Summary
Her mom died of an overdose when Rey was ten, leaving behind nothing but a string of foster homes and a box of junk that smelled like cheap vanilla and ghosts. Then, buried under old receipts and half-burnt photos, Rey finds something that changes everything — pictures of her mother with a man named Luke Skywalker, a wealthy professor whose life looks safe, solid, and untouchable.
