Work Text:
Edan didn’t sleep well last night. He didn’t know how Lafi and Martha slept through the noise that came from last night, looking at their Edana friend and her on-and-off again lover, Prince Barhan. The prince seemed to be too pleased with himself and knew why Edan couldn’t sleep.
“What’s wrong, Edan?” Barhan smirked. “You look a bit grumpy today.”
“Tired, I couldn’t sleep last night.”
“Was it that my little dragon snored a bit too loudly?” the prince said with joking matter.
Rosemary, the Drakania, gave a small smack at Barhan and a dirty look.
“Not that,” he responded. “More like scream your name, thrice.”
“Edan!” Martha nearly slapped him for saying it.
“I would apologize, but I’m not sorry,” Barhan said. “Too bad you guys never learn the Valencian sleeping technique.”
“Barhan,” Rosemary warned as she pinched his ear.
Rosemary wouldn’t do anything while Martha was giving Edan an earful for letting it slip that everyone heard the lovers last night. However, Barhan knew not to say much, since he genuinely enjoyed his time with Rosemary. Thankfully, Saya wasn’t here, or else she too would be giving him an earful.
“I guess we need to discuss what needs to be done,” Edan said after Martha finished her rant.
“My little dragon will take care of it,” Barhan said. “We all know she would do the job quicker than any of us.”
“Like what she does with you?” Edan jabbed back.
“Edan!” Martha looked mortified.
Lafi wanted to make a quip, but this was too much fun, and he didn’t want to get into Martha’s crosshairs. Rosemary chuckled at that. A soft smile and bringing Barhan citron juice would keep his mouth shut.
“Unlike you,” Barhan smirked. “I had the strength to confess to Rosemary. I feel sorry for Orwen that she stays single.”
“Barhan,” Rosemary gave a slight tug at Barhan’s ear.
Lafi laughed as he felt that burn. Martha told him to stop laughing. And Edan needed a better comeback while plotting to tell Orwen his feelings. Oh, what to do? What could he say that Barhan won’t turn the tables on him? Riding the dragon seemed to be a low shot, and Barhan could easily rebuttal it. Of course, Rosemary being the Edana would be in Barhan’s favor.
“At least my father-in-law won’t be a dragon.”
“Isn’t Caphras cra….?” Lafi was about to ask before Martha shut him up.
“What is the dwarf going to say?” Barhan asked.
“Caphras’ mother is the crazy one,” Rosemary pointed out. “Believe me, I dealt with her more times than I can count. That bitch backstabbed one too many times.”
“At least Orwen isn’t terrifying or gets into too many crazy adventures.”
“That’s why I love my little dragon,” Barhan gave Rosemary a loving look.
“Ah, thank you, my prince,” Rosemary held his hand.
A/M: This is a silly one-shot. I’m planning to do more one-shots, but don’t worry - I’m still going to continue with “Growing Affections.” This one-shot had been bouncing in my head for quite some time, thanks to a very much-loved follower mod from Skyrim and his interaction with Farkas. I had to use Drakania since she has a dragon parent. While I could use Guardian, I tend to ship her with Vilks since I see him liking Amazon-type women, so that it wouldn’t work.
I hope you enjoy this one-shot. Please leave a kudo and/or comment. This would be part of a collection of one-shots, so please look out for those.
