Work Text:
Est knows he should have stopped when he still had the chance. He should have stopped William from drinking to avoid getting to this point. But William looked so relaxed, like Est rarely saw him. With that goofy smile tugging at his lips, it was impossible for he to say "no."
In reality, he could never say no to William.
This brings us to the this moment, with Est helping a dizzy William walk properly, too bad William is more focused on humming a meaningless tune.
Est sighed deeply, the cold night air helping clear his mind. He should have been annoyed or irritated or whatever, but a chuckle inevitably escaped his lips when he noticed William's flushed cheeks. He looked like a tomato, he was adorable.
William stopped abruptly, making them stumble. Est's hands moved erratically to the opposite waist to keep him upright. He felt William's gaze on him.
"Did I tell you you're very beautiful, phi?" —he whispered, his warm breath hitting him very close to his face. Est could smell the scent of the strawberry vodka he'd drunk.
He shook his head, forcing himself to frown before speaking.
"Shh, don't start. Just walk," —he snapped before leading him again. Just a few more steps.
The glow of the shining stars filtered through the windshield, the night seemed to envelop everything around them, but there, in that car, only the two of them existed.
Est carefully settled William into the passenger seat. He let out a breath when they were both seated, intending to take a moment to recover before starting the car.
He saw his player's screen light up, indicating it had connected to the cell phone's bluetooth. But as always, it didn't connect to his own, but to William's, who also noticed. Soon the soft rhythm of a song enveloped them.
"Hey..." —Est called out to get his attention.— "The party's over for you."
William looked at him with those puppy dog eyes he always made when he wanted to get his way.
"Ou phi~ don't be so boring". —he complained with a small pout that wasn't like him.
Because William got clingy when he was drunk, loving to be showered with Est's attention. All hugs and smiles. Est wasn't any better, but we're not talking about him.
William started singing as soon as he recognized the lyrics and coordinated his brain with his mouth. Est was always amazed to hear him, it was always a pleasure to hear William sing. He discreetly took out his phone to record it. It would be another nice memory for his folder named "William" with two red heart emojis.
William continued singing a couple more songs, some more serious and others just for fun. Est sang along from time to time, unable to avoid being caught up in the other's chaotic energy.
"Oh phi, I love this song!" —He rummaged through the seats, trying to find something among Est's things. A bottle of perfume was chosen to simulate a microphone.
Est laughed, leaning further back in his seat to enjoy his mini-concert. He closed his eyes, letting himself be carried away by William's voice, until he felt a tug on his shirt.
He opened his eyes suddenly, and the image before him unsettled him.
Breathe.
He had to remind himself, because his breath caught in his throat as soon as he looked up so close at William —so close he could memorize every detail of his face— he looked away nervously. Suddenly, the space in that car felt too small for the two of them, and Est wasn't sure he had enough self-control.
Breathe.
William had pulled him toward him with measured force. His hand stopped at the back of his neck as he sang in Est's ear, using his makeshift microphone as support. It just felt right.
He liked the song, and he liked Est. He didn't have to overthink it or make a big deal out of it.
He pulled away to smile at him when the last note ended, but his eyes followed the movement of Est's throat as he swallowed. He returned his gaze to their opposite eyes, those dark eyes that seemed to reveal nothing at first glance but that William had managed to decipher over time.
Neither of them said anything. The music stopped playing. William smiled again.
"You really are beautiful"
Est snorted, placing his hand on William's chest to pull away, the heat was beginning to suffocate him. William didn't let him, trailing his fingers a couple of inches until they brushed the edge of Est's hair. He held it there, close to him.
Est swallowed, almost unconsciously. William didn't miss it.
"I really want to kiss you".
And the heat Est was beginning to feel spread to his cheeks.
"You're drunk. Stop talking nonsense".
"Mmm... Maybe I am" —he murmured, leaning closer if that was possible.— "but I swear, phi, I want to kiss you sober too, I always want to kiss you."
The nervousness turned into something warm that surged through his chest, it was always like that when he was with William. William looked at him in that way that made him feel so special, made him feel like he was the only one for William. Just like he's looking at him now. And Est knew, he knew that William wasn't lying.
"I'm not going to kiss you like this".
"I'm perfectly fine".
"No, you're not". —He tried to pull away again, failing miserably. William made sure to keep him there.
"William".
"P'Est... I'm fine, believe me, I know what I'm doing".
"I don't want you to regret this tomorrow".
William smiled at him, gently stroking his neck.
"The only thing I regret is not doing it before".
The next thing felt like a camera flash. A second. With a slowness that contrasted with his racing heart, William approached almost reverently, until their faces were inches apart. His breathing deepened, and in that moment, the world disappears. Their foreheads touched first, a kind of electricity running through Est from head to toe when William let out a soft sigh against his mouth.
Their gazes met, and any intention of Est trying to distance himself vanished the second he felt William's lips on his. But can you blame him? He was only human.
Their lips touched in a subtle caress, but soon that touch intensified transforming into a more intense kiss. Their mouths sought each other as if they had been waiting for it for a long time. With need. With desire.
William's hand clutched at the older man's hair, manipulating the direction of his movements at will. A filthy sound escaped Est when William left a lick on his lower lip.
"Ugh... William".
"Breathe, phi" —he murmured through gritted teeth, placing a kiss on his collarbone— "I want your attention on me".
Est wondered which of them was truly drunk.
Because William had just ruined what little sanity he had left with that simple sentence.
Just when he thought he was about to completely lose his mind, he stopped feeling the caresses on his neck.
Only silence.
"William?" —he got no response but a heavy sigh. It took him a few minutes to realize he'd fallen asleep.
Est wanted to laugh at the absurdity of the situation, unable to fully believe what had just happened. If William didn't remember anything the next day, he was going to personally refresh his memory.
"You... You're definitely amazing". —he attacked, his voice still strained from the previous activity. He put William back in his seat, paying special attention to fastening his seatbelt. He seemed to be sleeping peacefully, with a soft smile like someone having a good dream.
Est leaned back against the steering wheel, smiling despite everything. William drove him crazy (in many ways).
