Work Text:
The Farmer exits their house and follows the screams for help to find their husband Gustavo stuck in one of his own traps. He dangles from a tall maple tree, rope wrapped around one of his legs so he is hanging upside down. They put their hands on their hips.
“How did this one go wrong?” They say
“The activation method is…well it needs some work to say the least.” His voice strains
“Uh huh. Do you need help getting down?”
“I can get myself down… dear.” He says the last word with contempt
The Farmer gives him a minute or so of struggling to lift his body up so his arm can reach his leg, his skinny rodent body lacking the core strength. They tap their foot impatiently as they watch his struggle just makes him spin around. He finally gives up, and the spinning eventually slows to a stop with him facing The Farmer.
“Are you done?” They ask
“I…” He sighs “Yes. Please help.”
“Please help…dear.”
He makes an exasperated sound “Please help me…dear.”
“Of course.”
The Farmer gently holds his face and kisses him. Gustavo closes his eyes and a blush fills his cheeks as The Farmer does so. He slowly opens his eyes, for a moment all tricks and facades fade away in each other’s eyes. Then Gustavo looks away, crossing his arms as the blush stubbornly remains on his face.
“Now can you let me down.”
“You know if you want a kiss you can just ask right?” The Farmer teases
“Just let me down.” He rolls his eyes
“Of course.” The Farmer says with a smile
