Assigments are piling up. Therefore, Haruka has to do em'. Haruka sits down and leans back, staring at her notebook. All of a sudden, her phone rings and interrupts the building tension. She picks up the call and a cheerful out comes by: "Haruka!"
Haruka doesn't really feel bothered anymore. The tips of her lips lift a bit. "Hm?" She murmurs. "Don't cha remember? It's gonna be Halloween, and, our anniversary too!" Minori exclaimed. You can feel her excitement vibrate through the phone.
"Yup. Let's go walk to the park after school." Haruka seems collected, less lively than Minori was. But the bunch of gifts, flowers, letters in the corner of her room contrast to that. "Love you." She hangs the phone up. Haruka puts her head over the sheets of paper, arms folded on top of the table. Her mind juggles assignment and the time she'll spend with Minori, not leaving much room about what to do. After a few minutes, Haruka finally picks up a pencil and presses down on the paper for a moment. Her pencil lead finally swooped over the sheet of paper.
Haruka flips over page to page, glancing at her phone every few seconds. As she's nearly over with her work, Haruka suddenly stumbles. Her eyes blur, handwriting dyin' out, eyelids heavy, then there goes.. Her head on the table.
5 AM. Haruka suddenly wakes up. The chair is on the floor, and Haruka's head is right just beneath her bed. The first thing she looks at is a stack of the gifts she planned to give to Minori later on. A burst of energy suddenly goes through, motivated to make sure Minori receives it. Haruka sits up, reaches for the bag where she planned to put all of it in, and takes her sweet time to pack the gifts in. That's what she spends 20 minutes doing before school.
Her memories flood back even more. Her hand gets on the table, lifting herself up with it. She takes one last press against the sheets, and gently places it inside of her bag.
Haruka races to get breakfast and just makes some toast instead of cooking. She eats it up and to simplify it; she's speeding around the house to do everything she needs to do. The reason why she's such in a rush..? Well —
She's arrived in her class. Seeing Minori's desk, she brings out the stuff from her third bag — packed with the preparation for their first anniversary ever since they had confessed to each other. She sits down on her chair, placing a letter under her desk. Haruka slaps on a sticky note on top of it. 'remember to meet me afterschool'
She finally relaxes, seated on Minori's chair for a moment before finally sitting back on hers. Deeepp breath... A few hours later, school is dun. Haruka and Minori are wrapping their elbows around, just walkin' out of the school.
"Which park though..? There's two around Miyasamazuka, so I dunno which one you we're talking about." She scratches the back of her neck, raising an eyebrow.
"You can guess by which direction we're walking thru."
For now, the sound of their shoes tapping on the pavement will continue their conversation for a few minutes. Haruka's bag is weighing down on her, but she'd do anything to make this anniversary one in a trillion. Minori's eyes scan her surroundings. The path is not in her recognition.
"Eh..? I can't tell... we're going through the crossing?" Haruka keeps her mouth shut, letting Minori stay on her tippy toes. Grasp on each other's elbows still tight. Minori is still perplexed, but she just wants to spend time with her partner. Halloween decorations are put up to their left and right. After a few minutes, Haruka finally halts. "Aaaah, I know this place! Yoyogi Park is usually quiet."
"You guessed it." She takes her inside of the park. Haruka lets go of her hand and zips open her bag. Suddenly,
"By the way, there was a letter under my desk. I'm assumin' it was from you..." She pauses. Her smile is ear to ear. You can feel it's warmth through the air. Her face gets a bit red. She raises her face, catching a glimpse of Haruka's face. "I'm grateful." Their fingers twine. "We'll save that bag for later." Minori boosts her up. Her other hand cups her face, and her heel is off of the grass. She makes it so that, Haruka's hands are on her lips. She lowers it, and gives her a dozen of quick pecks.
Haruka is struggling to blurt out anything because of how rapidly she's giving her physical affection. It's been a whole minute, and Minori breaks her barrage with love. Haruka finally gets to breathe. "C-can I give something to you now...?"
"You're so cheeky for preparing all of that!" She grins, seein' the bag. Bouquets, chocolates, handmade cards, and multiple other things specifically thought out for her, aaaaaaaaaaaaall over the place... Haruka reached for a bouquet and held it out to her. The scent is unique, nostalgic, and sweet. "Happy Anniversary."
