This Oreo ain't shi

Summary:

Miss Circle sneaks into Miss Bloomie's lab. She snacks on curious looking oreos.

She doesn't feel as jolly with the after affects.

Work Text:

This Isn't An Oreo Brand.

Dust filtered through the sun's rays, dancing along the light. The usually bustling school was empty, early in the morning. Clouds streaked the sky, light and golden from the star in the heavens, sending a breeze across the chilly air. It would be peaceful. It should be peaceful.

Someone was sneaking around. Well, trying to. Being so tall that the school's dimensions had to be adjusted to accommodate you doesn't score any points in stealth. But don't tell that to Miss Circle. Her boots clunked across the floor, the woman clearly never had been told how to use her tip toes. She was as hunched over as she could be, her fingers lightly grazing the linoleum floor. Her black horns that could cut Ouranos clean open had cobwebs stretching from one point to the other, the only evidence of her previous adventures in Bloomie's lab.

Circle's ears perked, her head turning this way and that, trying to locate the missing key, the little doohickey Flora uses to unlock her secret lab. Katherine was aware that Flora misplaced objects often, and had all of her senses save for hearing from the numerous experiments she had conducted on herself muted and at times working little to none. The woman couldn't have something simple, or small, or having an odd smell. No, she would need something to emit a specific sound, a single frequency where only she should have been able to listen to in her teacher group; at least with students or guests that could possibly hear it, they wouldn't know what it was used for. A foolproof plan.

At least it was supposed to be. Unfortunately for Miss Bloomie, Circle had nothing but time, time where she had her own little schemer to help enhance her hearing. After wiping at her horns, she pressed the now clean spikes against the heavy, chemical stained wooden desk Bloomie called hers. The black tips dug into the side as Circle squinted, the bigger woman straining her ears to hear for anything.

A moment.

Two.

Three.

Nothing. Circle pulls back, a little disgruntled but nonetheless determined. She crawled to the other side, jabbing her horns in just the same.

A moment.

Two.

Three. A faint whir.

Something. Circle pressed the side of her head to the desk.

Drawer one. Faint.

Drawer two. Louder.

Drawer three. Jackpot.

Found it. The math teacher rips the drawer open, exposing a set of pencils; only one didn't have a thin layer of dust from disuse. She plucked the otherwise innocuous looking pencil, and it was time for the next step; actually finding where it was used. She checked a hole in the desk, a deep divot; she put the eraser in first, then the tip of the pencil, and then just rubbed the side carefully. Nothing.

It appeared that it was a random divot. Circle cursed to herself. She turned to stare at the wall; a hatch should appear when the pencil was placed where it needed to be…

She slid the pencil across the wall, along the brick's lines until-

A click, and a floor tile twitched. Circle bounded over, grabbing at the tile and yanking it off; the tile flew somewhere, Miss Circle was already in.

It was dark. Reeked of chemicals and sweat. Was honestly not Circle's finest moment, pawing at the walls until she found a light switch. Flicking it on, a few half life light bulbs flared dimly. her nose wrinkled as she spotted Bloomie strewn across the desk, chest ever so slightly heaving, as if something had her out of breath before Flora had passed out. Katherene's face scrunched up even more as she scented something rather distasteful in the air. Had the ex-scientist no shame? Circle furiously rubbed her nose, pointedly moving Bloomie's chair over to a corner, careful not to touch the unidentified stains- chemicals or not. She also ignored the woman's soft noises.

Turning back to the table, Circle gleefully looked over her choices. A few glimmering tubes of mysterious liquid, some random looking tool, bottles of labeled chemicals she didn't care to read, a nearly empty bottle of lotion-

Oh? A plate of Oreos? A new flavor, it appeared? Freshly made? For her? Miss Circle licked her lips, checking on Bloomie for a second right before ripping into the paper plate.

The chocolatey goodness that graced Circles' taste buds was otherwise indescribable. A full body shudder ran down her body, as cookie after cookie disappeared from the platter into a void. She let out a moan that would have put Bloomie to shame, as she grabbed a fistful, in her massive paw being an entire feast, and downed the rest of the sugary goodness in a single gulp.

Taking a quick glance behind her, Circle just as quickly fled the scene of the crime, a massive grin stretched across her face. Not only had she infiltrated the witch's lair, she had pocketed her own treasure! Well, it wasn't in her pockets, but that's merely the fine details. She sauntered off, otherwise unphased besides a little sleepiness edging her mind.

As the day progressed, she began feeling a little prickly. In her mind, in her behavior, in her skin. Her claw absently scratched at her stump, pulling away to Circle's confusion, having wax streaked across the black digits. Her befuddlement was clear, as she stood by the blackboard in front of the small crowd of students. She didn't even notice when they had all gotten up and crept towards her like a small pack of ducklings.

She shook her head, trying to clear the brain fog that was invading her senses; she mumbled wordlessly, Her features twisted in a scowl while a single jet black feather landed on her nose.

She frowned, her gaze sliding up to locate wherever the bird was. The ceiling gave no answers, as Circle scratched her head absentmindedly. More feathers fell, and she felt a twinge of pain in her scalp. Katherene pulled her hand away, aghast. another midnight feather splayed between her fingers.

What. The. Hell. She snatched a mirror from the desk, pushing it to see—

Feathers. SO MANY. Damn feathers. Growing from her horns, her neck, a few on her cheeks, and the small wax buds of new feathers on her claws and arms. Wherever there was black, whether on her hair or whatever, was dotted and swamped in bird-ness. Her students were fascinated; had it been once of the nicer teachers, she was sure the brats would have been all touchy-feely. Sucks for them.

She snapped at a bolder one, watching as the rest of the class nervously slunk back into their seats. Circle couldn't stop scratching, as somehow there was an impossible amount of wax- she didn't know if birds had waxy stuff on them. Finally, she relented on herself, stalking out of class easy to stomp on over to Miss Bloomie's class. Her heavy boot stomps could have had the student population tremble in fear, had she not looked incredibly goofy. They stared from windows as a furiously scratching giant lady left a trail of feathers in her enraged wake.

The woman practically- no, she kicked down the door of Miss Bloomie's classroom, barging in without regard of the startled students. Bloomie stood up immediately, a frown on her face.

"What is it this time?" Flora hissed, arms crossed. She wasn't impressed by Katherene's grand entrance. "…oh. Who tared and feathered you?" She pointedly glared, gesturing to her college's appearance. "Though it seems it was merely feathers," Bloomie began, tugging at a waxy folded quill, rubbing the white until a new soft feather was revealed…making her frown even deeper. "…you know, there's something rather curious about this situation."

"Yeah, it's probably the freaking FEATHERS growing out of me!"

"Not only that," Flora countered. "What's even more odd is how I had baked a batch of cookies mixed with a serum…" Her gaze had Circle squirming, refusing to look at her. "That would make the test subject sprout feathers."

"…wow, what a coincidence!" Circle crowed, her smile much too forced.

"Circle you ate my fucking cookies."

"…ugh." Bloomie rubbed her forehead at her complaints, then she rummaged through her desk drawers.

"Don't pout, Katherene. I'll work this out," She pulled out come devious looking tools for science and measuring. "But first, I can't let a opportunity like this go to waste!"

"HEYHEYEHEYEHYEHEYEHHEEEEELP!!!!"
