She pretends Seven isn’t her type. Too blonde. Too buxom. Too young.  

Too willing to do whatever she’s told. Too headstrong in the way she pushes back just enough for Kathryn to be able to tell herself this isn’t an abuse of her power.

Too sweet when she capitulates and lets Kathryn take what she wants. What’s hers, because she put it in that uniform, or close enough, and made it hers.

Too afraid she isn’t enough. Too eager to do anything to prove her devotion.

Kathryn knows herself too well, really, to be fooled. Seven is exactly her type.
