“Breathe baby, breathe.” Jordan's words rushed out looking at Marie’s hunched over figure fighting for air. “Just let it pass, it'll be over soon. I’m okay and you're okay, we’re fine.”
Marie takes slow deep breaths, finally calming down.
“I could’ve killed you”
“You didn’t”
“But I could’ve, I almost did Jordan, I felt…. everything”
They stare at each other and a minute passes and Marie breaks the silence.
“For a second I looked at you and instead of seeing them on the bathroom floor in a pool of blood, it was you.” Marie sinks to the locker room floor sobbing.
“I’m still here, nothing happened.”
“I don’t like hurting the people I love so why does it keep fucking happening. It's not fair, it's not fair.”
“What can I do?”
“I want to go to bed, I just feel so drained.”
“Okay we can go back to my dorm, shower, eat something and-”
“No Jordan.”
“Okay we can just go straight to sleep, I-”
“No, I mean I want to be alone.”
Jordan can already tell how this is going to play out. They’ll take some time apart and then everything they have will disappear. The thought alone has her heart ripping.
“Marie, don't do this, I'm fine.”
“I’m sorry.”
Marie goes to her dorm, flops down and pulls the covers over her head. Hours later she hears Emma come in, but she goes back to sleep.

Marie’s made it her mission to avoid Jordan but they’ve had enough. It’s been a whole day and they’ve decided enough time has passed. They’re knocking on Marie’s door determined to fix this. She opens the door and Jordan steps in without waiting for a ‘come in’.
“Jordan I think you should-”
Jordan can tell what she’s about to say but they honestly don’t care. “Hello my absolutely gorgeous girlfriend who I haven’t seen for 18 hours.”
“Jordan I think we should-”
“Put this whole thing behind us? I agree.”
“Jordan listen to me please.”
They sit down and Jordan waits for Marie to continue.
“Being put in that position where you- where I could’ve killed you, was fucking terrifying. I think as long as we’re together he’s going to use you and I can’t. I can’t Jordan, I can’t-” she’s sobbing, unable to finish.
“Marie cipher’s not going to stop just because we’re apart, he knows we love each other and us being apart will only make us more vulnerable.” Jordan takes Marie’s face in their hands. “I love you so fucking much and nothing will change that hmm?”
Marie starts sobbing more, she leans forward to hug Jordan and buries her face in their neck.
“...Oh baby, I didn’t say that yesterday did I? I love you and I'll do it forever, no matter what.”
“I love you t-too.”
“I know.”
