“I hate you.” She glared up at the stained window, a bright dazzling sun painted upon it. “I hate everything you put me through, you could have chosen any child for the solstice! Any child! But you chose me!”
Her fists gripped at her skirt as she glared up at it. Brugaves was asleep, not supposed to do his prayers until sunset.
She remembered being dragged into this room by Moraine, being screamed at, forced to kneel, forced to pray. Forced to be sorry for something she didn't understand.
She remembered it well, she was locked in that room, three days, and two sleepless nights, scraps being shoved under the door.
Moraine checked every morning to see if she repented yet. It wasn't until he found her sobbing and begging for forgiveness before he let her leave.
The others knew Moraine could be cruel. But they had no idea the abuse she suffered through. What happened to her or brugaves behind closed doors.
The days she returned with bruises and cuts, when brugaves would ask what happened. The days when he didn't know. She brushed it off saying she tripped or bumped into a wall. He learned soon enough.
She wasn't around to take the blame. Left him for a mere second. Moraine found a way to punish him for something.
“Why did you and Luana birth us into this cursed world… why curse us! Curse us with these awful powers! Why let the eagle bring us to our doom!” Tears of anger ran down our face. “If we are here just to suffer. Then I will find a way to turn it back on you tenfold. I hate you with all my heart Solen!”
She pulled a small golden prayer sun out of her pocket. She grabbed these whenever possible, for this reason alone.
She threw it to the ground watching it shatter, still not satisfied, she dropped her her knees and hit it over and over again until all that was left was a golden dust.
“I will never forgive you for bringing me here. And will never ever forgive you for all the others that came before or after.” She took a shaky breath as she turned to walk out of the room. “But if you or Luana hurt the kids, I will take it upon myself personally to destroy you, ruin your image in the minds of others and remove all your power.”
