Chapter Text
Wonyoung, despite of being a public figure, liked to keep her personal life private, and that included her friends. Being a member of one of the most powerful, rich family, Wonyoung’s friends never treated, nor looked at her differently and the youngest Kim was most grateful for that. She get to be comfortable, and be her normal human being self around them.
That’s why it was important to Wonyoung for her friends to finally meet the person whom she’s been head over heels to and that was An Yujin.
Of course Wonyoung has told them about the Secretary and their previous situationship and her friends were happy when they found out it finally turned into a relationship and has been wanting to meet Yujin.
One morning, at Yujin’s apartment, the couple were doing their usual morning routine every time Wonyoung slept over, when the young model brought up the idea.
“Babe,” Wonyoung started, facing the espresso machine that she just turned on. “Do you think it’s possible?”
Yujin turned momentarily away from the stove where she was currently cooking omelette. “What’s possible?”
“For you to meet my friends.”
“Yeah, why wouldn’t it be?”
Wonyoung slightly turned, “I don’t know, I just didn’t want you to feel like it’s too soon.”
“Too soon?” Yujin raised an eyebrow, sensing the insecurity laced in her girlfriend’s voice. “Of course not,” She approached her and pulled Wonyoung by her waist and the latter automatically wrapped her arms around the older’s nape. “Really?”
Yujin placed a quick peck on Wonyoung’s already smiling lips. “I’d love to meet all the people who are important to you. It makes me feel included.”
Wonyoung returned the kiss, “You’re too sweet, they’ll love you for sure.”
“You’re just being bias because I’m your girlfriend.”
“Maybe, but I know they will because I love you.”
“And you’re calling me sweet?” Yujin chuckled. “I love you more.”
— — —
They set up the date and picked a restaurant that was middle ground for all of them. Yujin and Wonyoung walked in together, fingers briefly brushing before Wonyoung spotted the table where her friends were waving them over.
Gaeul, Leeseo, Jiwon and Chaewon were already seated, eyes looking immediately to Yujin not hiding their curiosity.
“Finally!” Gaeul said, grinning. “So this is the famous Yujin.”
Wonyoung huffed. “Can you not make it sound like I’ve been exaggerating about her?”
Leeseo laughed. “Oh, we’re not doubting you Unnie, we just need to confirm the hype ourselves.”
Yujin smiled easily as she took the seat beside Wonyoung. “I’ll try not to ruin her reputation, then.”
The server arrived and handed them the menus individually and before they could opened them, Chaewon leaned forward. “So, Yujin, can we do this the easy way or the investigative way?”
Yujin chuckled. “I’m guessing there’s no such thing as “No Questions” option?”
That immediately broke the ice.
Leeseo started. “What do you exactly do as Wonyoung-unnie’s sister’s secretary?”
Yujin answered calmly, explaining in simple details as she didn’t want to bore them with logistics. She spoke confidently, never arrogant, the kind of tone that earned respect without asking for it.
Jiwon followed. “And what’s your favorite thing about Wonyoung?” She asked, eyes narrowed like she was testing her.
Wonyoung was momentarily shocked about this question, eyes widening at her friend. “Kim Jiwon! What are you..”
Yujin didn’t even hesitate. “The way she genuinely takes care of the people she loves.” She said, glancing at her girlfriend. “And how she lights up when she talks about the things she’s passionate about.”
Wonyoung tried to hide her blush behind the glass of water.
Gaeul chimed in with the big question. “And how serious are you about our friend here?”
The Secretary locked eyes with her, unbothered. “Serious enough that I plan long-term with her in mind.” She said simply. No dramatics, not overdoing it.
This earned a silent nod from Wonyoung’s friend. Based on their facial expressions, Yujin was unsure how she was doing so far. But instead of letting the attention stay on her, she naturally shifted gears.
“So,” She said, glancing around the table, “how long have you all known Wony?”
Chaewon brightened. “Since high school. She was the dramatic tall girl everyone thought was cold before she started sharing her snacks.”
Jiwon laughed. “University for me. She bossed me into being her friend.”
Leeseo added, “We clicked over drinks and gossip. Haven’t shut up ever since.”
Gaeul grinned. “We met at a studio where she modeled for one of my friend’s magazine. She was already scary-gorgeous back then.”
Yujin listened intently, smiling at each story. She was asking follow up questions, laughing when they joked at her girlfriend’s expense. It was not forced, she genuinely wanted to know and that made them soften almost instantly.
Jiwon pointed a finger at her. “Okay, I get it now. You’re smooth in conversation too? Great. Amazing. Love that for her and unfair for the rest of us.”
Yujin grinned. “I just like knowing the people she cares about.”
Wonyoung melted on the spot.
Throughout lunch, Yujin was effortlessly attentive towards Wonyoung. Cutting her steak when she was busy talking, sliding her water close without being asked, checking if she liked her dish and quietly swapping plates when she noticed Wonyoung preferred hers.
She wasn’t showing off, she was just simply being the same girlfriend she always was.
Wonyoung’s friends noticed. All of them.
Yujin kept up with their jokes, asked about their jobs, listened seriously when Chaewon ranted about a coworker, hyped Jiwon about her upcoming trip and even roasted Leeseo just enough to get instant approval.
It wasn’t long before the tension was gone completely. They were laughing with her liked she had been around for years.
At one point, Yujin excused herself to use the restroom. The moment she left, and the girls making sure she was out of sight, it was chaos.
“Oh my god,” Leeseo whispered but almost yelling, “Why is she that gentle and that hot at the same time?”
Gaeul nodded rapidly. “She looks at you like she’s fully locked in, I’ve never seen someone make eye contact with that much commitment.”
Chaewon pointed at Wonyoung’s untouched drink. “She didn’t even ask, she just slid the straw closer when you kept talking Wonyoung-ah. I almost clapped.”
“And she’s funny.” Jiwon added. “Like actually funny, not trying hard, trying to impress funny.”
“Plus,” Leeseo said, smirking, “she kept touching you like you’re the only person here.”
Wonyoung pretend to sip her water to hide her proud smile. “Told you.”
“And she listened to us talk about ourselves without making it weird. She has…friend energy.” Gaeul said.
“But hot friend energy.” Chaewon corrected.
“She passes,” Jiwon declared. “10 out of 10, with extra credit.”
Wonyoung just grinned smugly.
After hugs and promised of another get together, Yujin opened the car door for Wonyoung and made sure her seatbelt was on before getting in.
As they drove away, Wonyoung finally said it, arms crossed but smiling with satisfaction.
“You passed.”
Yujin gave her a side glance and smirked. “Was I being tested?”
“Oh, absolutely. And they all love you, one hundred percent approved.”
The older chuckled, resting her hand over the younger’s thigh. “Good. I wasn’t trying to impress them, but I’m glad they matter to you.”
“And you know what they liked the most?” Wonyoung added, leaning closer.
“What’s that?”
“The way you take care of me without even thinking about it.”
Yujin just smirked, eyes back on the road. “That’s not for them. That’s just for you.”
And Wonyoung couldn’t stop smiling the whole ride home.
— — —
Wonyoung’s friends started comparing everyone to Yujin and spiral in their group chat after the lunch meet up because how could they not? Yujin was a walking green flag.
Group Chat Name: Wonyoung’s Chaotic Council
Leeseo: Okay, I’ve been thinking about it and I’m kinda mad??
Gaeul: About what
Leeseo: Why is Yujin-unnie literally the standard now. Like how are we supposed to date in peace after THAT
Chaewon: Forreal, why did she have to be that stable, that hot, that respectful, that attentive *insert crying emoji*
Jiwon: My man asked me what I wanted to eat today and I got annoyed because he didn’t pre-remember like Yujin did for Wonyoung.
Gaeul: I told my situationship I was tired and he said “same” WHERE IS MY “Did you eat? Want me to come over? Get some rest, I’ll handle it” ENERGY?
Leeseo: No because the way she swapped plates with Wonyoung-unnie without asking??? Mind reader behavior.
Chaewon: The hand on her back when she stood up?? The chair pulling?? YUJIN PUTTING HER JACKET ON WONNIE’S LAP WHEN THE AC HIT HER??
Gaeul: STOP IT I NOTICED THAT TOO
Jiwon: I hate that she set the bar and I hate that no we can’t go back to our clown behavior.
Leeseo: My ex asked me “Are you still mad?” when I didn’t text back for 3 hours. If that was
Yujin-unnie, she’d just send food and a soft apology playlist
Chaewon: Wonnie really won the romantic lottery
Gaeul: Okay, but do we…like…love her??? Because I think I kinda love her.
Leeseo: I do but like in a respectful “she’s my best friend’s wife” kind of way.
Chaewon: Same. I’m still gonna bully her but respectfully
Jiwon: Anyways, if they ever break up, we’re keeping Yujin.
Wonyoung: EXCUSE ME??????
Leeseo: Oh look, she’s here
Gaeul: Tell Yujin we said “Hi Wife!”
Wonyoung: I hate all of you
Jiwon: Tell her we’re free this weekend if she wants to pick US up too
Chaewon: Girl, we’re not even joking.
Gaeul: Goodnight Mrs. An Wonyoung
Wonyoung: I’m blocking this chat
Leeseo: Tell Yujin-unnie to unblock us after thanks. *insert kissy face emoji*
Wonyoung was lying in bed scrolling through her phone when she burst into laughter out of nowhere. Yujin, fresh out of the shower and drying her hair, looked over suspiciously.
“What are you laughing at? Is it the tiktok video about the babies with filters I sent you?” She asked, tossing the towel aside and climbing into bed beside her.
Wonyoung shook her head. “No, it’s just, my friends are unbelievable.”
Yujin raised an eyebrow. “That’s not new.”
She turned the screen so Yujin could read the group chat. Slowly. Silently, Yujin’s expression shifted from confused, to amused, to smug.
When she reached the part where they said “if they ever break up we’re keeping Yujin”, she actually laughed out loud.
“And when exactly did I become the shared custody dream?” Yujin asked.
Wonyoung shoved her lightly. “Don’t get a big head about it.”
“Oh, I’m not,” Yujin said, grinning. “I’m just glad they have taste.”
The younger rolled her eyes. “Gaeul called me Mrs. An Wonyoung.”
Yujin didn’t even blink. “Well. She’s not wrong.”
Wonyoung choked. “EXCUSE ME?!”
Yujin shrugged, entirely too calm. “I’m just saying, they’re adjusting early. How efficient of them.”
Wonyoung stared at her like she was unreal and Yujin just looked pleased with herself. She lay back against the pillow and gave her girlfriend a sly look.
“So… do I need to watch myself now?” She asked casually.
Wonyoung narrowed her eyes. “Watch yourself from what?”
“Your friends trying to steal me.”
“No one is stealing anything.” She scoffed immediately.
“Oh?” Yujin pressed, enjoying every second. “Because Leeseo said your name but was talking about me. And I distinctly saw Gaeul planning a custody battle.”
“You’re not funny.”
“I wasn’t joking.” Yujin rested her chin on her hand. “Should I start rejecting brunch invitations in advance? Or is it too late and I’ve already been claimed by the council?”
Wonyoung glared, but the kind of glare that came from a mix of annoyance and pride. “They may love you, but let me make one thing clear…”
She moved closer, slow and smug. “You’re mine. They can look, but that’s it.”
“Look? I think they’re planning a group heist.”
“Let them try,” Wonyoung said, grabbing her girlfriend’s jaw and making her look at her. “You won’t even glance at anyone else to begin with.”
Yujin smirked. “True. You’re the only one I see anyway.”
“And don’t forget it.”
“Never.” Yujin said softly, kissing the corner of her lips. “But if they beg, I might offer them a signed photo.”
The latter hit her with a pillow. “I hate you.”
“No, you don’t.” She pulled her in, “You just don’t like sharing.”
“I don’t share.”
“I know, that’s why I’m yours. Permanently.” Yujin finished, smugly and satisfied as she kissed her fully this time.
Wonyoung didn’t admit how much that made her melt, but she didn’t argue either.
— — —
Their group chat has not been quite active for the past few days. It has been a week and Wonyoung’s friends keep “competing” for Yujin’s attention and Yujin, being the little menace that she was, lowkey fuels it just to tease her girlfriend.
Gaeul: Is it too early to invite Yujin to brunch again or is that weird
Jiwon: Girl we just met her, let her breathe.
Leeseo: idc, I want to see how she orders for Unnie again.
Chaewon: Also, did you see how she remembered everyone’s name instantly? like who does that
Gaeul: I swear she made eye contact once and my soul left my body
Wonyoung: HELLO??????
Leeseo: Oh hi bestie, we’re just discussing your wife.
Wonyoung: SHE’S MINE. MY GIRLFRIEND. AND NO SHE’S NOT GOING TO BRUNCH WITH YOU WITHOUT ME
Gaeul: Okay but what if she just pick us up? She drives so nice.
Chaewon: Like a chauffeur but hotter
Wonyoung: I’m blocking all of you
Jiwon: Please tell Yujin we love her
Wonyoung: NO
Later that night, Yujin was sprawled on the couch, scrolling through her own phone when Wonyoung stormed out of the bedroom.
“They’re at it again.” Wonyoung grumbled, tossing her phone to her girlfriend.
The latter caught it, read the thread and chuckled softly. “Wow, they’re relentless.”
“They’re annoying.”
“Or maybe they just like me.”
“Don’t get smug.” Wonyoung warned.
Yujin sat up and patted the spot next to her. “Come here.”
When Wonyoung reluctantly sat down, Yujin pulled her closer until she was practically sitting on her lap. “Maybe I should play along a little.” She teased.
“Play along?”
“Like, next time they gush about me, I’ll send them a hear emoji.”
“Yujin…”
“Or sign their napkins. ‘To Wonyoung’s council, thanks for the approval.’”
She got a glare in return and she noticed the girl’s ears were turning pink.
“Relax, Baby.” Yujin murmured, nose brushing against her temple. “I’d never actually do it. I just love how jealous you get.”
“I’m not jealous.” Wonyoung snapped.
“Of course not. That’s why you’re practically vibrating.”
Wonyoung shoved her shoulder but Yujin caugt her hand and kissed her knuckles.
“Let them flirt. Let them ‘compete’. You’re the only one I’m going home with, the only one I’m in love with, the only one I even see.” She whispered.
The younger’s glare soften instantly. “…you’re annoying.”
“I know, but you love me anyway.”
“Unfortunately” She didn’t mean it.
“Mm, fortunate for me.” Yujin teased, then added quietly. “Want me to send them a selfie of us cuddling right now? That’ll end the competition.”
Wonyoung rolled her eyes but didn’t move from Yujin’s lap. “…do it.”
Yujin chuckled, snapped a cute picture of them snuggled together and sent it to the group chat with the caption: “Home. Claimed. *insert red heart emoji*”
The chat exploded instantly.
Gaeul: Help she’s perfect.
Leeseo: Wonyoung-unnie wins again
Chaewon: Okay fine, we’re done, for now.
Wonyoung read it, smirked and finally relaxed against Yujin’s shoulder.
“Better?” Yujin murmured.
“Much.” She admitted.
Yujin kissed her hair. “Good. Let them compete all they want. I already belong to you.”

Chapter Text
The group chat bullied Wonyoung for days before she finally caved in. This was her doing anyway, she was the one who insisted on introducing her friends to her lover. She wasn’t seriously upset about their behavior and the sudden “love at first sight” towards her girlfriend because even she herself felt the same way towards Yujin, it just took a bit of time for her to actually start acting on said feelings as Yujin was her sister’s Winter’s friend and Secretary. It shouldn’t been easier because of the connection but she wasn’t as sure about dating her sister’s friends because with that comes complications if things didn’t end up well between them and she thanked God everyday that she wouldn’t have to find out because Yujin was perfect and their relationship has been nothing but amazing. HER Yujin has been nothing but amazing.
Gaeul: We’re free Saturday. Yujin too, don’t lie
Leeseo: Tell her we’ll feed her
Chaewon: and praise her
Jiwon: and secretly try to steal her…probably
Wonyoung: Fine. 1pm, don’t embarrass me
Gaeul: lol no promises
That Saturday, the business model had an early morning meeting, hence why she couldn’t sleep over at her girlfriend's place like usual on Friday nights. Yujin picked Wonyoung up from her office and drove them to the meeting place, a cute little cafe. She was in a cream shirt with sleeves rolled over to her elbows, one hand on the wheel, sunglasses resting low on her nose, completely unaware of her menace aura.
Wonyoung caught herself staring.
Yujin glanced over. “You’re going to burn holes into my face.”
“Tell my eyes to behave, Babe.”
Yujin smirked and reached over, resting her palm on her girlfriend’s thigh. “They can do whatever. You’re the only one who gets this view anyway.”
Wonyoung’s ears went warm. “They’re going to drool over you again.”
“I know, I packed a bib for them.” She said casually.
The younger just rolled her yes playfully because her friends may actually need it.
At the cafe…
They walked into their meeting place and the whole table perked up like a bunch of Timons from the movie Lion King.
“Secretary An!” Gaeul said dramatically, standing to salute.
“Don’t salute my girlfriend.” Wonyoung deadpanned.
“She deserves it,” Jiwon whispered.
Yujin greeted them all with a smile, pulled Wonyoung’s chair out for her, and only sat after helping her sit. Her hand lingered at the small of Wonyoung’s back as she did.
Leeseo side whispered to Chaewon, “See? See? This is what I’m talking about.”
Chaewon mouthed, “I’m actually mad she’s real.”
When the server came to orders, Wonyoung blinked at the menu, not having decided yet.
Yujin glanced one, “She’ll have the spinach omelette with feta, no peppers, extra mushrooms. And the iced matcha latte.”
Wonyoung froze. “…Yes, please.”
Leeseo leaned forward. “You remembered that?”
Yujin shrugged. “She picks the peppers out every time and complains.”
“I do not complain."
“You sigh aggressively.”
The girls laughed. Yujin topped off Wonyoung’s water without thinking.
Gaeul put her chin in her hand. “I finally get why you’re unhinged about her.”
Wonyoung glared. “Shut up.”
Instead of staying quiet, Yujin asked them questions again. “So how long have you all been friends with Wony?”
That opened the floodgates, they loved the attention.
Chaewon told a story about Wonyoung stealing her lipstick in high school.
Leeseo exposed her for pretending she didn’t know how to carry grocery bags so someone else would. “I mean, I get it. Her family has people to get groceries for them.” She added jokingly.
Jiwon said Wonyoung once made her return jeans because she looked “aunt-coded” on them. “You’re 20, Jiwon-ah, not 50, my God.” She continued in her Wonyoung voice.
Yujin was living.
When they roasted Wonyoung too hard, Yujin brushed her knee under the table as if to say I got you.
But Wonyoung surprised herself, she liked them bragging to her girlfriend because Yujin looked absolutely entertained.
“You survived her diva phase, you’re all soldiers.” Yujin laughed.
“I STILL live in it.” Gaeul muttered.
Wonyoung threw a breadstick at her.
Jiwon grinned. “Okay, last time we didn’t get to interrogate you properly.”
“Oh God.” Wonyoung groaned.
Gaeul ignored her. “What’s it feel like to be THE Kim Wonyoung’s girlfriend?”
Yujin didn’t even pause. “She makes me feel like I’m always exactly where I’m supposed to be.”
The whole table malfunctioned.
Leeseo slapped the table. “HELLO????”
Chaewon looked personally attacked. “Why is that the smoothest answer I’ve ever heard?”
Wonyoung stared at her plate to hide her smile. She was secretly bragging.
Gaeul tried again. “Serious level: how in are you?”
The Secretary glanced at her girlfriend first, then calmly answered. “There’s no version of the future where she isn’t in it.”
The table went silent.
Leeseo fanned herself with a napkin. “I need a moment actually.”
Yujin’s phone vibrated and she checked to see who the call was from. Wonyoung glanced quickly and saw her sister’s Winter’s name on the screen before Yujin hit the ignored button and looked away from the device, not wanting to be rude.
“Hey, it’s okay, you can answer. It’s Win, she might need something important.” She whispered.
“Are you sure? I don’t wanna be ru..”
Wonyoung caressed her cheek nodding to assure her, this cute moment earned looks from the girls, curiously.
“Okay.” She pecked her girlfriend’s hand. She turned and apologized, excusing herself from Wonyoung’s friends, with a promise she won’t take long. And when she was out of earshot,
“Oh my GOD.” Leeseo whispered-scream, once again.
“Protect her at all costs.” Chaewon said.
Gaeul pointed a fork at her, “If you mess this up…”
“Why would I mess this up? She’s in love with me.” Wonyoung said smugly.
“And we’re in love with HER.” Jiwon stressed.
“She’s not dating you.” She shot back.
Gaeul ignored that. “She’s literally wife-coded.”
Chaewon nodded. “Also, she smells good.” This earned a “What the hell?” look towards her from Wonyoung.
“And her voice? Why is it so warm??” Jiwon added.
Leeseo stared dramatically at the ceiling. “If I ever get arrested, it’ll be because I tried to steal your woman.”
“You’d be in hospital before that happens.” Wonyoung jokingly said.
— — —
The second Wonyoung’s friends and the couple parted ways, their group chat lit up like sirens.
Leeseo: I get it now. I fully get it
Gaeul: I don’t just get it. I SUPPORT it. I SHIP it. I’m INVESTED
Chaewon: Petition to have Yujin attend every outing from now on
Jiwon: Weekly brunches, monthly dinners, National Yujin Appreciation Day
Gaeul: Can we invite her to movie night?
Chaewon: Shut up, yes!
Leeseo: With blankets, and wine and her voice
Jiwon: Someone secure her before the world steals her
Wonyoung: Delete this whole chat now.
Gaeul: Tell Yujin I love her
Leeseo: Too late, I’m DM’ing her
Wonyoung: I SWEAR TO GOD
While all of this group chat chaos was happening, Wonyoung was in Yujin’s car, scrolling, jaw tense.
Yujin glanced over at a stoplight. “You look like you’re about to commit a crime.”
“My friends are obsessed with you.”
She hummed, amused. “Understandable.”
“They’re planning events just to see you again.”
“Smart of them.”
“They said they’re inviting you to movie night.”
Yujin grinned. “I like movies.”
“…and wine.”
“Classy”
“AND they’re talking about DM-ing you!”
At that, Yujin laughed. “Should I be flattered or afraid?”
“Neither. You should be unavailable.” Wonyoung muttered.
Yujin didn’t stop the grin. “You sound jealous.”
“I’m not jealous.”
“Mhm.”
“I’m just…territorial.”
Just like muscle memory and favorite thing to do while driving, Yujin placed one hand on the wheel and the other casually on Wonyoung’s thigh. “You know they were eyeing me like they wanted visitation rights.”
Wonyoung glared at the window.
“And they kept staring at my arms.” She added, clearly enjoying herself.
“They can look somewhere else.”
“But I wasn’t even doing anything. Just helping you with your chair, ordering food for you. wiping that smudge off your lip…”
“That was MY lip.”
“I know, but they looked personally moved.” Yujin smirked.
“Shut up.”
“You’re cute when you’re mad.”
“I’m not mad.”
“Possessive then.”
“…maybe.”
“Good.” She said, squeezing her thigh gently. “Because I’m very taken and I don’t share.”
That got Wonyoung to finally look at her.
“And if they love me so much, they can schedule visits through you.” She added smugly.
“You think you’re so funny.”
Yujin leaned over at a red light and kissed her, softly but with assurance. “No, I think I’m yours.”
— — —
Later that night, it was Yujin’s turn to sleep over at Wonyoung’s place. They were laying in bed when Wonyoung’s phone buzzed again.
Group Chat
Leeseo: Tell Yujin we found a restaurant with her favorite dessert
Wonyoung: She is not your crush, she is MY girlfriend
Gaeul: Girl, no one is trying to steal her, bold of you to assume we’d succeed.
Jiwon: Just…loan her out sometime
Chaewon: Shared custody energy
Wonyoung: BLOCKED
From across the bed, Yujin’s phone buzzed too.
She checked it, snorted and turned the screen toward Wonyoung.
A DM from Gaeul:
“Just so you know, if you ever get tired of Wonnie, I cook AND I have health insurance.”
Wonyoung nearly lunged across the bed. “BLOCK HER!”
Yujin just grinned, locked her phone and tugged Wonyoung down to lie on her chest.
“You’re enjoying this way too much.”
“I am.” Yujin muttered.
“Why?”
“Because,” She said, brushing a thumb along the curve of Wonyoung’s jaw, “It’s fun watching you defend what’s already yours, Baby.”
The younger huffed. “They’re shameless.”
“You’re worse.” She teased. “You glared at Gaeul every time she laughed at my jokes.
“She laughs too hard.”
“And you scooted closer every time Leeseo complimented me.”
“She compliments too much.”
“And you held my hand under the table when Chaewon stared at me too long.”
“She stares too much.”
Yujin grinned. “So cute.”
“I hate you.”
“No you don’t.”
Silence, then quietly… “No, I don’t.”
Yujin kissed her forehead. “I love you. I’m not going anywhere even if your friends form a cult.”
“They lowkey already did.”
“And I’ll attend every meeting, as long as you’re sitting next to me.”
— — —
The said movie night happened even when Wonyoung was against it. And just like every meeting with her friends and Yujin being around, it was nothing but chaos, chaos and chaos. The girls were trying, and failing) to divide Yujin’s attention and the Secretary being “polite” but very much Wonyoung’s. And Wonyoung couldn’t count how many times she rolled her eyes, glared and hovered like a well-dressed bouncer.
Gaeul hosted.
Leeseo brought snacks.
Jiwon brought wine.
Chaewon claimed the beanbag.
Wonyoung brought Yujin (technically a snack as her friends all labeled her girlfriend) and when they arrived, it immediately ruined everyone’s self-control.
Yujin walked in carrying two bags: one with wine and one with desserts. Her other hand intertwined with Wonyoung.
Leeseo blinked. “She brought gifts. I’m going to scream.”
“Please don’t.” Wonyoung said flatly, already sensing the threat level.
Gaeul practically snatched the dessert bag. “What did you bring?”
“Matcha tiramisu and strawberry cheesecake.” Both Wonyoung’s favorites.
“Marry me.” Leeseo said.
Yujin smiled. “I’m very much taken, sorry.”
Wonyoung smirked so hard her ancestors felt it.
They set up the living room: huge TV, blankets everywhere, fairy lights, throw pillows, and one Yujin magnet disguised as Wonyoung.
The SECOND Yujin went to sit, Leeseo tried to slide in next to her.
Chaewon angled for the other side.
Gaeul hovered with a pillow, ready to launch.
Wonyoung didn’t speak, she simply sat FIRST and patted the spot beside her and Yujin sat down obediently.
Leeseo muttered to Gaeul. “I should’ve tripped her.”
She whispered back, “Honestly, yeah.”
Chaewon sighed dramatically and dragged the beanbag closed to Yujin’s feet and the latter pretended not to notice the worshipping energy.
Halfway through the first movie, some rom-com no one was actually watching, Gaeul offered Yujin popcorn.
Yujin reached but Wonyoung grabbed the bowl instead.
“She’s cutting carbs.” She said.
Yujin blinked. “No, I’m not..”
“Yes, you are.” Wonyoung replied sweetly, popping one in her girlfriend’s mouth herself.
Leeseo stared. “I feel single.”
Chaewon scoffed. “I feel abandoned.”
Gaeul whisper-cried. “I feel bisexual.”
Jiwon sipped her wine. “I feel hungry.”
Sometime during the second movie, Yujin leaned back against the sofa, stretching one arm along the backrest.
Leeseo watched the movement like a hawk circling prey.
Before she could even angle closer, Wonyoung tucked herself into Yujin’s side and pulled her girlfriend’s arm down around her waist. Yujin settled into it naturally, warm hand resting on Wonyoung’s thigh.
Chaewon looked personally victimized.
Gaeul bit into her macaron like it wronged her.
Jiwon whispered. “I’m going to find my soulmate tonight or die trying.”
Leeseo wrapped herself in a blanket burrito to cope.
Halfway through the third movie, Wonyoung stood up to grab more water.
Leeseo’s head snapped up. “You need help?”
“No?”
Too late, she was already walking in the kitchen with Wonyoung.
Yujin stayed on the sofa, checking her phone.
Cue the trio.
Gaeul, whispering,: “Scoot closer.”
Chaewon: “You do it!”
Jiwon: “No, YOU do it!”
Leeseo peeked from the kitchen entrance: “Guys, abort, she’s coming back!”
Everyone snapped to fake casual poses like they were posing for a Renaissance painting. Wonyoung returned and reclaimed her spot like nothing happened.
Yujin blinked once at the group. She knew. She just didn’t care.
As they left, the door barely shut before Yujin said, “You’re friends are exhausting.”
“They’re obsessed with you.” Wonyoung muttered, crossing her arms.
“Someone’s bothered.” She smirked.
“I’m not bothered.”
“You almost growled when Chaewon sat on the floor near my leg.”
“She was too close.”
“And when Leeseo offered to refill my drink?”
“She used a weird tone.”
“And when Gaeul complimented my shirt?”
“She winked.”
Yujin laughed, leaning over in the car to kiss her cheek slowly, deliberately. “You’re cute when you’re territorial.”
“I’m not territorial.”
“Mmm, then you won’t mind if I go to brunch with them. Alone.”
Wonyoung turned her head with the slowest death glare. Yujin bit back a smile, “I’m kidding, Babe.”
Silence, then she spoke again. “But if we’re going again…you’re sitting on my lap next time to make it obvious.”
Wonyoung scoffed. “Good, they need to learn hierarchy.”
Yujin started the car, amused. “Yes, your majesty.”
—End—
Notes:
Part 2 because why not? Wony's friends are still relentless. But don't worry, they're harmless lol.
