Things with Harvey were fine, stable, slow. Farmer didn’t mind that, considering how anxious Harvey could get sometimes. It was only until their third date, that he dared to grab her hand and hug her, which felt amazing.
Farmer waited for him at the beach. It was one of those nights where the sky was clear enough to count the stars, and the moon shone enough, so they didn’t need another source of light.
“Sorry! Sam injured himself on his skateboard and—” Harvey was out of breath by the time he got to the farmer.
She surrounded him with her arms, and smiled at him.
Funny things worked sometimes. As Harvey looked at his date, he knew. He felt his heartbeat raising, and he couldn’t take his eyes out of her lips. She had never looked so beautiful before.
“Can I kiss you?” Harvey felt his face getting all red, but it couldn’t be helped.
Despite how unexpected that request was, Farmer didn’t hesitate.
Magic. Fireworks. The moment their lips touched, the world stopped. Harvey wondered for a second how he could have lived all this time without that kiss. It was the first one, of many more to come.
