They briefly wondered of how could they breathe in outer space. That, however, turned out to not be the most important thing to think of. At the moment, at least.
They stared at the Earth. The commonly known "blue blur" near them, who looked as blue as a piece of cheese right now, was holding their hand. The scene, the view, what was happening around them was captivating. Infinitely captivating, in fact.
The deep dark of the cosmos. It's vastness makes them feel such freedom they can't comprehend.
"Does Sonic always feel that way?"
The distant shine of the stars is so luring.
The planet they'd spend all their life on now seeming so out of reach it that it would normally make them incredibly concerned.
The feeling, the view of two palms clenched together.
Still, the hedgehog's gaze only focused on one of the only people in the mile radius. That person, surprisingly or not, turned out to be a currently rose gold colored and for one certain reason shiny quokka.
They wondered if that was even real. Wondered how did they even manage to get themselves into such a situation.
One moment, Sonic offers “something really cool to do”, to which Barry, despite the vagueness of the sentence, agrees without question.
Then, the next thing they know is that they're supposedly super cool or strong or something? And they're in space? And a person they love dearly who, as Barry ridiculously previously thought, was too special and too distant to ever turn out to be with them was currently treating them like they're the most expensive thing totally worth cherishing? The moment seemed breathtaking.
They very subtly and definitely not awkwardly lean closer to the hedgehog. The next thing they know, Sonic's embracing them. The hug feels warm, despite the cosmos around them. It's also bright, almost blindingly so - they note in their mind for later.
Barry close their eyes. They couldn't help but find everything about the moment beautiful. They wish they could stay like this forever. With Sonic alone, in a oh so gentle but tight embrace, surrounded by loveliness that is the hedgehog in their arms, probably feeling the most loved they ever did.
Oh they wish they'd stay like this forever.
...
"ok it's ok Barry pull yourself together don't cry don't cry don't cry-"
