Work Text:
It was fall. The leaves turned different shades of orange and brown, warm and cold filled the air.AND MIA STILL HASN'T FALL FOR HIM.Where is the head over heels?Wherever is the chilvary?
"What was the point of it all?! I still can't get Mia to fall for me no matter what I do.It's useless!" He said with a huff.
Frustration grew.He has had a big crush on Mia for years, everyone knew about it.Well, except for Mia.Either she had been oblivious towards his feelings,or she was simply ignoring it.He has tried everything!First,he had tried kabedon on Mia to a wall, just like he had read in mangas, only for him to end up the one being flustered.Mia was still taller than Charles no matter how much time had passed.Second attempt, delivering a bouquet of flowers to her doorstep. But her roommate,Joni would always throw the flowers away to the outside trash bin before Mia could ever have a look at it.Argh! That monkey! Always ruining my plans! Third attempt, candle light dinner for two,but her reaction was still the same! Fourth attempt,a picnic under the waterfalls. But she brought Emilia,Joni,Corey and Ji-Won with her!
He plopped onto his couch with a sigh.Picking up the novel he had been reading. The princess fell for the knight after he had saved her from the dragon. If only it was that easy to make someone fall for you.
Thud!
He peeked above the book he was reading to get a glimpse of where the noise had come from.A book had fallen from the table. And his cat,Lucy was on top of the table, looking at him playing innocent,as if she hadn't done that just to get his attention. He rolled his eyes and walked over to the table.
"Lucy I had told you many times not to knock things over!"
He bent down to grab the book.
Wait...A love potion?
It had peeked his interest. He grabbed the book and went over the pages.
'Love potion:make anyone fall in love with you with a drop. The victim of the potion must look at the first person he sees for it to work'
This could actually work!Wait,WHAT AM I THINKING?! I CAN'T DO THAT.THAT IS AGAINST...EVERYTHING! IT'S WRONG! I MUSN'T.But...maybe it wouldn't hurt? BUT IT'S WRONG!
He shut the book close.Still contemplating whether or not it was a good idea. But it might just work.
He opened the book and re-read the pages. He had all the ingredients needed in his study. He dropped a head of rosemary, crushed roots of a magical mushroom, waterlily leaves into the cauldron. And finally a tear full of love, his own.The concoction turned pink and glittery magic roamed around it.He poured it into small glass bottles, one for himself and the rest to sell.He had needed to do a test run to see if it was a sucess. He placed the bottles of love potion onto the table in his study and went to grab a frog as an experiment subject.
Crash!
Glass...THE POTIONS!
He quickly ran to his study to see that one of the glass potion bottles had broke and spilled on Lucy. The black cat turned to Charles.Pupils dilated. She didn't look like herself. She looked like a beast.Lucy went after him with a crazed look on her face.He immediately went to the closest room he can find, locked the door.
A thud on the door.
Skreeeeech.
Scratching.
Over and over again.
Okay...I did NOT expected that to happen. The potion wasn't for Lucy! And now she's infected.QUICK.QUICK.THINK OF A SALUTION!I could teleport, get the book, teleport back, find the book for answers. There has got to be a spell or potion to reverse this!
He teleported to his study and quickly grabbed his spell book, skimming over the pages, looking for a cure.
Come on come on come on!
There isn't a cure.
Charles dropped to his feet.Dread falling all over him. What has he done? The potion was suppose to be for Mia.Only now he had realised how dangerous the potion had been. Why did it even existed? He didn't expect Lucy to go feral. He didn't want anyone to go feral.Oh god...if it had been Mia.He drowned in his own thoughts. His mistakes, his what-if's.He locked himself in his study for days.He never came out.He could, but never did.
===================
He came out of his study once he had calmed down.As he reached for the door, something was stuck. It would not budge. It would not move.He pushed the door with much more force.Only to look at what had been infront of the door.Lucy, laying down lifeless. Her body, cold and stiff. The blood on her paws had dried.
Charles cried that night. But it was already too late. You can't bring back the dead, afterall.
