Work Text:

After leaving his home on Earth behind and saying his goodbyes to Toru and his family, Leo went on to venture and see what else this planet that he loves so much has to offer. Now that there's no threats and villainous aliens to come after him, he can take in these sights without worry.

"It's so beautiful." He thinks to himself, looking at the green lands of the earth, the various colors of the plants and foliage enveloping it. The animals, both friendly and ferocious, he appreciates. They make up the circle of life that he has come to observe during his time here. The vibrant blue sky, full of clouds that make this place evermore beautiful than it already is. Thinking back on it, he's spent a lot of time on this planet just appreciating and looking at this sky, since not every planet he's been to was blessed with such beautiful scenery. He feels the flowing winds softly clash with his skin, making his hair and clothes flutter. This human form too, is a beautiful thing that this planet has given him.

"Humans are beautiful. The Earth is beautiful."

Alas, the time for him to leave has come. After his final battle with Black End, he has realized that his very presence can harm this ever so beautiful planet, and while it is painful to leave what he considers his home, he would rather not put it to such dangers ever again. Of course, if danger ever comes to Earth and its life, he trusts the humans are strong enough to stand up to their own, especially Toru.

His only destination is Nebula M78, where the "Land of Light", home to many ultras, resides. Thinking back on it, Leo has never set foot on this planet before. When his home was destroyed, he was left floating across the universe, eventually finding himself on Earth. He's only heard and seen the Land of Light after encountering Seven, as well as that one time that the planet was on a collision course with the Earth itself.

"Am I going the right way?" Since he's never really been here, it's…. a bit hard to tell if he's going the right way, he's seen the planet itself, so at least he has a general idea of what he's looking for.

After a bit more of wandering around the nebula, a familiar voice calls to him.

"Brother?! Is that you?!" Astra, his little brother, calls to him. He looks behind to see him.

"Astra?"

Suddenly, he's met with a hug.

"H-hey! What's up with you?!" Leo wiggles around Astra's embrace. "And when did you get so strong-"

Leo can barely breath from how tightly he's being hugged. Astra finally lets him go after a few more seconds.

"Why do you think I'm always in such a hurry to leave the Earth? I didn't spent all that time just goofing around, I was training and doing missions!"

Astra flexes his arms to show off his muscles.

"See? I'm probably even stronger than you now even!"

"Oh you little-"

Leo wraps his arm around Astra's neck and affectionately rubs his other hand at the top of Astra's head, very aggressively.

"Haha! Stop it big bro! I get it!!"

After a bit more of fooling around, Leo finally lets Astra go.

"So, where were you going anyway?" Astra asks as he pats his body to clean off some debris. "And when did you last take a shower?! You got debris all over me!"

"Oh, I was planning to visit the Land of Light, but I've never been on it before so, I'm lost…"

"Really? I'll take you there then! That's where I live!"

"And you never told me?!"

"Hey! You didn't tell me you were on Earth either!"

"Because I thought you were dead?!"

"Then have some faith in me, big bro!"

The two banter at each other for most of the trip.

"Here we are, the Land of Light!"

Astra extends his arms forward to show off the planet to his brother.

"Woah…"

"Very pretty isn't it?"

"Well, I've seen it before, but…"

The Land of Light looks quite similar to Earth in some areas. It's a bright planet, full of life. It's filled to the brim with green just like the grass of Earth, floating islands and structures make for a sight to behold when grounded. The sky, while not as blue as the Earth's, is still bright and beautiful to look at, much better than the depressing dark void of space.

"You should go see my boss!" Astra suggests to the awestruck Leo.

"…Your boss?"

"Yeah! You've met him before!"

—

"COMMANDER ZOFFY'S YOUR BOSS?!" A loud, shocked shout can be heard echoing from Zoffy's office.

"Yeah! After the whole Ultra Key thing, I decided to settle down on the Land of Light permanently and work under Zoffy's command."

"Your little brother has been of great help to us, Leo. And of course, your efforts for protecting the Earth are recognized."

Zoffy stands up and shakes hands with the both of them.

"I believe I wasn't mistaken to give you two the title of an Ultra Brother. You should go visit Seven, he couldn't stop worrying about you when he got too injured to come back on Earth after that attack on your base."

"Really?"

"Yes. Oh, don't tell him I said that though, he likes putting on an act. Just pretend you also missed him or something."

"Well… I did miss captain…"

"Yes yes now go."

"Oh, that's also where I live!" Astra exclaims.

"You live with Seven?!"

"Astra didn't want a house of his own, considering that he was going to be living by himself. But now that your brother is here… The offer is still up, both of you. Don't worry about the costs, consider it as… a gift, from Ultraman King."

"You're charging the old man for it?"

"Well, he did say to reach out to him if the two of you needed help. Anyway, go meet Seven, I got work to do."

The two fly their way towards Seven's home (which also doubles as Astra's). Despite Seven being a famous figure in the Land of Light, his house is a humble one. Not too big, doesn't stand out much, just a normal house for a famous man.

"Huh, for some reason, Seven's house looks exactly like what I thought it would look like."

"The hell does that mean?"

"Nothing, should we go inside?"

The two go in on Seven's house. Just like the outside, the interior is very simple, resembling what the inside of houses on Earth would look like, perhaps Seven just loves the Earth that much.

"Hmm, is Seven not around?" Astra wonders.

As Leo looks around the house, he sees the shadow of another ultraman appear on the stairs. As if instinctively, he takes a step back.

"Hm? What's wrong, brother?"

After the figure reveals itself (by taking more steps down the stairs), Leo loosens up after finding out that it's just another Ultra.

"Who's that?" Leo asks Astra.

"Oh, Zero! Good morning!"

"Morning Astra. Who's that in front of you?"

"Okay-"

Astra drags Leo and steps closer to drag Zero as well, he takes their hands and makes them shake.

"Leo, meet Zero. Zero, meet Leo. Zero is Seven's… he lives with Seven, brother. And Zero, Leo is Seven's "disciple"! He's also my big bro!"

"D-disciple?"

"Oh… It's that guy that Seven kept talking about? Nice to meet you, old man."

"Wh-" Leo quickly takes his hand back "I am not that old..."

"How old are you then!"

"I'm only 9,100 years old."

"Ah, I'm 5,000 years old... so you're double my age! That means you're old doesn't it?" Zero snickers.

"Why you little-"

Leo was about to pounce on the young man, but Astra manages to catch him before he reached Zero.

"You're gonna have to get used to this guy, Leo."

"Seriously?"

Astra lets go of him and Leo sighs.

"Where's Seven anyway?" Leo didn't want to admit it, but hearing Zoffy mention Seven gave him a huge relief. After that attack at their space station, Leo believed that Seven was gone for good. Now, it's just a matter of meeting his old comrade here.

"Oh, I think that old man is out on a mission today. Probably won't come back 'til later in the afternoon."

"Like usual, huh?" Astra says.

"Heh, yeah." Zero hides his annoyance with a scoff. While Seven is just somebody who's decided to take him in, he still finds it annoying that the old man is unavailable most of the time.

"Well, since Seven won't be here for a while, why don't I tour you around the planet?" Astra rests an arm on his brother's shoulder.

"That would be nice." While Leo is a bit tired from all that travelling and exploring, taking a look at what the Land of Light has to offer does sound nice, being able to hang out with his little brother, who he hasn't been with for a long time, is a bonus on top of it.

As soon as the two get ready to leave and open the door, they are greeted by a familiar face who seems to have come in a hurry.

The smaller, red old man slams the door open, panting and catching his breath after what seems like flying too fast for too long.

"Seven?!" The two brothers shout. "Old man?!" Zero is also surprised.

Naturally, this shocks everyone in the house. He was supposed to come back in the afternoon, but it's only an hour after sunrise!

"I.. flew back when I heard from Zoffy that you were here…" Seven says as he catches his breath.

"D-did you fly all the way back just to-"

"Yes, Leo. Yes I did."

After stabilizing his footing, Seven walks forward, and without warning-

"C-captain?!"

He gives Leo a hug!

"I'm glad you're safe. Welcome home, Leo."

"T-thanks…? This is kind of sudden, captain…" Leo is flustered at the friendly gesture his captain has given him. He's been so used to the grumpy Seven that scolds him for every mistake he makes, that a hug from him feels so wrong to receive. But at the same time, it makes the hug feel more… intimate. Did something happen to Seven while he was gone? Or was he always like this, and just couldn't be when he was on Earth?

"Hey! If you're gonna date my brother, at least take him out for dinner first!" Astra teases, taking advantage of the redness in his brother's face.

"D-date?! Stop fooling around, brother!" Leo's face couldn't be more redder.

"I'll kick you out of the house Astra." Seven glares at Astra.

"Hehe! I'll just leave the two of you alone then!!" Astra skips over to grab Zero.

"Huh, what- Hey! I was gonna go back to sleep!" Zero struggles at Astra's hold.

The two of them leave the house to go somewhere, and just like that, the Seven and Leo are alone at the house. Seven finally lets go from the hug, the two staring at each other with a warm smile on their faces.

"Err… so… Seven…." Leo struggles to start a conversation now that they're alone.

Seven laughs at his nervousness.

"Come on, ease up a bit, Leo. Sit down at the dinner table, I'll prepare you a meal."

Leo does what he says, sitting down at the dinner table.

From where he sits, he can see the view of the Plasma Spark Tower on the window in front of him, the light of the tower hitting the window, casting a light at the table with the same shape as the window. It reminds him of the Earth's sun which he misses so much.

He takes a look around the house once again…

"It's like I'm back home on Earth." Leo couldn't help but voice his thoughts.

"Hm?" Seven turns back around to him, who was preparing breakfast for Leo.

"Oh, sorry. It's just… I guess Earth has affected us so deeply, Seven."

Seven looks at the same window that Leo's staring at.

"Yeah. It's a wonderful planet."

Seven grabs a plate and walks towards Leo, he places the plate in front of him at the table, then sits at the chair next to Leo, facing him.

"I will forever be thankful that I got to live in such a wonderful place, even if for just a brief part of my life."

This is the first time Leo has seen Seven open up to him in such an unfiltered way. Back then, he's also expressed his love for the Earth, but he's usually done so with a stern and sorrowful expression on his face. But now, that face is replaced with love and adoration for the Earth and it's people.

"Seven…" Leo couldn't help but smile back at him.

Seven pats Leo's shoulder.

"Now come on, eat up. We have a lot of catching up to do."

"Did you really have to drag me out of there? I was going to stay in my room anyway."  Zero voices his complaint as he munches down on a slice of pizza.
"Hey, I already gave you free food, stop complaining." Astra says as he chugs down on a bottle of soda. "Besides, I don't think the two of us want to see that old man get all sappy and sentimental."
Zero takes one last bite of this slice he's holding, while Astra puts his bottle back down the table. "I guess you're right."
The two of them accidentally imagined some... intimate scenarios with Seven and Leo.
"Eugh..." They say as they both shudder from the thought.
