It's On Again

Summary:

"You didn't thank me properly. Your boyfriend can wait."

"And how do I do that, Spider-Man?" Sieun asked, his face impassible as he turned around and walked closer. Wow, he truly was good at acting like they didn't know each other.

"With a kiss," Suho responded proudly.

OR

Suho's crime fighting may cause delays, it doesn't stop him from doing everything he can to be with his boyfriend.

Work Text:

"If the old lady was mean, I would've let you keep the wallet. Too bad for you, she's the sweetest grandma in the neighborhood. So, take this," Suho fished for a few thousand wons in his pocket and dropped the crumpled bills in the young boy's hand. He stared at him in surprise, mouth agape, his round eyes peeking throuh his bangs. "For the twisted wrist, I didn't mean to do that. And some more so you don't have to steal money. Don't let hyung catch you again because I won't be so nice next time, alright?"

The boy, probably just a few years younger than Suho, nodded with a quiet "Yes, Spider-Man hyung," and ran off as fast as he could.

Suho stood there, with his hands on his hips as he watched him get on the bus across the street, before turning around and entering the convenience store.

"Halmeoni, I got it!"

The old lady smiled when the hero waved the wallet and put it down on the counter with flair. By day, she knew him as the boy who buys two cans of Redbull, often flanked by a polite boy with pretty eyes. By night, she knows him as Spider-Man, the city's hero, always ready to land a helping hand when she's handling the store all by herself. She sometimes helps him in return by setting up his camera behind the glass window that gave onto the street, allowing him to capture moments of him fighting crime. She didn't know why he would need that, but it was a small price paid for all the help he had been giving her these past weeks.

"Thank you, sweetie. Here, have this." She handed him two Choco Pies. "Eat some with a friend."

"Will do! Thank you, see you tomorrow!"

The bell over the door rang as he stepped out into the street bustling with tired students coming home from cram school and rushing past him without even noticing he was wearing his Spider-Man mask. He carefully slid the snacks in his pocket and checked his reflection in the window. There was a slight bump on the side, and they might get squished but oh well, his hands are busy when he swings so this will have to do.

He checked the time and groaned. It was already 10:20 p.m.

Earlier, as he was on his way pick Sieun up from cram school, he encountered Ganghak high schoolers trying to extrort money from another student. He texted Sieun that he wouldn't be able to make it on time and immediately pulled the mask on his face, his gloves over his hands, smoothly helping the student and lightly beating some sense into the others. It was something he would have done with or without the mask, but it allowed him to shoot webs and perform gravity defying acrobatics at lightning speed without raising suspicions.

"If I see you one more time I'm telling Geum Seongje," he had told them, leaving them stuck to the wall until the webs dissolved to teach them a lesson.

The threat was more effective than any other, Seongje had everyone in his high school and the surrounding ones shaking at the mere mention of his name.

As soon as he was done with those boys, his spider-sense buzzed and he had rounded the corner to see someone bolting out of the convenience store he usually goes to. Before he knew it, he was jumping in front of a teenager running away with the owner's wallet in hand. Suho immediately held his arm and stuck it to the other with a web to take the wallet out of his hands, before cutting through the webbing with a lightning quick slice of the hand.

Finally able to breathe, he pulled out his phone and checked Sieun's location. The picture of a black cat representing him was already just a few streets away from his building, Suho might get to walk him home for the last few meters if he swings fast enough.

The Seoul night sky had become his second home as he jumped from rooftop to rooftop, webs thwiping in the air until he reached the intricate alleys of Sieun's neighborhood. The lights extended like a sea of stars under him, Suho soaring, his heart soaring along with him with the excitement of seeing Sieun again after a few hours spent apart. He closed in on the dot that pinpointed Sieun's location, and heard voices in the quiet street.

Three boys were circling another, and he was about to jump past when he spotted a familiar school uniform at the center. It wasn't just a random boy, it was his boy. His Sieun. Did everyone agree to terrorize clueless kids out on the streets tonight? He watched as one of them got closer and pulled on Sieun's name tag.

"Yeon Sieun? Isn't that a girl's name? He kinda looks like one, don't you think?"

"What do you want?" Sieun sounded unimpressed.

The boys circling him like hyenas were not intimidating him as he stared them down coldly.

"Pocket money, Eunjang. Come on. We know you got some."

"I don't, though," Sieun replied flatly. "And I have to get home, so get out of my way."

"Whoa, look at his eyes. Doesn't it make you want to punch him?" The boys cackeld, instigating each other with more jabs and ill-intentioned jokes.

Suho's blood boiled, his hands clenched tightly into fists. He crawled on a pole that was sticking out the edge of the roof, preparing to jump down at the right spot to catch them without hurting Sieun.

Sieun pulled a pen out of his pocket. Click. Click. Click. The sound was resonating ominously in the quiet alley, its vibrations in the air reaching Suho, freezing him in his spot.

"Try me," Sieun challenged them.

One of them attempted to steal his bag and Sieun let it slide off his arm until he gripped the strap and hurled it at his assailant's head. Suho winced. It was full of textbooks, it must hurt like a motherfucker. As Sieun stepped backwards, another tried to attack him from the side but Sieun had already seen him in his peripheral vision. He planted his pen in the hand that was coming to grab him, indifferent to his scream.

It was time for Suho to jump into action. He dived head first, securing himself with a web stuck to the pole he was sitting on just a moment ago. When he reached their level, he targeted a web at the third student's chest and pulled him in to land a punch under his jaw, knocking him out instantly. The boy dropped to the floor with a thud and the other, who was holding his hand with the pen sticking out and blood dripping off the side of his palm, looked at him in horror before fleeing the scene. Suho's spider-sense warned him as the last one was about to lay a hand on Sieun. A web landed straight on his face before he could, and Sieun swept him off his feet with a quick sweep kick. He scrambled to get back up on his feet, but instead of fighting, he ran off blindly, hands tangled in the web stuck to his face. Sieun turned around to find Suho still dangling upside down, and glared at him.

"I had it under control," he said quietly, teeth clenched tightly.

"I know. But I still couldn't let them touch you," Suho responded, matching his quiet tone.

"Take care of the unconscious one for me, Spider-Man," Sieun said as he picked his backpack. "I'll go home now. Can't keep my boyfriend waiting," he added with a small smile.

Suho's heart jumped in his chest when Sieun mentionned him. His boyfriend. He was Sieun's boyfriend. Sieun called him his boyfriend. Before he knew it, Sieun was already walking away.

"Wait!"

Sieun, who was about to take another step further away from him, stopped in his motion and looked over his shoulder.

"What?"

"You didn't thank me properly. Your boyfriend can wait."

"And how do I do that, Spider-Man?" he asked, his face impassible as he turned around and walked closer. Wow, he truly was good at acting like they didn't know each other.

"With a kiss," Suho responded proudly.

Sieun's face immediately broke into five different expresions as he processed what he said, looking around the empty alley. "Someone might see us, are you crazy?" he whisper-shouted.

Suho chuckled, endeared by his round eyes and the way a red hue gradually colored the tip of his ears. "Come on, Sieun-ssi. Just one. It's half past ten, no one's walking around here," he pried, voice sweet to coax him into accepting.

Sieun bit his bottom lip, considering it for an instant, before letting out a defeated sigh. "Okay."

"I'll get down, hold-"

Sieun stopped him before he could and held his face in his hands. Suho held his breath as his fingers trailed up to his neck and slid in the space between his shirt and his mask. He hooked a finger under the base of the mask and slowly peeled it off, revealing Suho's chin, then his plump lips, and some of his nose so he could breathe. He stopped there, securing his face in his hands so he wouldn't sway away, and closed the distance between their lips. Sieun caught Suho's bottom lip, moving gently, trying to find a rhythm in this unfamiliar position. Suho felt him breathe out through his nose, the air tingling his neck and sending a hot wave down his body. This time, Sieun was the one in control, guiding Suho through this newfound harmony. Suho ascended to another plane of existence, his head spinning partially because of the fire spreading within him as Sieun sucked on his bottom lip, and also because of the blood rushing to his head. Filled with nothing but Sieun, his thoughts had stilled, his body begging for more. More of his touch, more of him. When Sieun pulled away, Suho tried to chase after him, as much as he could in his position, but Sieun shook his head, stopping him by placing his index finger against his lips.

"What the fuck-"

Suho didn't take his eyes off Sieun and launched a web to cover the boy's eyes as he tried to lift his head, the recoil of the impact knocking him out unconscious once again.

"He'll think this was all a hallucination, don't worry," Suho reassured him so Sieun would take his eyes off the ground. When their eyes met once again, the fire sparked, eye contact feeding oxygen to the flames. "Let's go home," Suho rasped, voice lower, weighed down by desire.

"Let's go."

Suho hopped off the web, landing gracefully on his feet, and looked at the hand Sieun was holding out for him to take. He took it, and pulled Sieun closer to wrap Sieun's arm around his shoulders and hooked an arm under legs to carry him instead.

"Hold tight, Princess."

"What are you-"

Sieun was interrupted when Suho pointed his arm upwards to launch a web and pulled both of them up on top of the building near them. He held tight like he was instructed as Suho ran and jumped off the edge to launch another web, clawing at him so he wouldn't fall, eyes squeezed shut. He felt the evening breeze in his hair, face buried in Suho's chest when they soared in the sky, tickles in his stomach when they dropped down before swinging up. It was his first time swinging with Suho, and he felt the adrenaline Suho had mentioned whenever Sieun asked him how it was.

When they reached Sieun's building, Suho dropped him off gently at the main entrance, holding Sieun's hands until he was steady and walked inside the building. He climbed up the side, and by the time he reached the window, Sieun was already there to open it, welcoming him home in his arms.

Within seconds, Suho's mask was pulled off, red gloves thrown and forgotten, and his lips were on Sieun as he fell backwards on his bed.

"Missed you," Suho whispered between kisses, his lips not leaving Sieun's for an instant. "M'sorry."

Sieun pushed him away with both hands flat on his chest. "What are you sorry for this time?" His eyebrows were furrowed, his angered expression so adorable in Suho's eyes he leaned closer and rubbed the tip of his nose with his. Sieun added pressure so Suho would look him in the eyes. "I'm serious, Suho."

Suho sighed, his eyes closed, heart still heavy. "Sorry I wasn't there earlier."

Sieun's hand reached his cheek, hot under his touch, slightly sweaty after being covered by the mask for a while. "You can't keep feeling guilty for things you're not aware of, and things you can't control." He said every word with intent, as if he could drill it into Suho's heart and soul with sheer power of will. "Being Spider-Man doesn't mean you need to be perfect all the time, okay? You're my Suho first, Spider-Man second. And my Suho was right on time to walk me home even if it was just a few meters. So, don't make my Suho feel guilty for anything, or else."

Suho's eyes fluttered open, endeared as he met Sieun's determined face. "Or else?" he asked with a smile, eyes radiating so much warmth he was afraid Sieun would melt under his gaze.

"Or I'll teach you a lesson," Sieun responded with a threatening look.

Suho loved it, maybe a little too much. He shuffled on top of Sieun, his elbows giving up slightly to press his body against his, face breaking into a wider smile, eyes glistening as Sieun's tone piqued his interest.

"Oh, really? How?"

As his hand reached over to Sieun's face, Sieun grabbed his wrist and shifted them so he would be on top, Suho moving along to make it easier for him, allowing him to pull Suho's wrist above his head.

Suho's entire body shivered in anticipation, saliva pooling in his mouth. He swallowed, letting Sieun pin both his hands against the mattress. Just as his face hovered a few centimeters away from his, close but not close enough, making Suho arch his back for even just a slither of proximity, Suho's phone rang. Sieun rolled his eyes and, with one hand still on Suho's wrist, reached for it in Suho's pants with the other. Two Moon Pies slipped out with it, and he looked up at him in confusion.

"Convenience store halmeoni," Suho explained with a smile.

Sieun nodded and looked at the name of the caller. Of course, it was him. He accepted it and put the call on speaker.

"Dude, make it to Dongjak bridge. Now." Seongje's voice was breathless, and they could hear someone shouting beside him.

Suho and Sieun exchanged a look that said everything, from confusion to curiosity to annoyance. "Why?" Suho asked.

"I swear I'm not on drugs but there's a… human sized lizard outside noona's car about to smash through the window?"

"Is that Spider-Man on the phone? Spider-Man, get your ass over here right now!" Her voice was as loud as if she was right next to them. "I can't leave this guy alone in the car so come and do your thing or I'll straight up shoot the lizard."

"Yes, Ma'am."

The call cut, and Sieun's grip on his hands loosened. He slowly got off him, hands sliding down Suho's arm and passing over his chest until they rested on his own thighs.

"We'll pick this up when I get back," Suho promised, sitting up to drop a peck on Sieun's cheek. "Eat the food I brought home earlier. We'll have dessert together."

Sieun hummed, watching Suho strip to change into his suit. He picked Suho's mask off the floor and handed it to him. The last piece that was missing for Suho's suit to be complete.

"Go get 'em, tiger," Sieun said as he handed it to him with an encouraging nod, eyes shining with the light of a million stars.

Suho grabbed him by the shoulders and planted a strong kiss right on his lips, before pulling away with the most radiant smile, illuminating the dark night with his sunshine.

He stepped backwards, his eyes not leaving Sieun until he reached the window. He kept looking at him, watching him wave so he would leave faster, and slid the mask on his face, finally fully ready to go on with his crime fighting –and freak-fighting, because what the fuck did Seongje mean by human-sized lizard?

He climbed up on the windowsill and, with one last look at Sieun, he jumped into the night, ready to help those who needed it.

Because after all, he is the one and only

Spider-Man.
