chuckled, pouring his strength and magic into his palm. “That’s what I said to you earlier, is it not?” He pressed his palm against Klein’s chest, just above his heart. “I added a condition onto that spell, you can awaken with a true love’s kiss, I’ll go find Leonard as soon as possible.”
“Dunn…” Pain began to show in Klein’s eyes. “Perhaps you didn’t hear while out on that expedition… Leonard, he…”
Silence.
“No… him too?” Dunn held a hand to his face, trying to hide his trembling. “I’m sorry, I should have come back sooner, I could’ve saved him, could’ve helped you find a better option than this…”
“Dunn.” Klein cut him off. “Thank you, for mentoring me all these years. It’s nobody’s fault but my own. At the very least… I’ll get to see him, in my endless dreams.”
The prince smiled brightly,
“We saved Loen.”
His eyes slowly closed, his lips still upturned in a smile.
“No… you saved Loen… none of the rest of us had anything to do with it.” Teardrops began to fall from Dunn’s gray eyes.
Leonard awoke suddenly, sitting up in his new, luxurious bed with a sense of urgency. Tears he could not explain poured from his eyes, falling onto the silk bedding below him. He tried and tried to stop his sobs, but the sense of sorrow he had felt in the dream followed him into reality.
He had to wake Klein up, at least try.
Chapter Text
Leonard couldn’t simply approach the king and queen and ask for their permission to try and wake the prince, they would never allow it. The princess had told him a story of a noblewoman who practically begged to try, only to leave with her noble title stripped away. And Audrey had said that was them being lenient . For a commoner like himself, they might directly give him the death penalty.
But there were always ways around the rules, and the tower in which the sleeping prince occupied didn’t have much security. Hailed as a hero in Backlund, it was unthinkable that someone would try and desecrate his corpse-like body.
Having risen before the sun due to his dream, Leonard, armed with a few invisibility and stealth charms, snuck through the palace with ease, eventually coming to the tower where Klein slept. Still invisible, Leonard slipped past the guards, running up the long, winding stairs as fast as he could. The prince had been sleeping for too long, he couldn’t waste a single second.
Finally, he reached the top of the tower. He didn’t even stop to catch his breath for a moment, picking the mahogany door’s lock, and pushing it open.
Empty.
Leonard froze, the room was… empty. A grand canopy bed stood in the middle, faintly illuminated by the rising sun, but no person laid under its blankets. Leonard simply stared at the empty bed, his heart beating ever faster.
What have they done with Klein?
There was no time to think about it, he had to be at the Princess’ side by the time the sun fully rose. The Day of Rest was tomorrow, and Audrey had a packed schedule today to prepare for the occasion.
Throughout the day, part of his attention remained on guard in case of any surprise assassination attempts, while the majority of his mind was focused on Klein. He feared for the worst, what if an assassin had killed him, or he had been abducted for experiments?!
No, stop being so paranoid, Leonard, he tried to calm himself, but to no avail.
“Is everything alright? You seem quite on edge today…” Princess Audrey inquired during a brief break at midday. He had accompanied her to the palace's lush gardens, relaxing in a white, wooden gazebo amongst the flowers in full bloom.
“Sorry for worrying you, your Highness, I just… didn’t get much sleep last night.” Leonard averted his gaze, looking out into the endless blooms and greenery. “This garden is lovely.”
“Isn’t it? It's so quiet and relaxing… almost like you’ve entered another world.”
“Yes…” Not far away from their shaded gazebo was a tall, grand magnolia tree. Beneath it was a sea of golden seville chrysanthemums, swaying in the wind. A gray slab stood alone in the field, but he couldn’t tell what it was exactly. “What’s over there?”
Audrey looked over, “That… is the grave of Prince Klein’s fiancé.” She walked down the white steps, her heels clacking across the tiled walkway. Leonard followed her, approaching the magnificent tree.
Sure enough, it was identical to the gravestone from his dream. Although the text had all but faded by now on the cracked stone, he would never mistake that sight.
“These flowers symbolize happiness,” She clasped her hands together, “I, like many others, pray for this man to find happiness, in his next life.”
“I hope so too…” Leonard squinted at the soil beneath the headstone, it seemed… disturbed. All the other chrysanthemums were in full bloom, but these had barely begun to bud.
They couldn’t have, right? Leonard thought as he followed the princess out of the gardens, to continue their busy day.
Chapter Text
The Day of Rest had finally arrived. Princess Audrey was attending a ceremony, only high ranking nobles and royalty allowed to attend. Not that Leonard minded, it was a perfect opportunity for him.
He slipped outside, dashing through the rain and picking the lock of the gardener’s hut. He only took one thing: a shovel. After waiting for the patrolling guards to pass by, Leonard made his way through the gardens, approaching his own tomb.
Raindrops slid down his face, his hair drenched as he stood over the grave. Slowly, he raised the shovel, digging into the loose dirt. The soft dirt buried the surrounding flowers, but Leonard didn’t care. No happiness would come to either of them, trapped within a narrow coffin.
Eventually, his shovel clanked against something solid under the dirt. Unearthed was his coffin, worn under the endless years of waiting. The lid had been freshly resealed, taking Leonard a little longer than expected to open.
His heart began to race, his breathing becoming unsteady. If he unearthed this coffin only to find a pile of ashes, what would he do? He would have no other lead, and would likely have to spend the rest of his life fleeing for his crimes of desecrating such a sacred grave.
I might never see him again…
With trembling hands, Leonard opened the coffin.
His worst fears did not come to pass, as Klein Moretti now inhabited this tomb.
Memories came flooding back at the sight. Leonard was just starting out as a rookie knight, gaining recognition from the prince after defending him in battle. He had fallen in love almost at first sight, bewitched by the man’s smile, his laughter, his everything. Leonard felt that all would be okay as long as he was with Klein, no matter what gossip and insults were whispered about when the prince chose a commoner as his personal bodyguard.
Then, one night, in the gardens, under the magnolia tree, Klein leaned over and kissed him. He remembered cradling Klein’s face as they parted, staring with nothing but adoration for one another, before bursting into laughter simultaneously.
Klein had never hid their relationship from others, no matter how much Leonard had insisted. The prince countered, saying he didn’t want to be forced into some sort of political marriage, and that everything would turn out okay in the end.
Leonard chose to believe him.
And Klein had been right. A long fight it was, but eventually the king and queen of the era accepted their love, at least on the surface. The prince’s siblings had joined in to help their beloved brother gain his happiness. Of course, the judgement and snide comments would never go away, but the two were lost in their own world, nothing could touch them.
Years passed, the two training together under the tutelage of Sir Dunn. The prince’s magical talents flourished, while Leonard didn’t seem to have a knack for it at all. But he was alright with that, he had always preferred the sword anyway. As he watched the room fill with a spell’s gray fog, he began to wonder if Klein really needed a bodyguard at all.
But he pushed those thoughts down, he was happy just to be at Klein’s side. And so, on a hot summer day, Leonard kneeled down under their magnolia tree, presenting a glamorous ring to his beloved. As he slipped the ring onto Klein’s finger and kissed him, he had never before felt so happy.
These good times soon turned to sorrow as the Celestial Worthy began to rampage through Loen. Leonard fell at their hands, but his soul did not dissipate. He refused to leave the mortal realm until he knew Klein was safe. But his death hit Klein harder than he thought, eventually watching as his beloved fell into slumber. He cried ghostly tears, unable to do anything but watch.
Still, he didn’t leave the prince’s side. His heart ached at the fact that Klein, his dearest Klein, might awaken for someone else, but he refused to be anywhere else.
He watched as Sir Dunn, their beloved mentor, began to decline. Tampering with a power black magic spell was no small feat. Although the side effects weren’t as immediate as the prince’s had been, they began to show. Sir Dunn began to forget things, small, at first, but growing with time. His wife, Madame Daly, tried to care for him the best she could, but she could not stop him from rushing to his death on the battlefield, forgetting he was no longer a junior soldier, forgetting even the woman he so dearly loved.
He watched for hundreds of years as strangers kissed his lover, hoping for the glory of awakening the legendary prince. It was excruciating, he wanted to do something, anything, to help, but his ghostly body could not even weigh down the bed upon which Klein slumbered.
Eventually, Leonard’s spirit was forced to reincarnate. He forgot everything about his past life, only gaining occasional glimpses through dreams, and the constant feeling that something was missing.
He did not notice as tears began to fall from his eyes, dripping down with the rain onto Klein’s corpse-like body. Leonard stepped into the coffin, quivering as he held his beloved’s body. He brushed the black hair from his eyes, kissing his still soft lips gently.
Leonard pulled away quickly, closing his eyes. He didn’t want to witness if Klein’s body remained motionless, even for him.
Only a minute passed, but it felt like an eternity.
“...Leonard?” Asked a shaky, unsure voice.
Hope blossomed in his heart, and slowly, Leonard opened his eyes.
One year later, in the palace gardens.
Leonard stood under the magnolia trees, nervously fidgeting with his white tie, when the music began. He immediately straightened up, listening to the calming sound of Audrey’s cello. This day had been a long time coming, his heart beating fast under the pressure.
All his nervousness vanished when he saw Klein walk down the aisle. He had always looked good, no matter what he wore, but in this white, wedding suit… He had never looked more beautiful in Leonard’s eyes. They exchanged rings, vows, and their souls to each other, kissing amongst the chrysanthemums.
Finally, the missing part of his heart had been returned to him.
