The sky was a blue melting into an inky black. It was gorgeous. Two Time was almost jealous they couldn't be a star in the sky. Admiring the sky as it shifted colors. Admiring their dear Azure from above it all.
Azure’s fingers were tangled with theirs. Each laying down on the grass, snuggled up as the sun dipped into the abyss.
Azure smiled at him softly. “Isn't this nice?” He asked shifting to his side, head propped on his hand. “Just us two enjoying the sunset.”
Two Time smiled back brightly. Their smile was creepier than Azure’s but Azure has said he loved it anyway.
“Indeed.” Two Time breathed, cheeks warming slightly as they gazed at the other.
Their smile twitched as they reached for Azure’s hair, black strands falling in front of his eyes.
“You're brighter than the sun.” They whispered, fingers twirling the strands as they inched closer to their lover.
“Brighter than the cult?” Azure asked coldly. The air froze, Two Time’s hand going stiff in his hair.
“What?” They murmured. “What kind of question is that?” Azure simply smiled dully.
“The cult is life. How could anyone be brighter than that?” Two Time breathed in awe. Azure stayed silent fingers twitching.
“It is, isn't it.” His smile twisted, the air chilling. A string of blood slipped past Azure’s lips splattering onto the grass, staining the green a crimson red. Two time froze, shooting to his knees.
“Azure! You're bleeding!” They yelped, hands reaching for Azure's face. Azure tilted his head as Two Time's warm fingers closed around his cheeks. Azure 's skin was icy, a stark change from Two Time's warmth.
The string of blood flowing down his skin turned to a river, the grass turning red.
Two Time froze, heart stuttering as the river flowed onto their hands. Azure smiled, reaching out for his face smearing blood across it.
“Don't you remember?” He whispered bangs falling over his eyes. “You stabbed me. For the cult. You killed me.” Two Time's eyes widened, heart racing as they attempted to move away from the man in front of him “Do you regret it?”
“The cult-”
“You do know, don't you,” Azure interrupted. “That I could’ve been the one to slaughter you for the cult. Don’t you?” Two Time frowned eyes watering.
“It would’ve been a righteous cause!” They gasped, grabbing Azure's hands desperately. “You must believe me!” Azure's face twitched to a scowl.
“You don't love me.”
“I do!” Two Time retorted in shock. “How could you ever say that?” Azure tilted his head once more.
“Don't you know? Killing those you ‘love’ for a cult isn't love…in fact,” Azure moved his body until he was positioned over Two Time. “I should just return the favor!”
The knife flashed once plunging into Two Time’s chest, sinking to their heart. They gasped, blood splattering their face as they slumped to the ground. Azure yanked the knife out before plunging it in once more.
“Two Time!” A familiar voice called as the world began to fade.
His eyes opened weakly to Elliot standing over him.
“Come on Two Time,” the pizza man sighed. “We gotta get ready for the next round.” They blinked, shifting to sit up. The dream clung to them, gripping their icy claws around their heart.
They let out a breath trying to shake off Azure from their mind as they followed Elliot off to another round.
