Chapter Text
~ We see you "Opal" your trouble are miles away! ~
I am running like there is no tomorrow, because if I get caught, there will be no tomorrow for me. With each sharp intake, it feels like my lungs are freezing into an ice block. As I crest the small hill surrounded by thick forests filled to the brim with animals and the voices fade away behind me, I walk into a clearing within the trees, then I see a woman, pale, with pearl white hair, and beautiful plum purple eyes that seemed to be trained on me since I first appeared over the hill on my every move. I call out to her, feeling as if I am finally safe with her, even thought my village is just a few miles away and I have never seen her in my life, "Miss! What are you doing out here in these mountains in this cold weather?" I shout across the clearing, still trying to keep my distance in case my parents hired her to take my back, even though I made my escape just hours ago and they could not possibly afford something like this but I'm still careful.
"I could ask you the same young one, and you seem to be doing far worse than I am at the moment." The pale woman replies, her brows tight with worry for the poor child standing in front of her.
"What?" I whisper, looking down at my clothes and realized there are bits of cloth missing from getting caught on branches in my mad dash out of the village, Through the holes in my shirt you could see my ribs sticking out faintly through my skin. "Oh... my mom said that's normal for kids like me." I tell her, even though I know that's a lie, I still like to believe it, even after everything, I still love my mom. The woman seems to stiffen at my reply for a moment then composes herself, but I start feeling my legs get weaker under me and my vision starts to blur.
"Are you okay young one? What is you name?" The woman says as she speed-walks over to me, I don't make any attempts to get away from her, my vision is far to blurry form me to move without feeling like I'm going to throw up.
"My name is..." I wince, pain shooting through my head, feeling like I'm getting my head rammed into a rock as I crumple to the ground. "Tomioka Giyuu..." I whisper, I think she is close enough to hear me, even if she could not, I don't have enough energy to repeat myself. I see her yelling something into the opposite side of the woods that I came from. A man, I think, I can't see quite well, the world seems to be on a tilt and blackness flickers through my vision, obscuring any hope I have of seeing clearly the person who just ran out of the woods and is approaching me, fast. Even if I wanted to get away, I don't have enough strength to do anything to do anything but weakly wiggle around, trying to get the leverage to stand up. The last thing I feel before the darkness overtakes my vision is the warm embrace of a person picking me up, which is not an impressive feat, and gently rubbing my boney, cut up, and bloody back. I feel at home.
