Work Text:
Charlie was preparing his backpack to go spend the weekend with his dad Boyd, as always, he was excited, his dad Boyd always took him to paint graffiti's or had the most interesting anecdotes to tell. He heard Huey, his other dad, peeking out the door.
– You don't forget anything, do you? Although I could take you what you forget anyway
Huey was drinking a cup of tea, it was raining and cold outside, Huey looked at his son with tenderness and a little tiredness from working late.
– don't worry, I have everything there, I just need to bring some clothes
Both went to wait for Boyd in the living room, the two curled up on the sofa, Huey had his arm on Charlie, trying to protect him
- are you sure you want to go? I could do some oalomitas and we could watch movies together and...
– Dad...
Charlie interrupted him with a pout
-It's okay, I'll call before you go to sleep and it's better not to be late
Just at that moment the doorbell rang, Charlie ran to open the door and met Boyd, his dad, who smiled at him and ruffled his hair
– Hello, boy, are you ready?
Charlie gave his backpack to Boyd and went to get in the car, he knew he was going to talk about the monthly money, a talk he preferred not to listen to.
.
Inside the house, Boyd gave an envelope to Huey, who had the money for this month's maintenance. Boyd rolled his eyes when he saw his ex checking the amount.
– you know that I always give the same, I have never given less.
– I prefer to make sure
Huey answered dryly, he knew that Boyd would never give less money for Charlie, sometimes he caught him by giving extra money and he returned it. They had an agreement and that was what Huey made sure they continued, and bingo, fifty dollars extra, Huey proceeded to return it.
-This is yours, I don't need more money, thank you very much
Boyd laughed under his breath, slightly blushing from being caught again by Huey and accepted the money.
– oops, how did that get there?
Boyd played to be silly, Huey smiled and elbowed him.
– yes, of course, have a good weekend and take good care of him
Boyd rolled his eyes again.
– I know taking care of my son, thank you very much.
Huey watched the alpha leave, he watched the car leave from the door frame. He knew Boyd since he was fifteen, the alpha had taken care of him even when he had become pregnant at sixteen and Huey knew better than anyone that Boyd was an excellent father. Things between them had not gone well for issues that overcame the two of them and he... gave up, although now they were no longer sixteen-year-olds or twenty-two-year-olds who had just divorced, they were two thirty-year-old men with a fourteen-year-old son between them and they had to act as responsible parents.
Even if that led Huey's feelings to stay on the tip of his tongue.
