Rin was always an anti-romantic ever since he was a child. Love was seen as pointless and a distraction by him so he never paid any mind to it. He preferred playing soccer anyways.
When he was about 10 years old, kids his age thought that he was weird for not having a crush. Rin just either glared at them or brushed it off, soccer was more important anyways.
That's how he spent his whole life. Always prioritizing soccer, because his brother once said, "Love is temporary, soccer is forever. " which looking back sounds very stupid but Rin still believed him because he admired his brother and would hang on every word he said.
Rin was so immersed in soccer that he forgot to have a social life. He was basically a loner when by the time he reached highschool. He didn't know how to socialize and only knew how to glare at people to make them go away.
Plus, he was surrounded by people who was helplessy in love with someone which made him even despise the concept of love even more and made him prioritize soccer even more.
Though, as much as soccer was important to him, he also needed to focus on his studies. So that's what he did, juggling between training and studying. He had no time for "friends" or "love".
One day, he was training at a nearby park. He was practicing his shots when he accidentally messed up and the soccer ball's trajectory changed, instead of going straight into the goal, it curved and ended up hitting a nearby passerby.
Boom!
Rin's eyes widen in shock as he immediately ran up to the person who got hit. "You okay? " He asked, his voice turning out colder than he intended as reached out his hand for the other person to grab.
"Yeah." The person's voice came out softer than Rin expected, it was soft like the clouds above in the sky. It was also surprisingly sweet like cotton candy.
"Sorry about that. " Rin embarrassingly muttered as he helped the boy get up.
"It's okay. Oh, my name's Isagi Yoichi. What's yours? " Isagi enthusiastically, too enthusiastic for someone who got hit by a soccer ball.
"Rin."
"Well then Rin, wanna play soccer? But this time, don't mess up and hit someone again okay? " Isagi teased as he walked over to where the ball was and picked it up.
"You're on, lukewarm. " Rin replied, Isagi's words making him pissed off. But deep down, he found the boy interesting. He wasn't like the others, well he kinda is but he's a little more tolerable than the others.
Isagi's playstyle amazed Rin. Isagi's movements were calculated and sharp, yet with a hint of elegance. He could predict Rin's move a few seconds before Rin could even do it, and to be honest? That was the first time Rin was impressed.
While Rin's playstyle was the complete of Isagi's. Yes, his was also calculated and sharp but it was also sometimes irrational yet rational at the same time. He could make the most craziest moves and it would still work out in the end.
In the end, the two laid on the grassy field. Tired, out of breath, and completely impressed of each other.
"I guess you're not so lukewarm after all. " Rin muttered, making Isagi smile a little bit.
"And I guess you're not that much of an asshole after all. " Isagi joked, making him get a whack on the head by Rin. Isagi just laughed it off while Rin looked pissed.
"I take back what I said, you're annoying. " Rin replied, rolling his eyes but Isagi just continued laughing. Making Rin's heart race a little but he didn't know why.
"And you're still here, talking to the annoying me. " Isagi added, his lips curling up to a smile that blinded Rin. It was so bright that it could rival the Suns.
The two remained in that position for a while, gazing at the starry midnight sky above them. Isagi pointing at a few stars while Rin just nodded or hummed in acknowledgement.

Rin's world consisted of him, soccer, and Sae. Well that was in the past, now it's just him and soccer. No friends, always trying to avoid his parents and blocked his brother on everything after their fight.
Most days he would just lay on his bed, staring at his celling for hours. He would cry if he could but all he just felt empty. Like there was something missing, but how could that be? He has everything he needs—𝙨𝙤𝙘𝙘𝙚𝙧.
But then, someone new 𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙙 𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙡𝙙. Bringing along chaos and warmth. A sunshine with a chaotic side to them—𝙄𝙨𝙖𝙜𝙞 𝙔𝙤𝙞𝙘𝙝𝙞.
After that encounter, Rin and Isagi started meeting up every day after school to play soccer or to just talk about random things. And through that, Rin discovered that Isagi wasn't also interested in love which made him kinda surprised because Isagi didn't strike him as someone who wasn't that interested in finding a partner.
Isagi's reason was that he simply didn't have any romantic feelings for anyone so all his life, he thought love will only come to people who truly desired it.
It made Rin feel a little bit understand, finally there was someone who wasn't interested in love and all of that. But unfortunately, they just had to take form of an annoying sunshine with a sprout on his head—𝙗𝙪𝙩 𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙𝙣'𝙩 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙞𝙩 𝙖𝙣𝙮 𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙬𝙖𝙮.

Eventually, Rin got completely engulfed by Isagi's warmth. The cold walls that he built to isolate himself from the outside world slowly melted in Isagi's warmth. 𝙈𝙖𝙮𝙗𝙚 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙗𝙮 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙨𝙞𝙙𝙚 𝙞𝙨𝙣'𝙩 𝙨𝙤 𝙗𝙖𝙙 𝙖𝙛𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙖𝙡𝙡.
But then it hit him like a brick from out of nowhere. 𝙃𝙚 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙨𝙡𝙤𝙬𝙡𝙮 𝙛𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙞𝙣 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙄𝙨𝙖𝙜𝙞. He didn't know when or how.
Rin paced around his room, having an internal breakdown as he tried to face this "painful" reality. He never knew how to felt to fall in love so he didn't really know what to do.
𝙍𝙞𝙣'𝙨 𝙋𝙊𝙑:
Okay.
What the actual hell?
How did I fall for such a lukewarm guy like him?!
I mean sure he's sweet and pretty and all. He's a lovable annoying idiot who doesn't know when to give up.
Oh.
Dammit, what am I gonna do now?
Wait, how did I even fall in love with him again? All I remember was we were at the swings, staring at the sunset when he randomly looked at me with those warm eyes of his, making my heart race and do backflips. Then his lips curled up into the most ethereal smile ever that made my heart flutter, and oh. That's when I fell in love.
Okay, reasonable. But I did not expect for this to happen. So, what to do now? I obviously can't bottle up these "emotions", that's just straight up impossible.
Maybe..... Confess to him? But how do I do that? I'll just google it or something, I don't know okay?!
𝙀𝙣𝙙 𝙤𝙛 𝙍𝙞𝙣'𝙨 𝙋𝙊𝙑
Rin spent the rest of the night searching up how to confess to your crush that is very annoying but adorable.
Lets just say he only had three hours of sleep that day, luckily it was a weekend meaning he didn't have to wake up early for school.
When he arrived at the field that day, he felt a strange and foreign feeling settling in his chest as he thought of Isagi flashing that beautiful smile of his at him. "Ah, this must be what they call lovestruck. " Rin muttered to himself, recalling everything he googled about love last night as he clutched his chest tight, the tips of his ears turning red.
He was so distracted that he didn't notice Isagi standing right at him. When he did notice, Isagi's face was inches away from his. Making Rin's heart skip a literal beat.
"What'chu thinking about? " Isagi asked, his big blue eyes staring right at Rin's, making Rin's heart flutter.
"N-nothing... " Rin cursed himself for stuttering, now that will only make Isagi suspect him more. "Stupid self. "
While Rin was still spacing out, Isagi gave Rin a small peck on the cheek out of the blue. It took Rin a few moments to process what just happened but when he did, he exploded. He stumbled on his words and started stuttering, his face was also bright red which made Isagi let out a small laugh.
"W-What did you just do?! " Rin exclaimed, his heart racing once again as he clutched his chest while Isagi stood there with a childish grin on his face.
"Nothin', you were spacing out so I had to bring you back to Earth somehow. " Isagi answered casually, winking at Rin like he didn't just kiss Rin on the cheek.
But then, Rin muttered a few words under his breath. Isagi couldn't hear what he said so he leaned closer and asked him to repeat what he just said. But then, Rin pulled Isagi in closer and kissed him directly on the lips. Shocking Isagi.
When Rin pulled away, he had this embarrassed expression on his face. "I said, again but do it 𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 this time. " He stated, looking away.
Isagi stood there, astonished at what Rin just did before letting out a small laugh. "Idiot." He muttered under his breath before smiling lovingly at Rin.
Rin stood up and engulfed Isagi in his embrace. "Okay, I change my mind. Love's definitely not pointless as long as it's 𝙮𝙤𝙪. " Rin stated, making Isagi laugh while hugging him back.
