Work Text:
“Dazai, you know why I asked you to stay?” Odasaku asks once the classroom has emptied of students, leaving only Dazai standing before him.
“Because Kunikida-kun caught me not paying attention!” Dazai answers easily, sticking his tongue out. Of course, it had been obvious that Odasaku already knew Dazai wasn’t paying attention, but it wasn’t until Kunikida loudly pointed it out that Oda had been forced to confiscate Dazai’s drawing and ask him to stay behind.
Oda nods, then gives Dazai the drawing back. It’s… a cute sketch of the two of them holding hands—or at least, that’s what it’s supposed to be. The lines are shaky, the faces uneven, and the proportions all wrong. It looks half-finished.
“Oh, it looks bad now,” Dazai mumbles.
When he’d been drawing it, it had seemed like the best piece of art ever made.
“Hm? It looks good. Though you forgot to draw my stubble,” Odasaku says.
Dazai sticks out his tongue again, this time in mock disgust. “I don’t like it. This drawing is… from the future, after I’ve made you shave that ugly stubble!”
Odasaku blinks slowly. “Is that so? I think it wouldn’t look ugly if I just let it grow out.”
Dazai crosses his arms. “I still don’t like it. It’s itchy when we kiss.”
“Ah, I see.” Oda hums softly, nodding like he’s decided something right then. “Then I’ll be sure to shave.”
Dazai brightens up, leaning over to give Oda a quick, playful peck on the lips. “You’ll get a better kiss after you shave! Bye, Odasaku. I’m gonna be late for the next class!”
Oda watches him go, a quiet smile lingering on his face.
