Stupid death or never look a hot chick in the mouth

Summary:

Prompt Death.

Owen Voncid is often amazed at human intelligence and insight, however this is not one of those times at all.

Work Text:

The body of Trevor Norman wouldn’t have been interesting to the Order. Trevor Norman’s bloated corpse was discovered in his older model Honda Civic when it was fished from a local lake. If the medical examiner wasn’t a member of the order and hadn’t found the tell tale discreet bite marks on his neck, his death might have just looked like an accidental drowning.

“Vampires again,” Luca sighed. “It’s obvious do we really need to do a reclaiming on him?”

Voncid frowned: “Yes, of course to give the man justice, Luca. To find out what the vampire looked like and to stop them before they kill again.”

“And to stop him if he rises from the dead?” Luca asked.

“That is entirely dependent on the type of Vampire, my dear boy,” Voncid replied. “But yes I suppose.”

They did the reclaiming in the morgue. Trevor, dead on the table, sat up and touched his neck, like it hurt.

“Please state your name,” Voncid said calmly.

“Trevor Norman,” said the reawakened corpse. “Wha… what’s going on, I thought I was dead…?”

“You are,” Voncid said. “We have brought you back to discover what killed you and bring them to justice.”

“Well, she wasn’t lying, she was a vampire,” Trevor said. “And please don’t look for her, I’m a dummy. I blew my chance with her.”

“Why do you say that?” Voncid said.

“Well, I goaded her into this,” Trevor said. “I didn’t believe her when she said she was a vampire. I told her to prove it, stuck my neck out literally.”

Luca covered his mouth, he was trying not to laugh.

“So you blame yourself for this?” Voncid asked.

“Yeah, here I am a loser hooking up with this smokin’ hot chick and she keeps telling me she’s a vampire. I’m like ‘suuuure you are babe…’ I thought it was kink or just some kind of delusion ya know. I mean I’d never seen her eat or drink anything but I had to push it.” Trevor sighed.

“You told her to feed on you?” Voncid sighed.

“…Yeah. I didn’t think she would. I guess I wasn’t special.” He said.

“Can you tell us her name at least?” Voncid asked.

“Irina I didn’t know her last name,” Trevor sighed.

“You were dating her and you never thought to ask her last name?” Voncid asked.

“No…. as I said she was hot, blonde, perfect figure and just way out of my league.” Trevor said. “Do you think I’m gonna become a vampire….?”

“No, you were dead for a week in your car at the bottom of a local lake.” Voncid said.

“Right… can I go back to sleep or death?” Trevor asked.

“Do you have any other information that would help us?” Voncid asked.

“….mmmm No,” Trevor sighed. “Sorry.”

“Good bye Trevor, safe journeys as you travel far.” Voncid said.

Trevor’s body slumped back on the slab.

“So he asked her to prove she was a vampire?” Luca said. “Who does that?”

“It happens more often than you’d think. Apparently our subject was too overawed and lustful to get any pertinent information about his killer.” Voncid said, shaking his head. “We will have to conduct an online search for this Irina if that is even her name.”
