Chapter 1: Introduction
Chapter Text
“Allen! What’s today's snack!” Riliane burst into the Council room. Behind her trailed her twin brother Allen, carrying a stack of papers.
He cleared his throat. “Riliane, the Council room is for work and not just snacks. Actually, I have some documents you need to look over!”
He dropped the stack of papers onto the desk. Riliane, not paying attention, grabbed a brioche from her bag. “Can you do it?”
“You have to do it on your own.”
Riliane slumped onto the chair. “How bothersome!” She picked up her pen and begrudgingly looked at the paper on the top. Allen took his place beside her.
“Worry not! The work will be easier once everyone else arrives.” A smooth, velvety voice rang throughout the Council room.
“Sati?” Riliane paused and spun around in her chair.
Sateriasis leaned against the book shelf, a pleasant smile on his face. He uncrossed his arms and walked up to Riliane. She proceeded to throw her pen at his face.
“When did you get here?” she whined. “I’m the one who's supposed to be first.”
“Worry not. I came just after you did.”
The dark purple of his hair glowed under the light. Riliane huffed and turned back to the papers. She searched for another pen to use. When she finally found one the Council room door burst open.
“Can we ban Conchita from the cooking room?” Gallerian shouted as he entered. In front of him he was pushing Banica into the room.
“I was just checking up on the condition.”
Gallerian slammed the door behind him and rubbed the bridge of his nose. “There’s only like one member left in that club. I’m definitely disbanding that club if I don’t get a bribe.”
Banica whipped around so fast Gallerian almost fell to the ground. “You can’t! How else do I get my food?! I’m still banned from the cafeteria because of something from two years ago!”
“Wasn’t that because you ate everything from the menu everyday?” Riliane butted in.
Banica slid into the chair beside her. Riliane quickly took half of the stack of paper and shoved it toward Banica.
Gallerian sat by Banica. “Get your cousin, children, whatever they are, to make your concoction for you.”
Before he could receive a response, someone began to frantically knock on the door. When Sateriasis opened it he was pushed out the way by Kayo. He frowned and went to his seat.
“Sorry I’m so late! The vice president thought walking was too bothersome so I had to bring her here.” Kayo’s voice was gentle as always, very contrasted by the fact she was dragging Margarita, who was deep in sleep, by her collar.
Kayo set Margarita into her chair before going to her own. Margarita sunk onto the floor, causing her chair to roll away.
Riliane made her way to the middle of the room. “Has everyone arrived? Yes? That’s good! We have a busy schedule ahead of us for the foreseeable future, so we shall get to work!”
Chapter 2: The Doll and Nemesis
Summary:
Nemesis doesn’t like Gallerian’s favorite doll.
Notes:
Gallerian you and your girl dad tendencies toward a doll is so funny. The doll collecting hobby came from his intro in the quartets of evil. I think that in this story Nemesis is a relative’s child his family took in, and he decided she was basically his daughter now.
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
The student body considered treasurer Gallerian Marlon a little terrifying at the least.
He was the oldest Student Council member and a genius when it came to anything monetary related. He knew stocks better than even the teachers there and thought that trading and investments were fun.
What was not as known, though, was his love for dolls. In fact, Gallerian had a hobby of collecting all kinds of dolls, especially old and rare ones.
His favorite was a porcelain doll, one he gave the name “Michelle”. He had already spent quite some money on buying that doll in the first place, and still spends even more on buying it clothes and toys.
Nemesis hated going into his room because of that doll collection. Ever since his family took her in when she was a little girl, she avoided them.
She thought it would be embarrassing to admit she found dolls creepy. She’d rather hear Gallerian ramble about monthly bribe revenue than spend time with those porcelain things. That was something, considering the fact Nemesis once had had a fist fight with Gallerian over his annoying money obsession (a fight she had won).
— — —
“Nemesis! Can you grab my planner from my room?” Gallerian shouted from his study.
Nemesis pulled her hand out of Ziz-san’s tank and wiped the water off onto her skirt. She groaned while walking to his door.
She unconsciously paused before turning the handle. His room smelt a little like pennies, metal, and laundry detergent.
Gallerian’s room was larger than hers. He always kept it tidy and clean and made an effort to organize everything. His desk was filled with Student Council papers and files, as well as textbooks and school work. To the right of his school supplies was a concerning amount of materials related to stocks and trading and all those money related things that irritated Nemesis. At least he was smart enough to hide his safe.
Nemesis reached toward the dark blue book labeled “Year Planner”. She glanced toward the right of the planner, and the spot that should have had information on something like liquid assets instead held a doll.
She jumped back and almost knocked into his chair. There was Michelle, her teal hair done into twin tails. She was wearing new clothes too, a fluffy, multi-layered dress of white and dark fuchsia. She even had one of those rectangle headdresses.
Michelle sat there, her glassy and unfocused eyes staring into nothing. Her head was slightly tilted to the side in a way that felt mocking.
Nemesis stood still for a few seconds before Gallerian yelled out again. “Nemesis, did you get my planner? I need to check out bribes again!”
She quickly snatched the planner off of the desk and ran straight for the door. Before she left, she took one last look at Michelle.
Nemesis noticed how Michelle’s eyes were looking at her now. She paled at least ten shades before bolting to Gallerian’s study.
“Couldn’t you have gotten it yourself?” Nemesis wrinkled her nose.
“Finally. Thank you!” He didn’t even look at her when he grabbed the planner from her hand. “By the way, did you see Michelle’s new outfit? It’s cute, isn’t it? You see, I have to get my daughter the best outfits possible. Since she’s the cutest I have to search for only the best clothes. As her sister, I’m sure you can admire her cuteness like everyone else can. Maybe you can get a nice outfit too if I get another bribe.” Halfway through his rambling Gallerian looked up from his work. For someone who was talking about a doll, he seemed genuinely happy.
Nemesis crossed her arms. “Why did you have to make me deal with all your weird dolls and—” Nemesis stopped mid sentence. “How would a doll be your daughter? And how would I even be her sister???”
The shocked look on her face didn’t phase Gallerian as he turned back to his work. “Of course she is. And you too can be sisters.”
Nemesis sighed in anger, showing off her restraint by not beating him up then and there. She returned to her room and looked at Ziz-san. She was definitely sure that even her pet octopus had more sense than Gallerian.
Notes:
Gallerian has a stinky room.
Chapter 3: The Three Claimed Heroes
Summary:
Elluka tries to break up a fight between Leonhart and Mariam but gets distracted.
Chapter Text
Elluka Clockworker was part of what was called the “Three Heroes”. It wasn’t any official group, just a little nickname given to her and her fellow teachers Leonhart and Mariam. The title given to this trio has been around as long as they’ve been teaching at the academy.
The thing was, the Three Heroes were the youngest teachers, and by a lot. That wasn’t to discredit them, as they would say they had earned that title.
The three of them were almost like school advisers that doubled as teachers. Elluka carried vast knowledge, Leonhart was physically strong, and Mariam carried a little of both qualities.
Leonhart was quite proud of his strength and past as a prodigy in strength, as was Mariam despite her serious demeanor. Elluka was proud of herself too, maybe just not to the degree of her colleagues.
Maybe they were a little too proud, Elluka thought as she rushed into the gymnasium. Earlier, a student had run up to her and told her to come to the gym. When questioned, the student just said “Mr. Avadonia and Ms. Phutapie are fighting again!”
The type of fight was to be worried about later. Her boots squeaked against the polyurethane finish of the gymnasium floor. She pinched the bridge of her nose between her fingers when she saw what was happening.
Lo and behold, Leonhart and Mariam were wrestling each other. They weren’t even using a mat. Just straight up on the gym floor.
Students gathered around them in awe as they punched each other. Mariam had him in a chokehold before he managed to free himself and land a punch in the process.
Elluka tapped her foot in annoyance, waiting for the two of them to notice. She turned to the student beside her, noticing the light yellow hair. “N-Ney?” she asked.
The student turned back to her. “Ms. Clockworker?”
Elluka faltered for a second, confused. “What in the world is going on with those too?”
“One of the kids asked about their military jobs. Leonhart said he only did some training and was never deployed. Mariam said she only did a little intelligence but knew how to fight.”
“And…?”
“And then they started talking about their physical strength. Someone asked about their fighting experience and how strong they were. They argued for a little before deciding to fight it out.”
“Moreover, why aren’t you helping your mom?!”
Ney glanced at Mariam, who was currently roundhouse kicking Leonhart. “She’s fine on her own. Have you seen her fight?”
Exasperated, Elluka exclaimed, “Of course I’ve seen her fight! We’re coworkers!” She started pacing. “What should I do about those idio- two now?!”
Elluka marched up to them. “What are you doing?!!”
Leonhart stopped mid-fight to give a brief answer. “Proving my strength, of course.”
“At least wait until after school!”
“Ms. Clockworker!” one of the students in the crowd called out. “What about you? Can you fight too?”
“Of course I can!”
“But like, not as a mage or whatever. In an actual fight.”
Elluka spun around, searching for the student who insulted her dear magic. “That does count!”
“Not really. Are you, like, not as strong?”
“I am!”
“Are you sure?”
The furious Elluka practically tore her shoes off.
Leonhart let out a hearty laugh. “Now do you get it?” Mariam let out one of her rare chuckles as Elluka kicked her to the side.
— — —
Riliane held her ear next to the gymnasium wall. The curious Allen stood beside her.
“Riliane, what’s going on in there?”
Without answering him, she burst through the gymnasium door to take a peak. She and Allen poked their heads around the door.
They witness three grown adults duel it out in front of a group of entertained children cheering them on. Upon further inspection Riliane realized who the adults were.
She quickly turned to Allen. “Is that…”
Allen, in shock, whispered back, “Leonhart?!”
Riliane cleared her throat. “Are teachers allowed to do that?”
“Should we do anything about this?”
“Or maybe we could just slowly walk back to the Council room and hope we go unnoticed.”
Notes:
I didn’t know how to finished the chapter so I blanked out and came up with that
Chapter 4: That Family I Never Knew
Summary:
Ney wonders about Riliane and Allen.
Notes:
Dedicated to commenter fazfanazy! Anyways, here’s some small Ney angst.
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
Ney had always watched Riliane and Allen from afar. Her half siblings, two people she felt like she needed to hate. Ney thought she did, but sometimes she wondered what it would be like to grow closer to them.
Ney hated a lot of things in her life. She never spoke it out, because what good would it be if she did. Her mother Prim would be disappointed as it could ruin the plans she painstakingly created. Ney was honored to be a part of those plans.
Even when she had botched her attempt at giving the Lucifen food poisoning (of course by her mother’s request), Prim had just shook her head and said they had next time.
Ney looked up from the small lunch Prim had packed her. The small piece of cold leftover fish wasn’t appetizing at all, but what else could she do?
The table across from her was where Riliane and Allen sat. They seemed to be having fun with their meal. Of course Riliane had a brioche saved for her dessert. Ney was only older by two years, but she thought she was much more mature then the twins.
Did they know they were related? Ney knew that they shared a father, something seared into her memory after many angry tirades from Prim where she shouted about having her love stolen from her by a woman named Anne.
That’s why she hated the Lucifen family. Prim taught her to hope for their downfall, yet they still seemed fine. Wonderful, in fact.
She pushed bits of fish around with her fork. If Mariam saw this she would make a scene, causing Prim to be angered with Ney for worrying other people over nothing. She had seen Prim mad before, and that’s something she never wanted to see again.
“Hey!”
Ney looked up and glanced around. She went to look back at her food but she paused.
Riliane and Allen waltzed up to her. “Ney! What are you even doing? Come sit with me and Allen.”
Ney tilted her head. “Huh?”
“You should be sitting with us! And what even is that food?” Riliane gripped her sleeves and pulled her from her chair. Allen gave her an apologetic look as they walked back to the Lucifen’s table.
“Ney?” This time Allen was speaking with her. “Aren’t we related? I think dad mentioned it once.”
Ney almost laughed. “Sure, whatever helps.”
Allen’s confused smile was a little endearing to look at. He appeared younger than he actually was, even if he was 14.
Her answer may have been a bit cold, but Ney actually was quite content at the prospect of possibly getting to know her siblings. She wouldn’t have known that herself, but she recognized the slight warmth in her heart. It was the same feeling she got when Prim praised her.
Ney had always watched Riliane and Allen from afar. She was told that her half siblings and their family were to be crushed for what they did to Prim. But now, sitting up close to them and sharing lunch with them, Ney wanted to know if they were as bad as she thought.
Notes:
Riliane tried being nice in her own way.
Chapter 5: Inedible
Summary:
The Student Council finds a very disgusting lunch in their room
Notes:
I finally wrote a chapter with banicarlos and a Levia appearance
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
The Student Council circled around the lunch left in the middle of the desk. The day they decided to eat together was the day that someone decided to leave an abomination in their room.
“W-what? What in the great heavens is that?!” Sateriasis stuttered out. Cherubim, who tagged along with Sateriasis, looked deeply concerned.
Riliane and Allen huddled together, faces pale. Gallerian, though mostly uninterested, still felt disgusted. Kayo’s usually pleasant smile faded. Even Margarita was grossed out.
Then there was Banica. She was the last person to enter the Council room, apparently late from running an errand. She was worried when she saw everyone huddled together, but became excited seeing what they were looking at.
“My lunch!” She lifted the tray into her arms and reclined on her chair.
Gallerian quickly grabbed the tray from her. “This is not lunch.”
Banica jumped up from her seat and reached for the tray. Sateriasis took the tray and tried sniffing it, he recoiled and held it far from him. Cherubim peeked from behind him and studied the tray.
“Is this… thing even edible? We should take it to the nurse.” Sateriasis swallowed a gag.
“It’s perfectly safe! Carlos made it for me!” Before Banica could finish defending herself, the Council had already shuffled out of the room and toward the nurse.
— — —
Levia gave a blank stare to the group of kids bursting into the nurse’s office. Her lunch break was soon and she was starving. Never again would she skip breakfast, even if she was running late.
“Ms. Barisol!” Sateriasis slammed a tray onto her desk. Loose pieces of paper drifted away from the impact. “Please, inform us about whatever could be in this meal.”
Levia’s boredom lifted as she pulled on latex gloves. She gave the food (?) a poke, causing it to give a little jiggle.
Gathered around her was the Council. They waited with baited breath as Levia pulled out a scalpel and cut through what was apparently lime flavored gelatin.
It cut somewhat smoothly. The gelatinous mass held a lump of weird meat in the middle of it. The fact it was uncooked was the least worrying thing about this meal.
Surrounding the mass on the tray were wrapped pieces of cold baloney. When cut open, one of the pieces had a heavy helping of tomato sauce. Sprinkled on top was an assortment of fruits covered in a thick juice of some kind that definitely didn’t come from anything on the tray.
Was that mayonnaise mixed into the gelatin? It smelled like it to Levia, who had gotten way too close during her examination.
Levia pushed her chair back, rolling away before nausea took away her appetite. She coughed, the rancid smell burning her nostrils. “It appears to be made from ingredients safe to eat individually. As long as it is cooked properly and not expired, that is.”
She flinged her scalpel away, the remains of the meal clinging to the blade. Just as Levia tore off her gloves and threw them away, the door opened.
“My food!” Banica rushed to the desk and took back her tray. She sighed in relief seeing it wasn’t discarded.
Riliane marched up to her. “As your president, I can’t allow you to eat that! Even if it is safe to eat, it’s just plain gross.”
Banica frowned. “Carlos made this for me. He lovingly makes all my lunches.”
“That’s not very lovely though.”
“Of course my boyfriend would make my food with love.”
Riliane was about to speak but paused in surprise. “You’re dating him?!”
Gallerian was already walking out of the nurses office. “No one would make such a thing unless it was a request from someone they really loved. Now, can we just go eat?”
Banica was in the midst of a bite but she aggressively nodded in agreement.
Levia was spaced out, very obviously tired and awaiting her break.
— — —
Carlos walked out of the cooking club kitchen, almost absentmindedly. He was only brought back to reality when he felt someone hug him from behind. His face reddened when he realized who it was.
“Banica, how was lunch today?”
She rested her head in the crook of his neck. “It was wonderful today. Thank you!” She sighed and let go of him. “I have to go now, but I’ll see you tomorrow!” She left a kiss on his cheek before running off.
Carlos felt where she kissed him, the heat of his face radiating onto his hand. He was almost feverish. He noticed how he was just standing still in the middle of the hallway, so he began to quickly walk.
He never thought he would be cooking monstrosities, especially for the person he loved. But there he was, doing something he never thought he would for someone he loved more than he thought was possible.
Notes:
Don’t worry, there will be a chapter with Behemo one day. Anyways all the Levia fans get some crumbs of her.
Chapter 6: Clockwork Dating Rumors
Summary:
Irina has some rumors to share.
Notes:
I’m finally writing a chapter with Irina (my literal favorite). I think in the Capriccio AU she’d definitely like rumors or at least giving other people gossip.
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
She was getting a little worked up. Kayo was always smiling, a gentle and inviting one. She was public relations, after all. But she had her own issues.
Especially when it comes to dating.
Kayo did not like dating.
More like she got… jealous? Riliane knew that Kayo had some stalking tendencies and got all huffy when talking romance, but today’s girl talk was completely different.
Kayo, Riliane, Margarita, and Banica sometimes stayed after school to do some talking. This time the brunette of the group would be out. Their talk began on the topic of Banica and Carlos, maybe something wrong to touch upon.
Kayo looked like she was going to start frothing at the mouth as she chanted something under her breath. It was something like “Normie.”
Kayo suddenly shouted out, “All normies need to explode!”
Margarita, who was dozing off, jolted awake. “You ok?” she slurred.
Riliane, who jumped back farther than humanly possible, walked back to her chair. “It’s just a boyfriend. Actually, he’s the blue-haired cooking club boy? He looks like that boy you like—”
Kayo cut her off. “He does not!”
“Which boy?” Margarita yawned.
Kayo snapped her head in her direction.
There was a knock at the Council door. Margarita, instead of greeting the person, waved her hand in the air. “Come in.”
The door creaked open, and a girl with light pink hair peeked her head in.
Kayo’s demeanor changed back to her public relations personality. “What is it that you need?”
In walked Irina Clockworker, her bag slumped on her shoulder. “I heard you talking about Conchita’s boyfriend. You know, she isn’t the only one in the Council with a date.”
Kayo stiffened. Her pupils shrunk a little so Riliane moved away a little.
Irina continued. “Actually, I think I saw Gallerian with someone the other day. It was the Bruno Zero boy. I think that’s his name.”
“Oh, well then. I guess he’s going out with someone too.” Kayo’s voice was dangerously high pitched now.
“And Riliane’s little servant boy. Allen? He hasn’t a date yet but I think he might have a little crush.”
Riliane perked up. “Allen has a crush?! Who is it?!”
Irina’s cat-like smirk widened. “Now, I don’t know if I should say… but I could spare you some hints maybe. Oh! You’re friends with Clarith too, right? How is she and Micaela doing?”
Riliane was falling out of her chair at this point. “She’s dating Michaela?!”
Kayo was shaking in her chair. Even her eyes were twitching so hard they might have fallen out. “Wow, all these normie… so fun…
“Hold on, sit here and tell us more about Galley. Since Bani isn’t here you can take her seat.” Margarita had gotten a little intrigued with what Irina was saying.
“Okay then.”
— — —
Irina was fully grinning when she left the Council room. That Kayo girl looked almost sick, and the other two were way too interested in her gossip for their own good.
All she had to do was bring up Allen for Riliane to listen. Now even Margarita had started calling her “Ira” for some reason.
She couldn’t wait to hear what would be going on with the Council. Irina knew most of those rumors were true, or just stretched the truth only a little bit. She was always the first to know, since she was practically everywhere.
That mention of Clarith was only a tease, it made things more interesting. They, as in Riliane and Margarita because Kayo was not feeling happy, were too busy asking about Gallerian instead.
Blue hair caught Irina’s eye. Walking past her was the man himself. He carried his head high, files and folders in his arms. Irina paused for a second, the smile of a madman on her face. He was walking in the direction of the Council room.
Yes. Irina definitely couldn’t wait to hear him bombarded by the girls. She waited for him to be out of sight before pivoting and scurrying behind him.
They couldn’t even blame her, since she said “don’t tell it was me.”
Notes:
I headcannon that Margarita had nicknames for almost everyone since that would be cute. Soon I want to write a chapter that’s more Margarita-centric (by soon it’s probably gonna be the next chapter).
Chapter 7: Future pharmacist
Summary:
Margarita visits the nurse’s office to ask some questions about med school.
Chapter Text
Margarita Blankenheim admired the school nurses. She had always wanted to be a pharmacist, finding interest in medicines and the likes.
She decided to spend that day’s lunch in the nurse's office. Maybe she could learn a thing or too from Levia and Behemo.
“Sure, you can stay,” Levia sighed and took another bite of her meal. Behind her, Behemo was organizing a collection of medical and scientific books.
“So, how was medical school?”
Levia quirked an eyebrow. “What an odd question.”
“I want to know before I join med school one day!”
Behemo spun around and clapped his hands on Levia’s shoulders. “We actually went to med school together!”
Levia grimaced, annoyed. “I didn’t just study medicine. I also went for psychology. I could’ve actually worked in a hospital as a doctor.”
“Me too!” Behemo exclaimed.
Levia brushed his hands off. Behemo sat next to her and took out his own lunch.
“What did you learn about?” Margarita, the usually tired girl who seemed uninterested, was sitting upright and intrigued.
“There was so much to learn! First there was the basics like anatomy. After that was learning more about medicine and illnesses.” Behemo bent both his hands under his chin.
“Can you make medicine?!”
Levia boxed up her empty lunch box. “Sure I can.”
Margarita slammed her hands onto the desk, her eyes glimmering. “Can you teach me?! What about with poisons?”
Levia pushed herself off her chair and walked around the desk. She shuffled through a rack of medicines and aids brought by students. “I can’t say anything about poisons, but I could teach you about medicines.”
“I can do that too! I know how to make lots of things!” Behemo joined in.
“You know,” Margarita noted, “I never expected you to be into nursing, Behemo. You don’t seem much like the type.”
Behemo turned to her. Even with his smile, his eyebrows were furrowed. “And what makes you think that?”
“Maybe it’s because you like dressing up in maid dresses after school.” Levia gave Behemo a side glance, rolling her eyes.
Behemo shot up. “Hey!!” He sounded more offended than anything. “What’s wrong with cute clothes?”
“You don’t see that often in medical professionals.”
Margarita giggled as Behemo pouted. She looked at the clock and yawned. “Wait, I have a meeting in five minutes. I’ll be back soon.”
Margarita packed up her stuff and left the nurse’s office, giving it one last longing look.
— — —
“Can you check this out?” Margarita handed a wrapped package to Behemo. He gently tore off the paper and examined the small ointment. “It’s for soreness and sleep,” she added.
Levia peaked at the small bottle. She rubbed a drop on her wrist, massaging it in. “It’s very impressive for someone your age, especially still in high school.”
“Definitely! You’re already good at this!” Behemo grinned.
Margarita grabbed her school bag from the desk. “Thank you! If I make any more I’ll bring it here,” she said with a smile before leaving the nurse’s office.
“I’ll use the rest of this!” Behemo pocketed the bottle. Levia reached into his pocket and took it back.
“We’re keeping it here. Whatever weird thing you’re planning this time is not happening.” Levia placed the bottle on the highest shelf.
“I just can't have fun, can I?” Behemo sulked, sinking into his chair.
Notes:
I said I was gonna write that Margarita focus. This was based on the little part of the quartets of evil where it said she wanted to become a pharmacist.
Chapter 8: Margarita’s nicknames
Summary:
Margarita doesn’t refer to people by their given name.
Notes:
So I may have taken a long unintended break. I’ve had a lot of school work and life events recently, so I’m sorry about that! Also in case her nicknames need decoding:
Gallerian - Galley
Kayo - Kay
Riliane - Rillie
Allen - Allie
Banica - Ani
Carlos - Carly
Irina - Ira
Sateriasis - Sati
Cherubim - Cheri
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
“Kay, would you please pass this over?” Margarita, who had been stretching over to the opposite end of her lunch table, handed Kayo a small bag.
“Who do I give this to?”
“It’s for Galley. I need to test a new medicine I made. It’s meant to help keep people awake.”
Kayo slid the bag to Gallerian, who had his arm in his hands. He snored, oblivious to the girls.
“Are you allowed to make this? Besides, a medicine for energy is something new for you.”
Margarita took a bite of her food, a simple meal of bread and soup. “Oh, but the nurses told me I should expand my med making a little more.”
Gallerian stirred awake and looked at Margarita with confusion. He had dark circles under his eyes, no doubt from spending nights spying on stock values.
“Galley! You woke up!” Margarita pointed to the bag next to him. “That should help you stay energized longer.”
He slammed his hand on the bag and furrowed his brows. “Galley? What kind of name is that?”
“Yours.”
He put his head back down and groaned.
— — —
Rilliane, Banica, Kayo, and Margarita had all gathered back in the Council room.
“Is Ira joining us today?” Margarita leaned back into her chair, her eyes already closing.
“Ira? Who is—— oh! You mean Irina?” Rilliane placed her hands in her lap.
“Yes Rillie! Her.”
“What.”
Margarita opened her eyes. “Is there a problem?”
Riliane gestured wildly. “What is a ‘Rillie’?”
“You.”
“Me?!”
Margarita nodded. She closed her eyes again and almost fell asleep when Riliane gripped her shoulders. “Rillie this, Ira that! What is with these names?!”
Before getting an answer, Margarita already dozed off. Riliane groaned.
— — —
“Carly, have you seen Ani?”
Carlos was dicing carrots into little pieces. The smaller the chunks the better they would make for a carrot cake. There was a girl with teal twin tails wandering around the cooking club’s kitchen, but it wasn’t his problem.
The girl walked right up to him and leaned into him. “Carly?”
Carlos jumped back. “Whose Carly?”
“That’s you. You’re Carlos Marlon, right?”
Carlos put the knife down. “Yes?”
The girl rubbed the side of her face, suppressing a yawn. “So then you would know where Ani is.”
Carlos looked around. The kitchen was empty save for the two of them. “There’s no one named Ani here.”
“But that’s your girlfriend?”
“Banica?!”
“Where is she? She missed today’s meeting so I have to find her.”
Carlos placed his head in his hands. The girl continued to look, waiting for his answer. When he didn’t, she left the kitchen. She looked a little dazed. Was she on something?
— — —
Margarita entered the Council room, ready to fall asleep during whatever discussion was being held that day. Instead, all the Council members were facing her like they planned some sort of intervention. Even Nemesis was there.
Riliane pointed to a chair in the middle. “Take a seat. And you better stay awake for this.”
Margarita slowly sat herself down.
“Thank you for coming,” Riliane crossed her arms. “I think we should talk a little about your… nicknames.”
“Everyone has Names, Rillie.”
“That’s not the thing, Margarita. What is the name of everyone?”
Margarita scratched her chin before turning to Sateriasis. “That’s Sati and his brother is Cheri. That’s Kay, then Galley, and then Emi.”
Gallerian grabbed Nemesis by her shoulders so she wouldn’t jump over the meeting table and attempt to attack Margarita. He should really try and help her through those anger issues.
Margarita, oblivious, went on. “You’re Rillie and your brother is Allie. And then Ani.”
Banica was amused. She lightly chuckled, asking, “Do you not know our names?”
“I remember some I think. I like these names though. Easier to say. Takes less time too.”
The Council shared glances at each other. She definitely forgot at least one name. At this point, there was nothing for them to do.
Notes:
I think Margarita can come up with many more increasingly weirder and concerning nicknames.
Also, my birthday is in 4 days so there’s that!
Let’s hope I don’t disappear again since I’m currently working an another little thing.
