The first time Jimin remembers Taehyung ever comforting him with his power it’s when they’re both around five years. Jimin had gotten angry at their parents for denying him a puppy and after throwing a tantrum and screaming at them Seokjin and Yoongi looked at each other and decide to ground Jimin for the rest of the afternoon.
“You need to reflect on your behavior,” his daddy tells him, arms crossed over his chest as he stands in the doorway. On the inside Jimin is absolutely fuming, cheeks streaked with tears and a pout fully formed on his lips. He even begins to fade with his anger, not able to control his powers enough for them to not be affected by his emotions.
“Min Jimin, I swear, if you use your invisibility to get out I will be very angry,” Yoongi says, and then sighs loudly at Jimin’s lack of response. The boy is already washed out, looking almost like a ghost. There’s a sudden crash downstairs and a shriek from Seokjin and he blanches.
“What happened?” Yoongi yells over the handrail of the stairs. Seokjin appears from beneath the staircase.
“Taehyung made me drop one of my mom’s vases,” Seokjin says and Yoongi slaps his hands over his face.
“Tell him to come up, I guess he and Jimin will have to be on time out together,” Seokjin nods and Yoongi hears Taehyung’s lithe steps climbing up the stairs. As soon as the little boy reaches the top of the staircase he looks at his daddy with wide eyes.
“You know what you did wrong,” Yoongi tells him, Taehyung nods, looking remorseful “okay, go in, your papa will bring you dinner and you’re not allowed to come outside.”
“Okay daddy,” Taehyung says, and oddly he doesn’t look as upset as he often looks whenever he gets grounded, but Yoongi isn’t going to think about it too much, he knows Seokjin must be really sad downstairs and needs to comfort him.
Taehyung closes the door to his and Jimin’s room, only to see his brother with a faint blue aura around him. Something in Taehyung’s eyes makes him able to look at Jimin whenever he’s invisible. His grandmother once said it was because dogs can see ghosts and Taehyung can turn into a dog, but they don’t really know what it is yet.
“Jiminie,” he says softly, placing a hand on Jimin’s shoulder, his brother shrugs.
“You got grounded too,” Jimin says, turning around, the aura stops glowing and he looks solid again “why?”
“I didn’t want you to be alone,” Taehyung says with a smile “it’s okay if I get in trouble when I can help you!”
“Taehyungie, you dummy,” Jimin wipes his tears away with his fist and smiles “thank you.”
“You’re welcome Jiminie,” Taehyung says with a boxy grin “and I can be your puppy if you want.”
“Really? You would do that?” Taehyung nods and conjures into his mind the image of a dog, shifting so he stands in four legs and shoves his tongue out of his mouth. Jimin coos and hugs him, petting his head with soft hands and hugging him.
“You’re the best brother ever, Taehyungie!” Jimin yells, nuzzling his head in Taehyung the dog’s furry neck. The other boy barks and wags his tail happily.
An hour later Seokjin knocks on the room, placing the two trays of dinner in the little table they have on the hallway. He musters a serious look, trying to hide his puffy, crying face from his children. It hurts his heart to have to ground Jimin and Taehyung (any of his children actually) they’re usually so well-behaved…
He opens the door to find Jimin and Taehyung sleeping in Jimin’s bed. Jimin no longer looks angry and instead had his face burrowed in Taehyung’s neck. Seokjin sighs, closing the door and taking the food downstairs. He now knows why Taehyung suddenly pushed him while he was trying to rearrange the vases in the living room.
Maybe dinner can wait.
2.
The second time it’s because of a fight with Jungkook.
Jimin knows his brother loves him, he’s so so sure, but sometimes Jungkook says or does mean things to him and he gets sad. It’s playtime for the youngest three, which means that while his daddy helps Namjoonie and Hoseokie with their big boy homework he can play with his brothers and watch TV. Taehyungie disappeared a while ago, maybe saying he wanted to help their papa with dinner and Jungkookie is trying to build a house of legos. Jimin keeps trying to hug his youngest brother, but the boy gets annoyed and rolls his eyes, making his skin really hot to the touch so Jimin won’t be able to hug him anymore.
“Ouch!” Jimin gets angry at this, opening up a force field and effectively knocking seven-year-old Jungkook and his legos to the ground. Instantly the youngest boy squints and him and Jimin just knows that’s coming for him.
“Papa!” Jungkook screeches, fake tears already falling past his cheeks and onto his school shirt. Jimin looks around frantically and shakes his head.
“Don’t you dare-“ he’s cut off by his papa’s steps coming to the living room.
“What happened?” Jungkook throws himself at Seokjin’s body, crying loudly on his father’s apron.
“J-Jiminie hit me! H-he pu-pushed me!” he’s wailing now, and Seokjin gives Jimin a stern glance. Suddenly Taehyung falls from the ceiling and one his back, groaning. Seokjin gasps and widens his eyes at his son, but bites back a reprimand.
“I know what happened papa! I saw it all!” Jungkook frowns at Taehyung, who stands up next to Jimin.
“Jiminie was trying to hug Jungkookie so Jungkookie turned red and Jiminie was only defending himself papa,” Seokjin looks at the three of them and sighs, rubbing his face with his hands.
“Okay listen, I have a cake baking in the oven but Jungkook, stop being mean to your brother and Jimin, don’t hit your brother,” he begins to walk away but comes back quickly “and Taehyung, stop crawling in the ceiling.”
Jungkook turns into a cat and follows his papa to the kitchen, leaving the same-aged brothers in the same room. Both of them look at each other and collapse to the ground in heaps of laughter, holding each other.
“That was so cool!” Jimin yells, hugging his brother "were you a bug or something?"
"I was Taehyung the Lizard!" his brother says back, giggling.
"Thank you so much Taehyungie"
“You’re welcome” Taehyung bows.

The third time Taehyung uses his power to comfort Jimin it’s because the older boy finds himself getting yelled at by his teacher.
They’re ten now, and Jimin’s being yelled at because a girl was using him as a mailman to pass notes to her best friend. He should’ve said no, honestly, because even though she kept whispering that she would take all the blame when the teacher caught him and asked him to read it aloud he accused the girl and she denied everything.
They’re in the classroom and with every word the teacher spits out about how he’s so disrespectful and how dare he blame such a hardworking, sincere girl like whatever-her-name-is Jimin feels like he’s about to disappear (actually disappear, which will most likely freak his teacher out and then not only he’s be worrying about getting yelled, but they’ll also call his parents) when he sees Taehyung turn around from his spot at the front of the class and wink at him.
They’re sitting separate from each other only because the girl next to Jimin (the same one that got him in trouble just now) kept complaining about them talking, saying that she couldn’t concentrate. Everyone’s attention is on Jimin, but his eyes are focused on Taehyung, who immediately shrinks down into a tarantula. Choi Jihoon snorts next to Jimin and begins moving Taehyung the spider with his mind.
“Is there something the matter, Mister Choi?” the teacher asks, shifting her stare from Jimin to his friend. Jihoon gives her a knowing smile.
“Nothing, Miss, nothing at all,” the girl next to Jimin begins talking about how him and Jimin shouldn’t be sitting together either. By now Taehyung is at the bottom of the girl’s desk and he begins climbing up the desk before settling on the top, inching closer and closer to her hand.
“Oh my God!” her friend calls, and instantly the class turns into chaos as the girl shrieks at the sight of Taehyung on her hand, everyone begins to run away and Jimin laughs loudly at her screams. The girl flings Taehyung away and thankfully Jihoon catches him in the air with his powers, setting him down so he can crawl out of the room and turn.
“Where did it go?! Where?!” the teacher asks, her face red with panic as she brandishes a ruler like it’s a sword.
“I don’t know!” the girl shrieks back, Taehyung (the human) comes from the door and bumps his shoulder against Jimin’s, placing his forefinger before his lips. They share a conspiratory grin as they watch Jihoon point out the spider in the girl’s body and her squirming around.
“You’re the best” Jimin mouths, covering his mouth with his hand, and they both laugh.

The fourth time Jimin finds himself crying in his room, report card on his shaky hand and a lousy grade in history staring back at him. His parents had just told him that the grade didn’t reflect his best and that they wanted him to bring it up. The thing is, Seokjin and Yoongi both know that Jimin will be too hard on himself so they tell Taehyung to please go comfort his brother.
“Hey Jiminie,” the black-haired boy hiccups, jolting up and looking at Taehyung with wide eyes.
“H-hi,” Taehyung walks to his brother and puts his arms around him. They’re thirteen, and Taehyung has been hitting a growth spurt recently, which makes Jimin fit perfectly against him.
“It’s okay, I can tutor you,” he says.
“I-I feel so stupid,” Jimin answers, burrowing his head in his brother’s chest.
“Hey, you’re not stupid at all! Jiminie, everyone knows you’re the smartest of both of us,” Taehyung says back, a boxy grin on his face.
“No way, I-I can’t even control my powers,” Jimin says, sobbing harder and Taehyung sighs, pushing his brother back and shifting until he’s a dog.
“What a-are you doing?” Jimin asks between his hiccups, laughing as Taehyung barks loudly and lies on his back.
“Aish, do you want me to pet you or something?” Taehyung barks an affirmative, wiggling around “okay,” Jimin quickly begins to give Taehyung a belly rub and Taehyung feels the sadness that used to be around Jimin float away.
“You know you’re the best brother ever right?” Jimin asks “I guess you’re better than a puppy,” Taehyung instantly shifts back and tackles Jimin with a hug.
“Jiminie, it’s okay to do things wrong from time to time, what’s important is that you get back up!” Taehyung says and he smiles when he sees his brother nod at him.
“Thank you Taehyungie, you’re like, the best brother ever.”
“I know.”

The fifth time (to date) happens because Jimin is having a hard time keeping up with his solo for the end of the year recital at the dance academy. Taehyung dropped out of dance years ago, so he only worries about playing the saxophone, but he knows how rigorous it can be, especially for Jimin who is such a perfectionist.
Both Jimin and Hoseok had come home with saddened expressions, but Taehyung knows Namjoon will take care of Hoseokie, so he and Jungkook try to help Jimin in the best way they can. He hears Namjoon try to cheer Hoseok up from his room, being loud and just so Namjoon that Hoseok cracks a grin and can’t keep himself from laughing. He and Jungkook wonder what they can do in order to help Jimin gain his smile back, they're not endearingly clumsy like Namjoon, but they can transform into cute animals.
So the answer is turning into bunnies of course.
They ask Seokjin to help them, shifting to bunnies in front of their papa and letting him place them into a basket which is already filled with chocolates Taehyung brought out of his secret stash. Seokjin giggles at his cute sons, petting Jungkook between the ears and praising Taehyung on his great idea.
“Jiminie, there’s two people here that want to give you a gift,” Jimin turns around at looks at his papa with a frown.
Seokjin found him sitting with his legs drawn to his chest and chin resting on top of his knees and watching footage of Hoseok’s solo dance of last year. Everyone knows Hoseok is great at dancing, his super speed gives him an advantage and sometimes he moves like his body is made of water. Jimin admires his big brother a lot so seeing him sad and worn out from practice crumbled the strong image he had of his favorite dancer. He needs to get some hope back by watching him.
“What’s that?” he steps off his bed and walks to his father, who smiles.
“A reminder that you’re doing great, I think,” Seokjin hands him the basket and winks.
“You two!” Jimin says, looking at the pair of bunnies. The smallest is Jungkook, Jimin guesses, because of his black fur and the other one in brown fur is Taehyung. He brings both of them out of the basket and settles them in the bed with him, taking out a chocolate bar and nibbling on it. Taehyung the bunny jumps to his lap and looks at him with his cute doe eyes. It's really an adorable sight and Jimin can't help but be filled with affection.
“You two are so cute you know? I love you both,” Jimin says with an eye smile, both bunnies look at each other and turn into humans again, attacking their brother with hugs.
“We love you too Jiminie!” Taehyung says.
“I don’t love you that much, but I like you enough,” Jungkook chimes in and both of his brothers laugh loudly at him.
Jimin truly feels glad to have such wonderful brothers with him after all.

Jimin doesn’t often think his powers are that useful with defense, he’s not as stealthy as Taehyung, he also can't run super fast to confuse the bad guys like Hoseok, and he’s not strong enough to carry anyone when they're injured, like Namjoon does, let's not even mention Jungkook's versatility which his powers don't let him have.
But hey, when he turns invisible he really disappears, and only his brother can see him.
Currently Taehyung and the class bully are getting into a fight, all because the bully’s girlfriend said Taehyungie was handsome! Jimin stands behind a tree, waiting for a signal from either Jihoon or Sanghyuk, Taehyung has saved his butt from many, many fights and it’s the time for Jimin to pay back at his brother for being so amazing.
The bully begins walking closer to Taehyung, who doesn’t look threatened at all, he probably knows Jimin will have his back. Jihoon shakes the branches of the tree Jimin is standing under and the boy nods, winking at his friend and turning completely invisible. He then walks closer to the crowd, pushing people and focusing everything on remaining unseen.
“You’re kidding right? Who the hell would ever think you’re handsome?!” the bully yells at Taehyung, and Jimin feels his blood boil, no one talks to his brother like that.
“Your girlfriend apparently,” Taehyung says with a wide smirk (because fuck the brain-to-mouth filter) and that’s all it takes, the bully lifts his arm and instantly Jimin pushes him to the ground.
“Wh-what was that?!” the bully screams, looking behind him, Jimin catches Taehyung’s eye and his brother winks at him.
“I think a demon might be after you!” Sanghyuk says, he has the power to see ghosts and communicate with them so everyone believes him. People start running around the playground and Jimin pushes the bully again as he tries to stand up.
“Don’t mess with Taehyung!” he yells, making sure the bully hears him, the boy quickly screams and runs away, leaving the brothers and their friends on their own. Jimin materializes again and high-fives Taehyung, who grins.
“You’re the best, you know that?” Taehyung tells him, eyes sparkling with mischief.
“I know,” Jimin shoots back with a wink.
