Just Jack and I
He brought you in, told me to try
To get along with this strange kid
And I was good, so try I did
You're such a brat
Merely a child
Say I'm a beast and that I'm wild
You're brazen and you make me fret
Despite it all, I'm glad we met
I am a wolf
Sharp are my teeth
You know just how to make me seethe
But when you smile at me so bright
I can't stay mad, soft is my bite
With my keen nose
I like to sniff
Of you, I like to get a whiff
You say I’m weird, push me away
Yet your eyes, they ask me to stay
In sunny meadows
We lay to rest
Sometimes you like to be a pest

Old Jack has gone
Right up to heaven, all alone
But you and I stay side by side

That's what we're called
Foolish, brave and very bold
We're both still young, have much to learn
With great ambitions, in us they burn
Minds not in sync
The oath you broke
From just a dream, wish I awoke
Your ‘justice’ only gave me grief
I could not bear, I had to leave
I was your wolf
You were my sun
The time we shared was lots of fun
But it has passed, and way too soon
Time I share now lone with the moon
With time comes change
The years go by
Have lost my legs and my right eye
But those have healed, my only pain
Is thoughts of you that still remain
You are a thief,
Yes, through and through
Even my heart you hold onto
You took it and gave it a crack
Wish I knew how to take it back
Despite the past
We are now foes
And with the years the anger grows
We reunite, fight nail and tooth
But all this hurt, it will not sooth
I see it now
Since our youth
You never told me the whole truth
Behind a mask you hid your fears
Your hatred and all of your tears
But now it’s clear
And I can see
I should have listened to your plea
Asking me not to turn my back
Despite the words I heard from Jack
It had been cruel
The time apart
