It was a beautiful summer day in Smiling valley, and the beachiest of the smiling critters was hanging out on the salty shore beach, relaxing in a lounge chair and sipping a watermelon and mint mojito.
“Ahh… this is the life…” She says softly.
Suddenly, she hears someone walking by.
She lifted up her sunglasses, looking around, but couldn’t see anyone.
“Must’ve been the wind…”
She says, laying back down.
But again, she hears someone walking by her chair…
And again, she sits up, scared.
“Excuse me… is someone there?”
She looked around, but she still couldn’t see anyone.
“Okay, this is getting creepy…”
She says, getting up.
She walks towards where she heard the footsteps.
“Who’s there?”
She says, continuing to walk forward.
Then, she bumped into someone.
“AH!”
They both say as they fall into the sand.
After falling down, Viva rubs her head.
“Hey, what gives?!”
She says as she opens her eyes, seeing the now visible other person.
He was a chameleon critter, colored red, gold and green, and around his neck was a pendant shaped like a mirror.
He was also rubbing his head.
“O-oh, I'm so sorry!”
He says quietly, looking guilty.
Viva looks annoyed.
“Geez, you could have at least not been invisible…”
She says.
The chameleon whimpers a bit.
“Again, I'm sorry…”
He says, getting up and offering to help her up.
Viva accepts it, getting up as well.
“Why were you walking by me, anyway?”
The chameleon sighs.
“Well, I was looking for something, and I didn’t wanna bother you.”
Vi tilts her head. “What were you looking for?”
The chameleon looks nervous.
“I’m looking for an ocean crystal.”
He says.
“Why?”
Viva asks.
The chameleon blushes.
“W-well, I was hoping to use it to put on a little… light show...”
He says. “For my boyfriend…”
He looks away. “S-so he’ll be impressed with me…”
Viva smiles.
“Oh, well why didn’t you say so?”
She says. “I’ll help you find it.”
The chameleon’s eyes sparkle. “Really?”
Viva nods. “Of course.” she says.
The chameleon smiles. “Thank you.”
He says. “You’re so nice.”
Viva giggles.
“I’m AquaViva by the way.”
She says.
The chameleon smiles.
“Cali.”
He says. “Cali melon.”
And with that, they got to work searching for the crystal.
The pair spent many hours digging in the sand, no luck at finding the artifact.
When they got tired, they took a break, sitting on Viva’s chair.
“Geez, Cali, sorry I wasn’t much help…”
She says.
Cali sighs, “It’s okay…” He says. “Thanks for trying anyway.
Then, out of the corner of her eye, Viva spies something sparkly.
“Oooh, what’s that?”
She says, getting Cali’s attention as Viva goes to dig it up.
When Viva uncovers it, her eyes sparkle just as much.
It was a small sea-green jewel shaped like a conch shell.
“I finally found one!”
She says, smiling brightly.
Cali walks over.
“You found it?!”
Viva dusts some of the sand on, showing him.
Cali’s eyes sparkle.
“Amazing!”
He says with a smile. “How much?”
Viva giggles.
“Oh you don’t need to pay me for it, silly.”
She says, handing it to him. “It’s all yours.”
Cali smiles, taking it.
“Thank you so much!” He says. “You’re amazing!”
Viva giggles, swatting the air.
“Oh, think nothing of it, Cal.”
She says.
~That evening~
When Cali finally puts on his mini light show, Kickin was indeed impressed, giving him many kisses afterwards, which made him melt with love.
He appreciated Viva, and made a mental note to do something for her soon, to pay her back for helping him impress the love of his life.
Maybe he could help her with hers?
