“Hey Doctor Strange!”
Stephen looked up from his phone to see a certain teenager standing at the door to the deli and let out a huff of amusement.
“Peter Parker. Finally escape your helicopter mentor for once?”
Peter flushed pink. Stephen had met Peter after being invited over by Stark to potentially be recruited to whatever superhero group was going to exist now that the rest of the Avengers were running from authorities. Stephen hadn’t given an answer yet, but the appearance of Peter Parker had softened Stark to the point that Stephen trusted the billionaire a good chunk more than he had when entering the compound.
“Yeah, I only see Mr Stark on weekends. I think he and my Aunt figured out some sort of weird mentoring custody thing. I dunno…”
Stephen hummed in amusement before looking down at his phone again…then back to the teen.
“So…what exactly are you doing here at 11 am on a Wednesday then?”
“Uhhhh….”
Stephen stared at Peter sternly for a few seconds before chuckling.
“Relax, kid. I’m not going to snitch on you for skipping class. If anything, you need to learn how to not frequent areas where you could get caught.”
Peter looked like a deer in headlights.
“But I can get caught anywhere on the eastern seaboard thanks to Mr Stark.”
“Well then.” Stephen grabbed his sandwich, paid for his and for Peter’s before leading the teen out to the alley. There, he opened up a portal to Kamar-Taj.
“He can’t catch you if you’re in Nepal.”
Peter grinned.
“You’re officially my favorite superhero now!” He exclaimed as he jumped through the portal. Stephen merely stepped through the portal with a grin. He didn’t mind indulging the kid for an afternoon after Stark had sung the kid’s praises nearly the entire time he was there after they had met.
Now Stephen just had to hide from Wong’s potential wrath. At least he could use Peter as a shield…
