Work Text:
Mizi has always been a pushover. Since she was young, she would always do other kids' chores, take the blame for things she didn't do, and was known as the person that would always vouch for you since they're too nice to say no. She would like to say that this has changed over the years, but truthfully, it has not. This is why she was currently holed up in her room completing other kids homework, even though her own was steadily piling up into an infinite mountain of pain and suffering. Ever since she met Sua, Sua had always been on her case about helping the wrong people for the wrong reasons, and trying to get her to stop offering her assistance to random strangers. Oh Sua, Mizi thought wistfully. I'm trying, I really am. It wasn't her fault that by now helping others was a second instinct for her, and by the time she realised what she had offered to do, they had already sped away, leaving her doomed with their unwanted problems.
Mizi sighed, burying her face in the stack of pages in front of her. They flew off her desk like butterflies drifting to floor, freer than Mizi was by a mile. Ah, Mizi thought, how long has it been since the sunlight touched her face? Hours? Years? The time she had spent completing work sheets that she shouldn't even have had to worry about in the first place was blurring together. Her silky pink fading to blue hair draped on every surface in reach, binding her to her furniture like shackles made of spider webs. Oh, wait- Mizi thought, her eyes widening with realisation, standing up from her uncomfortably stiff chair. I have windows! She smiled for the first time it what felt like years. But as she made her way to open the blinds and flood her room with that heavenly glow that was calling from the outside, she heard a chilling knock on the door. Not really a knock. A bang, almost as if someone was punching it. "MIZI! WHERE'S MY FUCKING SCIENCE HOMEWORK?!"
ah shit. Mizi opened the door, instinctively flinching at the sight of her class bully, Hudson. "oh....Hudson!" Mizi stammered with a nervous laugh. "Soooo...here's the thing. I had to do Max's math project before yours because his is due first period today...and I've already done all of the questions on your science prac, so I was wondering if...you could do the reflection youself?" Hudson's face contorted in fury. Yeah, I'm fucked. Sua, go on without me my love, I will always- "DO IT MYSELF?! WHO DO YOU THINK I AM?" Hudson roared. Mizi could practically picture his tiny little brain scrunching up and doing backflips as it tried to comprehend the simple yet complex idea of him doing his own work. "YOU'RE GONNA REGRET EVEN SUGGESTING THAT TO ME!" said Hudson, grinning evilly. Mizi prepared herself to be flung through every wall in the school as Hudson clenched his fists in ball that was possibly smoother than his brain. Suddenly, an angelic voice sang it's way through the hallways without actually singing. In fact, it only sang one word. An incredibly simple one.
"Mizi?" The voice of Sua was one that made Mizi elated every time she heard it regardless of the situation, but at this moment she was especially glad to hear the her overprotective girlfriend's speech. Sua peeked around the corner of the doorway, her incredibly dark green hair crowning her gentle yet inquisitive expression. Her violet eyes were like pools of icy lavender, seeing through every complex situation and seeking out the best compromise. And right now, Mizi knew all Sua could see was her girlfriend getting verbally abused by the class bully. And her lavender eyes darkened. Mizi knew Sua had definitely looked at the situation and considered her options. But to Sua, there was only one option in this situation.
Sua stormed up to Hudson and stood in between them, shoving the boy's chest, hard, causing him to stumble back. "What's your problem, wierdo?" Hudson growled. Sua slapped him in the face, the sound ringing through the air as Mizi backed away slowly. "No, what's YOUR problem, dumbass? You lumber into my girlfriend's room and THREATEN her?" Sua snapped. She drew her fist back, clearly preparing to throw a powerful punch, when Mizi panicked, yelping, "Wait! Sua, stop! You shouldn't-" THWACK! Sua shook her fist, exhaling as she turned back to Mizi, smiling sweetly. Mizi groaned, casting a concerned glance at Hudson's motionless form, then back at Sua. "Why does it always end like this, Sua?" Sua smiled then stepped fowards, cupping Mizi's cheek gently. "because your my Mizi. My god, my universe."
